Hi! Hope you found this video useful. There is so much more I could say but I did not want to make a 1 hour long video. If you have any questions just let me know and I'll do my best to answer all of you :)
Hello, Currently after ui 6.0, the s21u now has all the camera features the s23u. Can you please do a update to this video with the new update to the s21u.
Facts, I have my s21 ultra and it's a beast. Only problems I have are with youtube being wierd in picture by picture mode. Battery is phenomenal on 60 hz and great on 120hz. If you aren't actively gaming (only lightly) on 120 hz then you'll easily get through the day with just 75-80%
Great content. I upgraded from my note20 ultra to the s23 ultra in phantom black. And there's a big difference. The biggest difference is I can now have WQHD at 120hz. As with the note20 ultra, if you wanted 120hz, you can only get it at FHD.
Todavía tengo el s21 ultra desde su lanzamiento. Estoy pensando en quedarme con el hasta el s25, el s21 ultra no tiene nada que envidiar a ningún teléfono de la actualidad y seguro que será así en varios años más
Do you know if it works know? I have a s23 ultra but also a s21 ultra I will get from repair today for my girlfriend I wonder if they updated a few things in the years
I think when you say 'the S23 Ultra is MUCH better, or significantly better than the S21 Ultra' when comparing certain features is a bit of a stretch. I would say the S23 Ultra is slightly better with some things. Considering that the S21 Ultra can now be had for a third of the price of the S23 Ultra it's an easy choice. I think there's a bit too much hype around the S23 Ultra and that boxy design is not for everyone.
The S23 is much better, you can see the results for yourself in this video. This doesn’t mean the s21u is not good, it just means the s23u better than it.
There's no question the 21 Ultra is a much better value right now, but the camera performance on the 23 Ultra has been far better in my experience. Remember as well that TH-cam is compressing all these clips, in the raw video you can see even more differences.
I LOVED the fact that ur at no point in the video have brought comparisons with other phones, only the same Ultra line. And u r really cute too lol Hope u continue with the videos
I love my s21ultra The camera is perfect for me The boxiness of the s22 ultra and s23 ultra is not of my liking Plus some of the models are still at 8g ram whereas the s21ultra you always get 12g ram and 256g
I have upgraded from an Exynos S21 Ultra to a new all Snapdragon S23 Ultra, and I must say that, on a photographic level, both devices take fantastic photos for sure. My S23 Ultra is not an obvious winner here, but the fact it can match my brilliant S21 Ultra (which I have kept as a back up device) is a delight to me. Video however is a completely different story. From Day one I was disappointed in the video quality of my S21 Ultra. Video shot indoors looked soft and mushy and lacking in detail, and low light video could be disastrous, with very intrusive noise levels and occasional complete detail dropout. Even shadow details on a sunny day were noisy to the point of spoiling the video. It was such a letdown after the sharp crisp video shot on my previous phone, an Exynos Note 9. Thanks to the truly excellent video quality on my S23 Ultra, I have fallen in love with recording videos again. Indoor shooting is now a joy with sharp well contrasted details and very good noise control. Low light video is now nothing to avoid or fear, as is shadow detail on a sunny day. The video recording on my 23 Ultra is in a whole different league to that shot on my Exynos S21 Ultra, and because of this my 23 Ultra is always my daily choice as it alone has the perfect and complete camera system. It's battery life is on another level too, so I take more photos and videos on it overall.
So you recommend the S23 Ultra? I currently have the S20+ and am contemplating upgrading my phone. I thought about getting the S21 Ultra because it is cheaper already but if the S23 is really that much better I will think about getting that model.
When I got my s23 ultra over The s21 ultra I was shocked by the moon shoot 😮 The s21 ultra is way better I thought that my s23 ultra have a problem but now im 😌.. Thanks for this beautiful Nice comparison video
I appreciate this video bc I am upgrading from s8+ to s21 ultra mainly for the camera to take better organism ID photos in the field. thanks for reviewing only the cameras

Great review. Buy i have to disagree on the camera being better. I use my phone for my music videos and based on your awesome side by side examples, i definitely dont want the upgrade. I felt the same way about the pics. Not worth the upgrade imo for me. But I suppose it depends on how individuals use their camera. Some might be better off with s23. Night pics were better but I hardly take any night shots.

Hmmm… S23 ultra is massively better on front camera, massively better on night photos, massively better on video capture from all the cameras, day and night, well it’s massively better on everything except day time photos with the main camera. Of course because on day light you can’t make a very good camera much better…

Hello! I was thinking of buying the galaxy s21 ultra then I saw this video and wonder if the galaxy s22+ is better in the camera, what do you think? right now i have galaxy s8 and want an upgrade of the best on the budget
I upgraded from s21Ultra exynos variant, I must say don’t go for s22 Ultra,s23ultra is the best upgrade, bcs s21s camera is good but not at all sharp especially in artificial lights, and poor battery performance, insane heat. S22ultras speakers are weak and battery is not that great. Camera department not a big jump
Awesome video! Thank you so much. Can the camera of either model work without a cellular plan? I have an iPhone 15 PM and I love it but wish for more zoom and was thinking of buying a used Samsung just for its camera.
So I have had the Samsung 21 Plus (Exynos) for the last 2.5 years and the battery has started to wear down quicker lately and I've noticed some dark patches behind the glass of the screen also. I can get the S21 Ultra (Snapdragon) new and unopened for around £340. Anyone think I would notice a bit of a performance difference between the Plus to the Ultra and the different chip? I'm in two minds of getting this, or having to pay nearly 800 for the 23 ultra.
I was in a samsung store and i found a s21 ultra with the old android 11 version and i compared my s21 ultra with android 13 version. The camera was clearly bad on my s21 ultra so updates makes youre camera bad
6:55 this is wrong, Samsung initially didnt have native 3x portraits using the 3x zoom lens, people asked for that not 2x options which is a crop in from the main camera and of course 2x that way was worse. 2x portraits didnt crop in the sensor using 108 mode it cropped in binned down 12mp mode.
I have the s21 ultra exynos, and am still loving it till today, most of all THE DESIGN. I've seen sooo many reviews of the s23 ultra and i really love the upgrades but i don't like the design. But i know that i will have to change soon, and i will try and stick until the S25 comes out😂
Lol, the Note 10 plus can keep up with these phones and that's from 2019. There isn't much new they can cram in the newer devices honestly. Just repacked , redesign , and shuffle around some features. The cameras aren't that much better and if you take the time to learn how to really use them, you can get awesome photos from older flagships. It's all about selling new devices, that's all. The S21 ultra is a fantastic phone still and you can get it for around 300 bucks rather than 1200-1300 for new ones. It's a no brainer
It's what happens when you try to recover information from something that isn't there. But hopefully you can see from the comparison that the S23 is more OK with leaving dark parts of an image dark. And the result is a lot less noisy/grainy.
Samsung commercial for S21Ultra was focused on perfect pictures on day and night with new camera and so on...and it was great with first rom...but after few system updates its get worser and worser...samsung always after 2 years keeps update low quality roms and make old model works crappy....bad camera, bad battery, bad response and so on...and it will be the same with S23 Ultra one day when S24 Ultra will be revealed...they will put a few new system updates but it wil not be real updates but downgrades for old model...
I am currently using the S20+.. i want to upgrade because I want to have a better camera. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, though.. can anyone tell me whether it is really that big of a difference so it would be worth it to spend more money on the S23?
Whwn you know that samsung or iphone does give updates to downgrade its past flagships only to make their new mobilew to look better .. when a mobile first gets released it comes with very food quality amd when it gets any bif upgrade like bug fixes after installing it we should not upgrade mobile anymore cuz they intentionally downgrade your capabilities to make new product look good
Again, not sure where you're coming from. Both phones use Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, the only difference I have noticed is that the S23 Ultra gets brighter and the minimum brightness is dimmer (nice for use in darkness).
Yeah it's crazy.. funny thing is that 2 years ago I would've been (and did) making the same comparison praising the footage compared to the S10 Plus. I guess you don't know the detail you're missing until you see it :)
Very interesting and informative video to say the least. I currently have the S21 Ultra and absolutely love it but in planning on buying the iPhone 15 Pro Max when it comes out this time instead of the s23 ultra the reason being I like to examine the differences in operating systems occasionally so after being on Android I want to see how hard it is for me to adjust to iOS again? Also I once owned the iphone11promax so I want to see how much difference there is from that to the 15 Pro Max and is it immediately noticeable which certainly I expect it to be. Having said that your common sense video makes it easy for those of us who are not necessarily techno nerds to understand exactly what you are saying and helps us in our choices when we go to make a purchase.. well done, you have a friend in Columbus Ohio :-)!
Thanks for the kind words! I have also considered trying the iOS world for a while. The difficult part is that both Samsung and Apple have a strong ecosystem now so it's not enough switching one device if you want the best experience
everyone in the focus of cameras is ridiculous, I prefer longer battery life, brighter, display, faster loading times I don’t care about how great I can take a picture
I broke the display on s21 ultra and I payed 220usd to repair it, why? Well I love the design and the phone is still good for another 2-3 years after I will buy the s24 ultra :D
Yes absolutely, it will still receive software updates for a couple more years and security updates for even longer. And it's still a great phone in 2023

S21 Ultra Exynos or Snapdragon ?
Mine is Exynos, people say Snapdragon is better, I guess Samsung agrees since they stopped shipping Exynos chips in the S23 series.
Great video
Cheers!
But why all samsung phones have that grain in pictures. It's soo messy for me.Thats why i use Huawei devices...
I just upgraded from the 21 Ultra to the 23. The 21 was the best phone I've ever had, and will miss it lol
Ok you can go back 🤷 its not dead
I am currently using the S20+.. i want to upgrade because I want to have a better camera. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, though.. can anyone tell me whether it is really that big of a difference so it would be worth it to spend more money on the S23?
Whwn you know that samsung or iphone does give updates to downgrade its past flagships only to make their new mobilew to look better .. when a mobile first gets released it comes with very food quality amd when it gets any bif upgrade like bug fixes after installing it we should not upgrade mobile anymore cuz they intentionally downgrade your capabilities to make new product look good
I willy like when s24 came out with double Downgraded specification! From s24 ultra which i send back to samsung, i am back with s 21 ultra.
Tack för bra video, men jag är fortfarande lite tvek på om jag ska uppgradera till S23
Is your s21 ultra snapdragon?
You know damned well know you like that S21 ultra better. The screen is FAR superior.
Again, not sure where you're coming from. Both phones use Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, the only difference I have noticed is that the S23 Ultra gets brighter and the minimum brightness is dimmer (nice for use in darkness).
I really need the s23 ultra it is amazing
S21ultra is best
1:44 you can see how much the S21 ultra crushed the blacks.. you can't even see any detail on his hair. Lol
Yeah it's crazy.. funny thing is that 2 years ago I would've been (and did) making the same comparison praising the footage compared to the S10 Plus. I guess you don't know the detail you're missing until you see it :)
Is s21 ultra a good phone if i want to use it in my career as photographer/videographer for social media ads?
For sure, though at some point you'll probably want to upgrade to a mirrorless camera
Planning to upgrade from S21 Ultra to S25 Ultra.
I think your using s21 ultra exynos version you can try the snapdragon version more good quality in photos and videos
S21 ultra still worth il 24 i dont see reason to upgrade
Do you want higher quality on 21u? Downgrade the system
No macro photos?? Grrr. Good review though thanks
Can i still go for s21 ultra ?
Hi i have we the galaxy s23 with the june scurity update and the update. Includes the 2 times optiimcol zoom on my galaxy s23 ultra. In ùk
Thanks! I have also received the update and 2x has returned :)
everyone in the focus of cameras is ridiculous, I prefer longer battery life, brighter, display, faster loading times I don’t care about how great I can take a picture
I broke the display on s21 ultra and I payed 220usd to repair it, why? Well I love the design and the phone is still good for another 2-3 years after I will buy the s24 ultra :D
S23U case name?
It's the official leather case from Samsung, stupidly expensive but holds up well (my last one on the S21 Ultra survived 2 years)
Ha Ha yesterday only I received my S21 Ultra. Now even after the 24 Ultra is out I just started using S21 Ultra 😀
S21 Ultra just received android 14 🔥🔥
Until the new upcoming ultras beat iphone cameras. I will keep the s21 ultra.
It's okay too buy s21 ultra 2023 ?
Yes absolutely, it will still receive software updates for a couple more years and security updates for even longer. And it's still a great phone in 2023
S22 Ultra is Best Deal 👌
Still using my s21 ultra
Watching your video in my S21 Ultra😅
S23 ultra look like ps5 animated person
