So sad, so sorry for the Carter family's loss. She carried on her mom's legacy of singing and guitar playing. Rest in Peace Helen Carter. I will continue to listen to you and the Carter family music until I'm gone. Hope the Carter family continues to carry on the country music tradition.
This song will always be classic hit song forever and ever. Truly amazing artist The Carter Sister and Charlene Carter A plus song and video. Clip. Song listen millions times day.
Carlene is the daughter of Carl Smith, and June Carter. I dated Carl's niece, a couple of times, and rode the school bus with her every day back in the late 1950's. The niece lived just down the road from me, near Maryville, Tennessee, and often talked about June and Carl. The Carter's have always been my favorites since the days that were on the "Mid Day Merry-go- Around" radio show in Knoxville, in the early 50's.
Helen is the one playing the blonde colored guitar, she plays the instrumental breaks in the song. The order from left to right: Helen, June, Anita and then Carlene.
dmoor10 Thanks l noticed Helen is realy tallented she,s a good guitarist in early shows played accordion and sang (this is hard to do ,try it)did she record solo songs?

Helen was brilliant on that old Gibson. She was also very beautiful, the best of the Carter Sisters.
For sure, every bit as good as Maybelle
A mean accordian player as well
So nice. Anita's voice as clear as Tennessee moonshine. Man, what a crush I had on her. RIP Miss Anita.
You´re not the only one.
Arkansas Red that's not Anita. That's Carlene
Arkansas Red . Yes, Anita was so, so beautiful.
Anita is a chameleon. She looks completely different everytime i see her.

If you listen closely you can hear Anita's voice right below Carlene's. This turned into one of my favorite songs.

First time I heard this it was sung by a member of The Dubliners
Best version of this great song, lovely gals too!
Carlene is the one on the far right, she sings the lead on the song.
Love it!!!

@@alanwann9318 Helen was the glue..Very talented and nice
So schön Danke Helen June Anita und Carlene.
Самый классный вариант этой песни. Карлин восхитительна. Тётки просто богини.
My Dixie darlin', listen to the song I sing
Beneath the silver moon, with my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin', my Dixie Queen
Way down below the Mason-Dixie line
Down where the honeysuckles are entwined
There's where the southern winds are blowing
There's where the daisies growing
The girls of the north in the gay finery
Whirling around in society
Singin' the song of Dixie darlin'
Where I long to be
My Dixie darlin', listen to the song I sing
Beneath the silver moon, with my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin', my Dixie Queen
Goin' down South to have a big time
To see my girl in old Caroline
I'll drink my booze and do as I please
For all those girls I long to squeeze
Singin' the song of Dixie darlin'
There's where I long to be goin'
Down where the jellyroll's rolling
With my Dixie Queen
My Dixie darlin', listen to the song I sing
Beneath the silver moon, with my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin', my Dixie Queen

We're can I get all carter songs hat love them in 1950
🌷That Carlene is so "prissy".🙄.these 4 Carters singing My Dixie Darling is GREAT!🎶☘☘☘☘🎶😇🎸♥️
That is a silly comment, sorry, she is a performer of her times and people loved her!
Harmony sound so great very enjoyable don't listen to
W S Hollins on drums.
Unfortunately... Country music television -- a breeding ground for overkill.
W.S. Holland, isn't it?
IS THAT A BUNDLE OF ENERGY##OR WHAT???
yes
I'm a HUGE Carlene fan, but to be fair, in those days, more a bundle of cocaine as anything else.
Top
But Helen was extra beautiful. The best of the all
I disagree...
I disagree...
They were all beautiful, but Anita stands out, even in later life.
anita carter was THE HOTTEST woman on earth
Yes... I think she looked more like her Dad Ezra. Eck.
Dixi n darlings when a bango right in tune reminds an circus girl of a few rthyms and the drums I played...
Alright, thought it was Helen guess I was wrong :)
That is Helen next to June.
Carlene Carter ?
So energetic so. Great cy Bona
oh why did they have to use drums???
With the availability of the inimitable W. S. Hollen, the question becomes, "why wouldn't you add drums?"
Helen Carter never got the credit for being a really accomplished guitar and banjo player plus the auto harp.Besides her mom Maybelle she could play.
Pretty sure she isn't there.
Too fast
Sind eigentlich alle Tod geht es nicht mehr weiter?
carlene carter lebt noch, alle andere sind verstorben
