Hey I love you're work ...!! I wanted to wrap my hood and I also have a honda fit same year .I was wondering how much long wrap do I need to only wrap the hood???

Thanks and thanks for watching. I don’t recall the specific dimensions for this hood, but generally speaking, a 5ft x 5ft covers most car hoods and roofs. The Fit is a tad smaller, so you can probably use a bit less. Just measure across the widest part of the hood, accounting for the curvature, and the longest part of the hood, typically the hood corner by the A pillar and to the bottom one the front edge of the hood, accounting for the curvature. Then, add at least 2 inches extra to each dimension to be safe.

How do you get the specs for a honda fit? I am trying to design a custom print wrap for work and need to know how to lay this out.

Since I was just doing color change, I just measured what I needed for each panel.

Very cool color. I guess i don't understand who the vinyl is cut between the edges (like between the doors). There should be enough material to wrap material around the edge so you don't see the edges but doesn't' look like is enough material and you are not adding any. How is that accomplished without seeing the edges? thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, it's a pretty cool color. For your question, there are a couple of ways to get the effect you're looking for. In the door gap, you can split the vinyl down the middle, evenly, giving a bit to wrap around the edge of each door . Or you could do an "empty cut" on the back of the front door, which leaves just enough vinyl to wrap around the back edge of the front and the rest folds over the front edge of the back door. Or, you could wrap each door individually (if you have enough vinyl) to ensure you have enough to go around the edges. It's personal preference, really.

How many feet used for the full wrap?

Honestly, I don't remember. You'd have to measure out each section and total everything up for the size, knowing that color change vinyl rolls come (mostly) in a standard height of 5ft tall by however many feet long you might order. Whatever your measurements are, I generally like to add 10% extra as a buffer.

Um, I see now why you sped up the vid, I read your answere to a queary further down the list & you said it took 12 hours to wrap the car, lol. I have a jazz sport 07 and is going to just do the bonnet. I geuse that you didn't go 12 hrs strait but did it over a couple of day's maybe?

Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes, I did this project over a weekend for a friend, about 6 hours a day off and on throughout each day. I've got a couple of videos on my channel on how to wrap a bonnet (hood here in the USA, LoL!!)

How much wrap did you buy?

I don't recall specifically, but for the carbon fiber, I believe I used around 15' x 5' piece, and for the color shift, I think around 40' x 5' piece.

How long did this take you?

Erin Danielski for cleaning and prep, about two hours since I had to do some rust repair. Actual wrapping about 12 hours total.

Would have been good to have the vid slowed down to near normal speed.

You know you can slow it down yourself?
