I'm glad you're liking season 2 as far. Alot of anime only people didn't like the 1st core as they thought it was slow. But to novel readers it was to fast lol. What makes Mushoku Tensei special is the quite moments. Rudy and co actually live their lives they don't just move from one big event right into the next.
If I remember correctly, I read a comment that mentions that zanoba's "attraction" to figures comes from the fact that he can't really have an intimate relation with another human because of his super strength. He would hurt most people or outright kill them, but unlike people stone statues are more robust. I don't know how true that statement is or if it is ever directly mention in the source material/anime, but it would makes sense and would make his obsession with figurines/statues quite a bit sadder.
A rather rare critic of mine: 3:12 It seems like the animator for this scene completly missed the joke with the "warmed up chair" from the novel (the manga had it also right). Rudy offered Fitz the seat he sat it. That´s why it´s warm in the first place and typical Rudeus humour. We have to assume anime Rudy heated it up with magic or something.
This is referenced early on in the series (volume 1), but the more complicated the spell you're using, the more mana it costs. That's why making figurines out of earth magic is extremely impressive. Because theres so much minute details added when crafting, it expends a tremendous amount of mana. So much so that when Sylphie, who already has an extremely large mana pool attempted it, we saw what happened. Sylphie is said to have a higher mana pool than even Roxy, a King-tier Water mage So that explains why when Zanoba tries it, he expends all his miniscule mana supply and becomes exhausted. Rudeus can only do this because his mana-pool is the largest of everyone.
1:40 Why wouldn't Zanobro be BFFs with Rudeus? He doesn't disparage him, they spend a lot of time together, they have a shared passion... Spending time together is how people become friends, after all. 2:05 by the looks of it, she isn't after anyone under 15... Not that it's any better for _us_ 2:20 I just figured out that Rudeus occupies the Protagonist Seat in the classroom. 5:10 You wouldn't believe the number of people complaining that he looks too young. 7:15 Say hello to Rudiko! Rudeus is enough of an otaku to make a rule 63 figurine of himself. Funny enough, she's a spitting image of Paul's late mother. 7:30 "He loves figures." More than that, _Flesh is weaaaaaak_ 8:10 Seems Zanoba is hard-wired to use pretty much all of his mana in strengthening his body rather than spells. The polar opposite of Rudeus, really. 9:45 to make things crazier, to the east the conditions are a lot poorer, to the point that becoming a slave can be an improvement to one's living conditions. Slaves with marketable skills in crafts or combat are especially highly saught after, and if one finds their way e.g. in Asura, they're essentially at a lot better position than slowly starving to death in what's essentially balkanized Siberia. 11:15 In the book it's even more awkward, with Sylphie visibly fidgeting under her cloak. Rudeus thought "he" was pitching a tent. 12:35 to add to the cruelty of the scene in the book and manga, even that rag was torn off her in that meeting. She cost a single large Asuran copper coin, about seven bucks. 15:40 The teasing gets...vexing at times, yes.
S2 part 1, literally about Rudeus ED and his live progress (Romantic?), also Reintroduce all the character that we have meet in S1, like Zanoba, Cliff, Elinalize, Slyphy, and 1 more that i can tell you yet and also add more new Characters. That's the reason why the author bring all those character to this school so he can develop all this side character that will become rudeus comrade.
1. Fitz is called "Silent" both because of the incantationless magic and because he doesn't speak much. 2. "Mister Fitz" is a liberal translation. Rudy actually calls him Fitz-sempai, instead of shortening it to just sempai, out of respect.
I heard something about the light novel making Rudy's intentions clearler than portrayed in this episode. Something about rudy despising and hating the idea of Slavery or sum shi i dont remember.
even in the novels, Rudy doesn't give too much thought to it. he is obviously not pleased with how they are being treated at this market, but he doesn't seem to have an issue with the concept itself of owning slaves. this world also seems to be running on a feudal system, so the lines between serfs, servants and slaves can be a bit blurry. he's been living in this world for 15 years now. he's kinda accepted the circumstances and doesn't believe he has any power to change how things are anyway.
the largest difference on the novel was back on rescuing the beastfolk kids with the sacred beast one spanked to death and her body still on the room and a second at deaths door made evem prime Rudy lose any fetish towards slavery. overall, he don't express many opinions on the matter but clearly look down on people who mistreat their slave's.
From what I'm told he was remarking on how his culture doesn't demonize the concept of slavery the same way western media does, but he still hates to see them mistreated. I can't remember the verbatim since I binged the LN immediately after season 1 finished airing.
Rudy not recognizing Sylphie 1. 10 years have passed. 2. You see what you expect to see and Rudy has been told that Silent Fitz is male. If someone said to Rudy, "Slyphie is at the university in disguise" he'd probably see Fitz as Syplhie immediately.
#3 is not true. The glasses only enchantment is an enchantment that warns the wearer if Ariel is in danger. It doesn't change their identity or anything like that. That's misinformation that has been passed around so much, its becoming the mandela effect.

I heard that Zanoba had been married but accidentally killed his wife during consummation.

The current OP is fine to watch if you like, but from episode 13 onwards, the OP has HUGE spoilers for the rest of the season
They thought this is just gonna be the ED arc. They had no idea that it's also gonna be the BL arc.

Before judging Zanoba remember he is so strong that he can't be intimate with humans, he would crush them. So... statues suddenly make sense....

Rudy does not care that much. It’s more like he really can’t do anything for them in this situation.
