I'll provide some context from the Light Novels without going into spoilers: Teleportation Circles are forbidden tech, they used to be of common use in the past but after the Laplace War (400 or so years ago) they were deemed "dangerous" due to security reasons, namely you could teleport entire armies across different continents. Nanahoshi knew of many of them because she traveled with Orsted for some time around the world, she wasn't suppoused to share the information with anyone let alone make notes of them but she did this time. The white winter coat in the wardrove was Orsted's. Begaritte is hot, so le leaves his winter atire behind in the ruin. Rudeus knows Orsted frecuents the teleporters to get around, he knows the risk he is taking by using them. If the word got around about this teleporter and it got destroyed it would be like taking the Dragon God's Ferrari for a ride and crashing it, he wouldn't like that now would he xD. Regarding the Succubus, you can see how Rudeus smells a "pink scent" that is Succubus pheromone, it's incredibly sweet to males and putrid to women. It compells men to have sex with women and turn violent against other males. It took Rudeus some rounds of Intermediate level Detoxification castings to turn back to normal. So it's not like "Rudeus almost cheated on the first night in Begaritte" it literally wasn't his fault. xD Anyway, any more and it would turn into spoilers or just stuff the anime just skipped from the LNs.
Yes... I think the part about the succubus is particularly important to point out, because I've seen many people have a poor reaction to Rudeus during this. He really was being affected by something outside of his control and he didn't know it. Although, Elinalise teasing him is still fun. 🤣

Going a bit deep into the LN here, but it was explained why Succubi are in Begaritte, Laplace used them to break the spirit of Begaritte's men during the war and encouraged them to reproduce. It also explains the social dynamics of the continent, having Female Warriors in every desert expeditions, very interesting stuff they had to skip. Seriously, if anything people should read volume 12 just for the interesting lore and world building xD
About the teleportation circles, according to the book he read in the university, there are circles that send you to random places, there are circles that always send you to the same place, there are circles that works both ways, so the destination also have a circle that connects to the origin. Rudy seems to be able to identify which is which with some degree of certainty. If a circle have a fixed destination, there is no chance for you to be teleported somewhere else, the mass teleportation disaster was an entirely uncontrolled teleportation event with no circles, no nothing, teleportation circles are a lot more controllable. At least according to that book, of course.
Imagine having a huge army and you can just teleport them on the other side of the world, right outside of a city, that's one of the reasons teleportation is forbidden.
the only thing really grinding my gears is how they depict rudeus being so short. at this point Rudeus and sylphy are 16 years old, norn and aisha are 10. Sylphy is around 5'1... Roxy is 4'11, Elinalise is 5'3 and Rudeus is supposed to be a LITTLE shorter than Paul who is 5'9... yet he looks almost like a midget being a bit taller than sylphy when standing side by side.
What Paul did would've been in the mobile game, but the thing got discontinued before the third arc came out. The transcript was released to the internet and it's still around. The fourth arc details exactly what Paul did and what pissed Elinalise off so thoroughly to hold a grudge for over seventeen years. SPOILERS, obviously: After finding out Zenith was pregnant, Paul disbanded the party, told everyone other than Zenith that he'd never needed them and never will, and took the latest job's reward money for himself. Then he beelined to Roa and begged Philip for a job. Two months after that meeting, Rudeus was born in the house he was stationed at.
A lot of material from the LN has been skipped. More than one encounter with the succubus and the part Eli almost goes after Ruddy because her curses is acting up, but he holds her back and many other monsters and stories with the desert people skipped.
I think the only reason Elinalise detest Paul is for that he stopped her advance when he was married to Zenith... That's the only explanation as it's not explained in the light novel anywhere...
Apparently when he found out Zenith was pregnant he disbanded the party, said to the others that he never needed them, and took the money from their last job all for himself.
It not yet explained in anime how exactly teleportation magic work so dont worry, tho anime actually hinted it a bit if u watch the scene when they teleporting in slow mode

For example an army of 100,000 showing up at a palace’s gates. So all the kingdoms banned it out of their own self-interest/preservation. I don’t remember if the light novel explained it at this point or not yet, but it’s just a small detail anyways

The reason's logistics. Demon armies under Kishirika used teleporters to great effect during the First Great Human-Demon War, so they were dismantled.
