Parveen Khatkar Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but imho its 1 ugly box but I can see that it is a very practical & extremely well designed & built built case, I just don't like the exterior design. I own a cosmos and my 2nd portable rig is a cm scout - no doubt there's people who dislike those cases also. I'm not a huge fan of the scout, if it weren't carried about often I'd put the rig into something like an NZXT 440 to which some may find it to be a boring case....
***** I know it's an extremely versatile case but imo it's ugly as fuck but that subjective. I own 2 CM cases (storm & cosmos) I looked at the haf based on written reviews but didn't like it's looks.
A very well-regarded case. I passed on getting it based on looks alone. Looks like it's made to drop out of an army helicopter. Ended up getting the Antec 1200v3 for home and just got the Corsair 650d for work. Love them both with slight edge going to the Antec.
+didierthesuperstar But did you put the wheels on ? I mean, Shit man, put one engine there, a Steering wheel and you are go for a ride...Maybe...Not quite, but you got the point. lol
I put it on a goddamn trolley, and secured it in place by wrapping it with duct tape I didn't even untape it when I arrived, I just plugged everything in and called it done
didierthesuperstar Wow, imagine if you had the Cosmos 2 - 22kg "pure steel" Bunker, remove some of the metal components, put a blanket and you can even sleep there. Hahaha this case probably can withstand a nuclear blast. Try to get this to a LAN, lol.
gonna buy one and do a "reverse sleeper pc". basically a great pc case housing a kinda crappy build. (money crisis here in Brazil doesnt let me do the opposite)
i remember when i built my PC in this case along with a great story. when i bought it online it shipped with just a shipping label on the regular box via UPS. it was supposed to be arriving on a Thursday but it didn't. i chalked it up to UPS screwing up again. the next day i was off of work and the UPS guy knocked on my door and he said " hey you were not here yesterday and it was raining so i didn't want to leave this outside to get wet." and he brought it right into my landing. GG UPS guy and good case.
I remember 9 years ago I had just finished watching Pauls's old 2011 Newegg video titled "how to build a PC". I was looking for a case and found this, my very first Linus video! Since then he's grown from a nerd in a park (filming on what I presume was a flip phone lol) into a tech/media giant. With the inspiring way Linus conducts business he truly deserves all the success that has come to him!
This case has been released over 3 yrs ago & It's still going strong. It's the masterpiece of CoolerMaster. We still have to see about the limitation next to the upper fan, whether it can accommodate a radiator for water cooling, such as the corsair H80/H80i
I been using my HAF X for over a year now, and still love it. Looks great, cools well and was easy to put my high end build in. Your video helped me decide to buy it. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for your two great video's on the Cool Master HAF X case and 4 graphics card installs, you sold me this case and helped answer every question I had before ordering a case for next day delivery. Great filming from the camera man too, thanks both.
I have had this case this 2010 and I have to say it is excellent. As long as you have space to accommodate it's sheer size it will do you no wrong. It can hold any hardware you could ever realistically try putting inside the thing, and do it with ease. It may not be pretty, and it gathers dust like none other, but it is the best utilitarian case I have seen.

Cooler Master Haf-X XL-ATX Gaming Computer Case Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech Tips
I've got one myself...damn it's heavy when kitted out. But the size of it and the expansion options were the reasoning behind buying it, I'll not need another case for decades
I can't put it on anything else because there's no room, but the cloth wouldn't get sucked in because there's mesh between the fan and the floor, just to give you an idea of the space, the layers go like this psu fan, dust filter and metal mesh, about 2cm of air space then floor (this is at the bottom of the case).
I'm so buying this case :-). After a long search it turns out that this truly is the ultimate gaming case and actually pretty afforable + alot of fans while still having a low noise level!
8:10 thats because I will be drilling in fan mounts myself to accommodate for bottom intake. :D Right behind the psu looks perfect for maybe a 140mm. I mean it looks like thats what they designed it for other then neglecting holes for it. Theres 3 fans for exhaust, only makes sense 3 fans for intake :)
you can lift off the top of the case where the 200mm (i think its 200mm, idr exactly) fan is to either add a second fan or take the fan off and add a radiator
I remember when I got this case, the first batch had a broken front connector that could short your PC and fry your Motherboard..thanks Linus! Everything worked out in the end though, got a new MB and a new case where they had fixed the issue.
Just to let everyone know that this case dose not fit the EVGA Classified SR-2. they say its 2 inches wider that the tray. you can check on Coolermaster's site.
I love this guy. I just built this rig and watched his videos through the whole process. Regardless if you like the product or not, the guy is cool... OS: Win 7 64bit Pro Service Pack 1 MoBo: Asus Sabertooth Z77 CPU: Intel i7-3770k (OC - 4.2ghz) RAM: Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum Series 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR3 DRAM 1866MHz PC3 15000 C9 Desktop Memory (CMD16GX3M2A1866C9) GPU: TWO 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 FTW - SLI LCU: Corsair H80 PSU: Rosewill Bronze 1000W Asus DVD drive
When this started I wondered why you chose to do it outside rather than your normal "in office" reviews. Especially with the truck & plane noises. But then lighting was great, you could see everything clearly. So why not? Thanks for the review.
I like the idea of doing this video in the sunlight. I could actually see everything inside the black case. About the hot-swap bays. They may be only dedicated to Sata I or II. I would remove them and just plug the drive(s) directly into the motherboard.
4:03 "could be hidden for whatever reason" Cats. They really like to rest on PC since there's a warm air flowing up, also pushing everything they come across on it and sending your PC into shutdown right in the middle of anything
I love this case. I've used this video and and many other reviews that Linus has done on most of the parts that is in my build to help me create mine. His reviews have been very helpful.
I have been using a CoolerMaster Haf 932 case for about 4 years and really like the casters. Are there many (or any) current cases from them or any other manufacturers that either include casters or have mounting points for casters? Thanks Bob
No one will prob see this, but i just found one at a local pawn shop for $20.... i bought it, and took at some of the drive bays. Now it is a monster with air flow.
Seems that Newegg can't keep too many of their HAF cases in stock. I can see why these are so popular. Although I wouldn't count their "Storm" series of cases (Trooper and Stryker) out, either. Regardless which of their full-sized cases you get, I don't think one could go wrong with these.
Tell the jets to cool the flying until your done shooting the video. I like that slide for the power/reset. Prevents you (or your kids) from pressing the reset accidently.
@FastBuffGaming No my motherboard uses 4 pin only, my power supply that im getting with the HAX Z is the GX 750, it has a 4+4 pin power cable. I cant find any 4 pin extensions
@Mehecanogeesir you need to connect the front panel to the USB3.0 on the back of your motherboard (assuming your motherboard supports USB3.0) the front panel 3.0 is essentially an extension from the rear of the case. i hope this helps :)
Finally made my mind up. Its the HAF X. All thanks to you! Really appreciate your help. This is my first build, and i want it to be good. Got an i7 3770k, asus p8z77-v pro, 16GB RAM (2x8GB), intel SSD, HDD, blurry combo drive, corsair AX850, which i think will be enough, possibly even for a second graphics card. Oh and my graphics card will be the 680. Thank you again. Will maybe tell you how it goes when i finally get it, if you care?
I got this case after I saw this unboxing and love it. I've been able to do, basically, everything that I've wanted to do to it and a few upgrades, but I really wish they had made the top where the two 200mm fans go a straight rectangular section instead of a sections for each fan. The two sections make it a bit of a pain with the cables going from the front top display when adding a 200mm fan because the fan takes up some of the room where the cables have to go, but it can be done. If they had made the top section straight this would have also made it possible for them to add additional mounting points so I could put three fans. I also wish they made it so you could put 2 fans in the place of the one 200mm fan in the front. I'd put 2 Corsair AF fans. Besides these 2 items I love this case and will continue with it as long as can.
I'm not exactly sure how thick the H100 is since I only have a H40/H70 but if it fits yeah, remember you can have another 200mm in the front and the sidepanel PLUS 120mm/140mm near the cpu intake totalling to 9 fans chassis max.
The only drawback I could see in this case compared to other cases at its class is the lack of dust filter for the PSU intake. In my Thermaltake Armor I clean this filter on a regular basis and it collects a lot of dust, especially since it's very close to the floor. All of this dust woiuld have gone into my PSU and shorten its life span and performance.
I really like your knife review, especially when you're demonstrating how it can be used as a pointing device, but whats the relevance of the PC case, it's just a prop right?
@jmishkab I have this case with an EVGA gtx 580 and the side duct is atleast 2 inches away from the card. Its positioned really well so that a standard ATX motherboard ( i have the p8z68-v pro) will be able to SLI two huge cards with plenty of clearance for the duct. It does not touch anything and even if you are uncomfortable with the narrow gap, its completely removable which has little effect on interior temps.
this case kinda copies the corsair 800D, between the power supply partition area, the hot-swappable drive bays in front...and im sure theres more im not even realizing
@iScream90 it's also an older case. Anyway, I just said that it fits the bigger motherboards, just like this case, this one is better thanks to the added features. I still love my armor+ though.
I scour the internet looking for a good HAF-X review and yet again I end up on this youtube channel. *subscribe* Probably the best hardware reviewer on TH-cam. Keep up the great work.
I've had HAF 922 for a while now and I'm very pleased with the build quality and looks. Now I'm considering an E-ATX motherboard so I'll probably sell the HAF 922 and get the HAF X instead :)
10 years ago I was here choosing my new case... And now I am here, using the same case and remembering my best purchase
I've only just retired mine because I have downsized the components and it takes up too much space in my living room.
it the best case ever made
Same! I live near the ocean and the case does not have a single bit of rust. Also got the windowed side panel at the time, looks timeless.
I remember this video! i still have the haf-x that I used this video to determine whether to buy it or not lol. I miss Parking-Lot-Linus!
its almost 2021 and Im im running this case, its a beast for cooling
@@oc3144 same here haha! Just going to upgrade mobo cpu and gpu along with adding some RGB I think!
To this day, this is the video back in the day that helped my justification for getting this case. I still use it to this day as a daily driver.
Hi5
i just put together a throwback tower tonight with this case and an old x79-Deluxe coupled with a gtx 780ti and i7 3960x surprisingly it isnt THAT bad
I'm using one for my first build 😎

Using for 6 years
why is he unboxing in the middle of a garden?
Wan Noraiman Yes. I was hoping for the inside, nice and clean, quiet, studio.
Wan Noraiman cuz its a 5 year old video
Probably because of natural light laws in Vancouver
+Wan Noraiman Obviously the case wouldn't fit through the doors.
also they didnt have the studio yet then and were waiting for it to be finished being renovated
I bought this case because of this video 10 years ago..... Still using it everyday.
yesss! it's a tank!
really, socks with sandals??

@DerpCracked Firewire is a type of cable used to transfer data, much like a USB cable but it is most commonly used to transfer data from camera to pc.
I'm an happy owner of HAF932 full tower case, I believe this product is an awesome improvement. This case seem to privide lot of room
wow a 15 min unboxing, you gotta love that.... really showing everything that we need to know in order to buy it.
The time when LTT was just starting, outside the NCIX store?!?

Cats. They really like to rest on PC since there's a warm air flowing up, also pushing everything they come across on it and sending your PC into shutdown right in the middle of anything
Cooler Master rocks I just transplanted my puter into a Centurion 5 and I'm loving the extra room!
"black goes with everything... it's the new black." ....... pure poetry.
I love this case. I've used this video and and many other reviews that Linus has done on most of the parts that is in my build to help me create mine. His reviews have been very helpful.
got this a month ago, its HUGE! plenty of room for everything.
Glad i chose it.
I just got this case yesterday.
The video doesnt do it justice. This thing is HUGE. I knew it was a big case, but not that big.
This is prolly the last time he saw natural light and since then he has been gaming away. That is how I like it :D
anything can fit in this thing. its an XL-ATX gaming tower, you can fit more than 1 680 in there with no problem :)
"Black goes with everything, it's the new black"
HAHA! Who is this guy and why am I only watching one of his videos for the first time! Genius!
When this video first came out I got the case a week later and I've had the case un-built for 12 years, its my favorite case lol
10:47 Coolermaster's like "Umm.....Sure, why not?"
I have been using a CoolerMaster Haf 932 case for about 4 years and really like the casters. Are there many (or any) current cases from them or any other manufacturers that either include casters or have mounting points for casters?
Thanks

What the hell is a caster?
Casters are small wheels for the case.
No one will prob see this, but i just found one at a local pawn shop for $20.... i bought it, and took at some of the drive bays. Now it is a monster with air flow.
0:43, lol @ the random guy just starting at him lmfaooo
Seems that Newegg can't keep too many of their HAF cases in stock. I can see why these are so popular. Although I wouldn't count their "Storm" series of cases (Trooper and Stryker) out, either. Regardless which of their full-sized cases you get, I don't think one could go wrong with these.
Tell the jets to cool the flying until your done shooting the video.
I like that slide for the power/reset. Prevents you (or your kids) from pressing the reset accidently.
Nice sound of the Jumbo overhead :)
@FastBuffGaming No my motherboard uses 4 pin only, my power supply that im getting with the HAX Z is the GX 750, it has a 4+4 pin power cable. I cant find any 4 pin extensions
Careful with the bottom wheels they break easily as the case is heavy. May want to get better ones.
@Mehecanogeesir
you need to connect the front panel to the USB3.0 on the back of your motherboard (assuming your motherboard supports USB3.0)
the front panel 3.0 is essentially an extension from the rear of the case.
i hope this helps :)
im still rockin this
Storm trooper is aimed more for portable LAN rigs, I reckon for air cooling the HAF would be better with more fan options (hence HAF = High Air Flow)
Everybody gets so excited when they get a new computer case that they just rush outside and unbox it.
You should mention the thermaltake armor+, its got 10 expansion slots, so it fits evga's giant motherboards
@BKsMassive I agree, in a case like this you have enough space to throw all your stuff in with no trouble
@TheWoWRevelation actually no, the height is 599mm and the bend to get to the mobo is like another 2cm...yeah ill just have to find an extention
I got this case after I saw this unboxing and love it. I've been able to do, basically, everything that I've wanted to do to it and a few upgrades, but I really wish they had made the top where the two 200mm fans go a straight rectangular section instead of a sections for each fan. Besides these 2 items I love this case and will continue with it as long as can.
nice case with an additional function of vaccum cleaner.
I love the OG snap on screwdriver!
@Akytalusia He's outside of the NCIX company showing the case off.
I'm not exactly sure how thick the H100 is since I only have a H40/H70 but if it fits yeah, remember you can have another 200mm in the front and the sidepanel PLUS 120mm/140mm near the cpu intake totalling to 9 fans chassis max.
i bet he loved feeling the watercooling rubber seals,
"ooh these are nice actually" fingering the rubber seals for about 2mins.
@danthaman7777 dont think so, the HAF series is all about airflow, so i dont think they will leave the important VGA fan on the side
I'd say this case is going to up there with the 800D from corsair more features equals more consumer interest
actually, E-ATX is the same thing as XL-ATX as far as i remember, i think it was just different companies labeling
I really like your knife review, especially when you're demonstrating how it can be used as a pointing device, but whats the relevance of the PC case, it's just a prop right?
@jmishkab I have this case with an EVGA gtx 580 and the side duct is atleast 2 inches away from the card. @jack3751 the only vent without a air filter is the one located in the rear
this case kinda copies the corsair 800D, between the power supply partition area, the hot-swappable drive bays in front...and im sure theres more im not even realizing
@LinusTechTips the cut-out for the CPU Cooler Back Mount is stil, not big enough and yes you can put in a radiator I got a Corsair H100 in it
@iScream90 it's also an older case. Anyway, I just said that it fits the bigger motherboards, just like this case, this one is better thanks to the added features. I still love my armor+ though.

2:41 gotta love the mandals with socks.(:
to who ever who says this case is ugly, you are wrong. this case is a beauty.
Hope that the HAF X will include more air filters
@bcdrummer he didn't drool, it's from the flowers/trees on the other side of the seat :P
After installing everything into my HAF XM, I can confirm your comment to be 100% accurate.
Haf x because it is more future proof friendly for more upgrades in the future
I've had HAF 922 for a while now and I'm very pleased with the build quality and looks. Now I'm considering an E-ATX motherboard so I'll probably sell the HAF 922 and get the HAF X instead :)
sliding something is the same thing as pushing it in that same direction, whether pushing something with your entire body or your fingers
it's crazy how far Linus and his videos have come :)
Pretty big case. Which is the largest and most beautiful computer case?
