I’m a 32 yr technician. 99% time , it’s sludge from over 150,000 miles and I remove 1 quart oil and replace with 1 quart of diesel. Run for 1 hour and change oil n filter. ( diesel cleans the oil pump and valleys so more oil can lubricate the lifters) I have done this on so many cars and diesel trucks. Say what u want but try it and save a couple $$$$
I'm sorry but I am not a mechanic so excuse this old lady for asking stupid questions..Do you put diesel directly into the oil? I want to try. I just bought a used 2016 caravan, driven 2 weeks and I hear that clicking while idling. It just started today.
So my 2017 doge journey has a loud ticking noise whenever she is running or even turned on. It's more intense when you first start her up in the morning. She runs great but what should I do?
Just got my 2015 T&C back from dealer, they replaced bad lifter and camshaft and phaser do to damage from lifter. But it's still making same ticking sound. What gives?
How much do you charge for a job like this ? I would like to see if I get this done on my van.. I would like to see if they charge me and arm and leg for this repair... please help
@@JamieGarrett-ru4rq the last one I did was a month ago on a 2017 caravan. I replaced all of the lash adjusters and rockers, all new gaskets and an intake cam, it ran $1400

So do u have to get a oil change eventually, or do u just leave the diesel in until it gets low and replace with more oil?
all of you who make these videos with no recording of the sound need to get a swift kick.
yes, 100% agree
@@ChadAnglin-t8f oh hey is yours doing the clicking? If so I know what it is
My 2015 Chrysler van does the same. I wish I had enough patience and mechanical skills to tackle this issue.
Did you get it fixed?
Amazing how they describe details about caravan.
For those of you who are old enough to remember the movie, Bueller,Bueller, Bueller, that's exactly how he sounds, so boring.lol

@@holdenb3403wrong. I've replaced a ton of these pentastar camshafts. Replaced 1 engine due to oil pressure loss, which killed a main bearing.

I have the same issue with my 2018 but I have 260,000 KLM so I figure I will drive it into the ground at this point.
