I agree with what he said at the beginning about keeping the weight for strength. As a welder myself the tab setup is really nice especially for consistent quality and strength.
Hwy Stanley will you ask them guys if that center pipe can be capped and turned into an air tank? Incase a feller was to put an onboard 12v compressor in the front storage box that tube tank would be a great reservoir for inflating big equipment tires, it would be wise to have tank access in the front storage box and a tank drain on the back at the bottom, so the water can be drained when it sloped up in the front and down in the back
It’s a good idea but air tanks flex microscopically as they’re filled with air. Scuba tanks are a great example; they get hydro tested and I’ve seen tanks fail at the welds on their first hydro after hundreds of dives. What’s to say the welds wont crack eventually because of the flexing with weight and with the air pressure?
I like the tab system, my H&H aluminum tilt had the rear axle brackets welded on 3/4” too far back, I thought I had a bent axle for a while, till I pulled it off and realized that was not the problem, so I started measuring.
Both! Would of like to seen more of the electrical system. Double down on the stability of the trailer then put cheap Chinese leds and harnesses to get it out the door?
I am Two years into a Diamond C dump with the “weak” point on the sides. I like that it lowers the floor height, for side access, yes If I fill the 40” sides level full of shingles they deflect a little, but I will GLADLY trade that off for similar deck and overall side height with straight axles. Drop axles bend FAR easier than straight. I have only bent one straight axle, from hitting a pothole, but 1 out every 2 of the non-straight axles that I have had have bent from hitting pot holes. In West Virginia, sometimes you either hit an oncoming vehicle, or the pothole..!!
@ Just be glad if you don’t have super deep potholes. I think in the last 5 years it has gotten better. There was corruption in the bidding/contracting for the road service, so it was costing a lot extra to keep up the roads. 11 paving companies were collaborating and got fined a combination of around $102,000,000.00 this got all put back into the roads. It has improved since then.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Was surprised to not see a dump trailer sitting on top of an equipment trailer when you left. Wishing you and your family the best.
Stan looks like a great, heavy built trailer. Hopefully, that f350 can handle weight when loaded a lot for a single. And I know bla bla bla Ford and other manufacturers in my opinion over rate what should safely tow with a smaller truck. Trust me, that heavy trailer will throw a single axel truck around like a rag doll if things go south.
Wish the dump trailer hinge was as close to the tail of the trailer as possible so that when in the full dump position, the tail was not dragging and the load would be more in a pile rather than having to pull the trailer forward and spreading the load out. They always say they need to put the hinge point in so that the trailer will dump. I get it but if you use a better cylinder capable of a more lift, then it is not a problem. I have owned several dump trailers and would sell my Diamond C telescopic trailer in a heart beat for someone that will build a trailer built like a dump truck bed. Of course they will have to prove that it will lift the load. My Behnke trailer was the best I have ever owned and they did custom build it with a heavier cylinder for me but they were not willing to move the hinge point. Please keep reviewing trailers and giving them input on how to make them better.
Welding the torque tube every cross member is cool, but does nothing additional for the overall twist of the trailer. If it is welded at the ends, that is where the overall movement is. Each section in between has incremental twist that stays the same whether welded or not.
@ You may disagree, but that will not change the laws of physics. From a physics stand point, in order for the trailer to twist, the one side beam raises or lowers in comparison to the other side. side, this happens largely at the ends. This is also in a linear twist. With the ends moving the maximum amount. If it is attached there, it will twist the entire length of the torque tube, and the center welds will not make any difference. If you load something really heavy on the one side say 5’ from the front, it would need to bend the main beam in order for that twist not to be transferred to the front and rear of the trailer. This would then be transferred to the torque tube. The only way it helps is if the cross members are two weak, then welding a few in the front and rear would help a little, but towards the center, there is virtually no twist, it is a pivot point.
You wrte only a mile from my house if of love to of met ya ive been following your channel for years now it was a giant influence on us opening up our tree services and land clearing company
Also all that rigidity is now going to be delivered straight to you hitch rather than be absorbed by a trailer that has a bit of flex, you gonna feel that trailer behind you more and put more stress on your tow vehicle
I bought 2 Rice trailers a while back they were skidloader trailers and the frame cracked in the same spots on both of the trailers . They cracked the main frame rails in front of the first axle.
Congrats man on important milestone on your 15 long years journey of TH-cam and 1400 videis of all kind.indeed you look very different man than when you started your journey...clearly you looked 15 years younger and you had much nicer beard than the one you have now...I know you gona surprise your million subscribers one day by looking like stanly when you start your journey. It is just an idea and your choice ...good luck and have a great day.
It having flexibility can be a good thing it can be a bad thing it depends on how they do the connection and the suspension system Whether that torque tube is a benefit or a needless weight penalty is open for discussion
Found the answer Strongest Steel Tubing Steel square tubing isn't the strongest type of tubing you can use. It is, however, more applicable than round or other shaped tubing in certain uses. Round steel tubing can withstand far higher weight-per-feet than square or rectangular tubing.Sep 2, 2024
They should have gave u both trailers just for the 1M advertisement factor! Now I want one watching this! Trying to look up their info now oh I see RICE trailers. Why didn't U get that dump trailer? If it's available I will get it from them
Pretty sweet! Have a question for you. Been wanting a 3/4 ton, but don’t want a loan. I’ve found a 2012 F250 6.2 with 128k, one owner, maintenance checks out, good shape asking 15k. Would you buy it if you needed it?
I would say as long as it didn't plow and salt or tow heavy loads, it's whole life. Rust can't be fixed. Your smart for not going a large loan easy to borrow on a 70 grand truck a lot harder to pay back.
@ no plow hook ups, probably towed some. Frame in good shape (VA truck its whole life). Agreed. The used market on auto trader is decent but nothing close. This truck isn’t too far.
No doubt they strong trailers but they are over doing it, you want some amount of flex, something rigid is gonna crack rather than flex. In the end the tongue is held in with 2 pins or bolts 😂 all that strength is over kill
Stan i watch most of your videos and how many more trailer videos are you going to make every 1 you visit make the best trailer you've ever seen 🤔 it's getting a bit repetitive the Southland trailers were very impressive i though.
oh no- I don't say any of them are the best. I show you what I buy and why. If you feel like its the best thats on you. 👊👍 my job is to not to sell anything but to show everything and let you decide. EXCEPT I NEVER BUY JUNK. All the trailers I have are pretty sweet in different ways. You have to figure out which one is best for you. Make sense?
That trailer "will" be cracking all over because it's not flexible..its like welding a semi's chassis insted of riveting this trailer won't be i one piece for long..
Should have loaded the dump trailer onto the heavy duty equipment trailer and gotten both!🇺🇸🙏
Love the hard work on an American built trailer, kudos to you folks.

I saw that as well and thought boy that would make a great air tank

The tabs are a great idea. The more surface area contact you have the stronger the joint when you glue it together with electrons.
yes sir
Congratulations on the 1,000,000 subscribers Stan!🇺🇸
Just get them both!!! What could go wrong with that method? Hmm, nothing. lol
I like the tab system, my H&H aluminum tilt had the rear axle brackets welded on 3/4” too far back, I thought I had a bent axle for a while, till I pulled it off and realized that was not the problem, so I started measuring.
interesting

Nice trailer. The only thing is it needs tie downs every foot along the sides.

holy crap- I haven't had any axles issues so far. I must be lucky or just have better roads 😂
@ Just be glad if you don’t have super deep potholes. I think in the last 5 years it has gotten better. Good job guys those stabilizer jacks will save that frame. i cracked my frame loading equipment without them.

I mean... you could've just taken both of the trailers. 😅
Very nicely and tough built. I like 👍👍
Just noticed you hit a million subs Stan, congrats 🎉
a robotics builder that took time to build trailers, impressive.
Wish the dump trailer hinge was as close to the tail of the trailer as possible so that when in the full dump position, the tail was not dragging and the load would be more in a pile rather than having to pull the trailer forward and spreading the load out. good call on that trailer hinge point. I have had the same issues in the past
By Not using a channel pipe, you avoid spots where the crud sits the steel and rots away the structure of the trailer.
I didn't think of that
I bet Stan is happy about Nov 5th outcome. Still not out of the woods by a long shot
Hope you have a great weekend! Cool to see another trailer added to the fleet!
The only downside i can imagine is, they have to be HEAVY by comparison.
Boy o boy do I love over-built stuff!
me to!
Great content what a great trailer Rice is nice. Should have bought both for snizzel
Welding the torque tube every cross member is cool, but does nothing additional for the overall twist of the trailer. If it is welded at the ends, that is where the overall movement is. Each section in between has incremental twist that stays the same whether welded or not.
I respectfully disagree. It stiffens up that rib cage and eliminates some of that twist

I believe Diamond C was the leader in the torque tube center.
Also all that rigidity is now going to be delivered straight to you hitch rather than be absorbed by a trailer that has a bit of flex, you gonna feel that trailer behind you more and put more stress on your tow vehicle
Take them both home I have the Rice 22" car trailer put wood sides on it it's going to be my landscaping trailer next year
I bought 2 Rice trailers a while back they were skidloader trailers and the frame cracked in the same spots on both of the trailers .
They cracked the main frame rails in front of the first axle.
Did Rice repair them?
Crap- I hope they took care of you
gratz on 1m!
Haven't seen this channel in a while, stan looks like a biker now 😂
Since I live here in Missouri I might have to check them out so I can buy local.
smart
You know that Stan brought two trailers will show in another video
I'm sure the last clip was a teaser. Bet they turned around n grab that dump too
Did you roll through Hannibal on your trip through Missouri. ? If not when you go back to get your dumper you should.
Whats in Hannibal?
Nice man!

being a contractor ages you lol😂. and I have been a contractor now for 35 years. Thats 140 in normal human years.
Both, sounds like you need them, and want them...
Nice trailers. Noticed your editing guy dropped the ball. You said to cut in some video that didn't happen. Still great videos as always.

Since I didn't buy that dump trailer it might still be available.
what do you use to hold your phone?
you near TN ? lol..
What? You came to Missouri and didn’t let me know? I’d bought the gang lunch
Built right.
it sure is
Is the center round tube stronger than square or rectangular
Rice trailers have horrible reviews I purchased a Diamond C and couldn’t be happier
so far Im loving this trailer
What is the name of the company so we can get our own?
Rice trailers
If they don’t galvanize no reason to buy one in upstate New York
What is the weight of the trailer?
Pretty sweet!

My Rice Trailer is a 19 year old Beast!
Get them both. Lol.
Looking for a dump trailer and by who I put skid steer, or a mini excavator
FYI-Hauling equipment with a dump trailer can be done but its a pain in the butt.
@ what type of trailer might work in your opinion brand .
Will you do a chinese mini skid steer review for us poor folks?
What brand you want to see?
@@Dirtmonkeysome brand you can buy at a local farm auction. Probably some AGT brand type usually had for $4k.
hi the use prime ??
My last trailer was PJ Trailers and it was the best brand I have ever owned
here to help
They got lots of bad reviews online
Probably just competition trolling them but who knows
no rub guard?
Stake Pockets every 2'?
i'll pass
I require a rub guard and more stake pockets on all trailers
I hate DRings
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
You had to trucks should have taken both trailers home
Its called a torque tube and I've seen it only once before
That trailer "will" be cracking all over because it's not flexible..its like welding a semi's chassis insted of riveting this trailer won't be i one piece for long..
I guess Ill find out but Im not too worried to be honest
I bought a rice car hauler trailer and the ramp welds just all falling apart
get both... easy
😂 you spend my money faster than alex does
