You made a happy little man and a happy little Granite nice
Thank you!!! He sure loves it
I did this to my Vorteks big difference in handling. For 17mm I just used Tyhon outer axle and hex
That looks mean nice video brother my boys are getting the vorteks boost for there birthdays and then brushless upgrade and 4x4 upgrades for Christmas
That’s a great setup!! They will love them. Two of our granites started as brushed then we upgraded to brushless!! Have fun
Nice video 🔥 👍🏽 💯 💪🏾 I was thinking of doing the same thing with my Big Rock using kraton 4s parts
If you do that would be cool. Let us all know how it turns out
Nice video I actually wanted to do the same exact thing i'm still waiting for my A arms to show up. Those Granite are so mush fun, they can take a serious beating and parts are super cheap and easy to find.
That is awesome!!! I think you will enjoy it once you swap them out. It really helps the handling. Keep bashing and having fun!!
Sweet, I’ll pick up those 17mm hexes and see how they do!
No wonder it rolls that easy, the per-load on the shocks is realy high. If you take those fillers out and only keep the small one in it wont roll much because once you start a turn you will lower the centre of gravity. No need to widen if the setup is correct
It looks cooler now anyways 🤷🏻♂️
I took mine out a week ago and used 60 wt . Feels good so far . I put the stock shocks back on to try them after changing oil . Was using some aluminum big bore shocks . They were ok . Still some rear end bounce . I like them to stick landings if I can get them there
You just reminded me I had to put 40wt in the front HR front shocks on my kids Granite. We did the same to ours, the longer arms. It's a different running truck for the better!!!
We have been contemplating changing the shock oil weight. It’s pretty good but it may benefit from a little extra weight. Have fun and keep bashing!!!
If you have stock shocks try 40wt front/35wt rear.
If you have the 4s HR shocks try 35wt front/ rear 20wt.
@@rcjunkie260 awesome thank you for the great info
not a problem.
Jenny's has been sold out of the tie rods & buckles. Any room to get in and take some measurements on what you have?
Looks good! Im gonna try the wide maxx granite you just showed. I have a kiddo about your son’s age (9.5yrs), and we turned his granite 4x4 mega into a blx 3S and added a typhon rear wing. Fits as though it was meant for it. You might consider that small upgrade. Running trenchers but probably need to try those M2C hex 17mm. I’d love to know your feedback on those. We’ve stripped out several 14mm hex and broken several of those cross-pins.
That’s awesome!!! We are running the outcast wing which is pretty bolt on, but may try that Typhon wing. I’m the hexes, the m2c 17mm are awesome! Would never go back. If you are stripping hexes, I’m assuming you still have the plastic 14mm. I would recommend going to the 14mm aluminum or the m2c 17mm. I have never stripped with either of those. The 17mm hex opens up the selection on wheel and tire combos though
Are the tie rods from big rock too good sir . Great video thank you
Have you thought about taking one of the Granites and putting on some Outcast parts on it?
I may at some point. Looking at it all it would need the top shock tower, arms, driveshafts, spindles etc. it may not be cost effective, but you never know.
Love this video. Shocks don't look completely stock?
They are identical to the stock shock just with an aluminum body. They aren’t worth changing to in my opinion. The stock shocks work great
can u please give me the name or link of the wing…that build look amazing 🤩
Check this video out. Good install. I used the outcast 4s wing

@@818_Custom_Garage omg!! Thanks that video seems pretty helpful. Im going to buy the wing and install it. Your videos are very fun to watch. God bless you.
@@818_Custom_Garage do i use the outcast wing for the granite blx? or which wing doni use?
@@samejoke8636 you could use an outcast or Kraton, but I prefer the look of the outcast wing. It’s the 4s version from the v1. I don’t know if it’s changed any with the v2
Where did you get those rails on the roof of your granite?
Proline makes a roof skid set with different lengths
Do you have to make any changes to the shocks?
No changes needed at all
What are the longer a arms i need called???
You need the A Arms from an Arrma big rock

Then you can either extend your stock tie rods or purchase the tie rods from a big rock

any reason why your camber is adjusted so far?
Camber is pretty well set. Maybe just the camera angles. I’ve seen some that are off here and there.
Did you need to adjust the tie rods?
I did not need to adjust. They were good to go
I have the wide box here with tie rods from arrma . Just being lazy .
@@Hungrybird474 do it!! It’s a great upgrade
Do you remember the part number for the Badlands? It looks like they make several sets.
These are the ones. You will need buy the 14mm removable hex or 17mm if you have the M2C upgrade. At the bottom of the page they have the part numbers for the hexes

@@818_Custom_Garage thank you sir
Hey man! Cool video, I’m saving this to my Granite upgrades TH-cam playlist, definitely will go with those arms once the stock break. Btw i wanted to ask you how are you doing with your ProLines Tires? I have a similar model (trencher) and I don’t know if it was a casualty but the day i started using them my rear differential crown and input gear got stripped, have you noticed any increase of effort or damage on your drivetrain using your badlands? Anyway thanks for your time, cool vid!
@@arq.andresfelipemoralesvar9593 that’s awesome!!! Thanks for the positive vibes. We have had great success with the prolines. The only time I’ve stripped any gears has been when landing on power since they are plastic gears. We’ve eventually upgraded to metal gears on both the Big Rock and the Granite. But I wouldn’t do it till things break. Also the trenchers work well. We had them on our senton and really liked them.
@@818_Custom_Garage thank you very much for your answer!!! My rear input gear and diff crown just got stripped, already ordered the metal ones. Can’t wait to fix and drive again :D
Those 4s shocks made my granite drive very weird, they are way too long
I would assume the 4s shocks would be longer. We currently have a 3s shock but it’s the aluminum body shock. Basically same as stock. Were you using the new 4s shocks?
Just minutes into your video, you have so much preload on the shocks. On asfault, you need to lower it!
Did you lose any suspension travel?
None, it mounts the shocks at the same points. The big rock shares the same shocks as well
@818 Custom Garage good stuff man, I'm about to do the same to my vorteks. Which shocks are you running?
@@SilentSassin I’m running the stock shock, but Arrma makes some with an aluminum body.
@@818_Custom_Garage Oh okay, I thought those were from like the 4s line or something, need to search for them..thanks man
@@SilentSassin they are basically just a stock shock with an aluminum body. I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t spend the money on them. The stock shocks work really well. Maybe put a little heavier weight oil in them. If you check out what we did to the big rock, it has 6s shocks and it’s awesome but I still don’t know if it’s worth the money unless you are trying to just launch it. Hope that helps, have fun!!!!
Are those 4s Blx shocks?
They are a slightly upgraded 3s BLx shock. They are just like stock just with an aluminum body. Not worth the money in my opinion.
@@818_Custom_Garage Hey I was thinking to purchase those Arrma aluminum shocks to replace the stock ones.
- Is there big difference between those upgraded aluminum shocks and stock ones?
- If those are not worth money, what alternative about same pricerange shock would you recommend? Thanks, M
@@Mikodemuz i personally do not think it’s worth it. The stock shocks hold up pretty well. I would actually just put some thicker shock oil in. I can’t remember what they have stock, but I think I went up by 10 or 15 in weight
@@818_Custom_Garage Thanks for reply. Any opinion about RC Hop Ups CNC Aluminum Shocks for Arrma 3S Models? They where quite reasonable price as a set of 4 available right now.
Yeah , the stocks are fine after changing fluid imo .
You like it better ?
It’s way better!
@@818_Custom_Garagecool . I ll eventually do it . Thanks
