Outstanding. At first I was a little bit confused at why the hell you were mixing and matching these things, but I'm glad I stuck with the video. 130 bucks four pack and frame that would cost you close to 500 if you bought the equivalent. I have one a FILBE pack just laying around but there's no frame.
Hey this is Loosely related but have you considered some sort of load-bearing hiking trailer to augment the weight?
    Thanks for sharing GC.

Good idea. Part of my SHTF plan is bikes with trailers. You can only carry so much by yourself.

I have not considered that other than maybe a pulk sled for snow trips. I see the homeless use toddler trykes to haul their stuff around town. Some trails in the mountains would be a bear hauling a cart through some of the terrain, especially now where the bark beetle decimated the pine forest around here littering the ground with dead trees.

hi, it is possible to buy only a Guide Light Frame? On the MR site, i can't see that option. On eBay also nobody sells separately only the frame

Update: I've been able to pretty easily fit a Kifaru omni belt to my guide light frame, with both delta straps attached to the frame. With more finagling, I've been able to attach most of my packs or pack bags to this frame. Really versatile.

That is good stuff, you just gave me some ideas I am a fan of the Alice pack even though I think the large Alice tried to kill me once on a road march. Thanks for sharing.

What kind of fastex buckles did you buy? I have extra buckles issued with my filbe but the straps are too thin to fit them

Excellent video. Mystery Ranch is top shelf. It fit the FILBE like it was made for it. Thats going to be a bad ass pack. Thanks for sharing !

I got my FILBE on a Nice Frame and it fits perfectly! If I remember correctly some time ago when the Nice Frame came out they mentioned it that the ALICE as well as the FILBE pack would fit on a Nice Frame. Well anyway, I am very satisfied with my setup. I used to go hiking with my Eberlestock G4 but the harness is not as good as the one from the Nice Frame. I was thinking of trying to get the G4 fit to the Nice Frame but then again the FILBE didn't need any adjustments so I decided to use the FILBE instead.

Thank you very much for this video sir! I was wondering if it fits because I bought a FILBE pack but I got no frame that’s why yours video is amazing! God bless you.

Awesome, thanks for doing this! I always wondered but never had the extra cash for the Mystery Ranch stuff. My way of thinking is to have a single frame and switch out packs conform to whatever the task is at hand. Thanks again, I love my ALICE packs and now I can get rid of my aluminum frames once I get one of these.

@@GUERRILLACOMM So, an update: I was able to obtain a brand new Mystery Ranch Crew Cab Pack with a NICE frame off of EBay for a mere $300 beans, and I LOVE this frame set up. A little different from the Guide Light, doesn't have the load lifter tower, but I prefer that. Like you said, NIGHT & DAY carry of the ALICE and I love the ability to switch out packs and have the same frame already set up to fit so you only have to do minor tweaks because the load carries a bit differently between the two. But all in all, it is awesome and I am selling all my other packs cause I no longer need them between the size versatility of the Crew Cab which goes from 1800 cubic inches and expands up with different configurations AND still having my ALICE for the same frame, I don't need anything else!! So thanks again for putting this out there, much appreciated!

I kinda think your into prepping with some stuff you say which is perfectly fine. I was curious if you are into the Patriot movement (Militia)? Which is also perfectly fine. Just curious, some of the things you say that I pick up on.

    • @GUERRILLACOMM
      @GUERRILLACOMM  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I prep as much as I can leaning towards the homesteader variety. Alot of my current interest has been because of prepping. Building my bug out bag gave me a new found love of the out doors and physical fitness. Not part of any militia, too far in between and I'm not trusting of some of these organizations. If it comes down to anything, I'll step up and join a righteous team.

I almost created a TH-cam account under the named “Goober Filbe” just to leave a comment. But being serious for a moment, based on your observations, does this combination work in reverse? I just bought a Mystery Ranch pack without the frame, do you think I can carry it around on the ALICE frame that I already own? Understand that it’s not ideal and I will probably end up with a NICE frame eventually, but if I can use what I already own for now it will get me up and running.

genius! gave ur video thumbs up! I got the whole FILBE system (main pack, assault pack and hydration carrier), love em all but dont wanna use the original 1606 frame with heavy load like more than 20 kg. I'll probably get a guide light frame like you did on ebay or some place else. Thanks!

I like the new frame. It appears to be comfortable.
I have a question for you on power supply gear. I am looking for battery box or case for a12volt battery that is 13x6.8x9. Right now I'm carry it in my comm bag loose.

Build one. I am in the process of doing it myself. Most parts came from eBay and a lot of connectors from China so have patience for shipping time. I am going to have cigarette lighter plugs, USB plugs, AC inverter for 110v, charge controller for solar.
I only have a 15 amp 12v battery but I am going to experiment and see if I need to add another.

So you got one frame by buying the whole Pintler system for $410...how did you get the other one? I didn't follow that. I've been wanting to get a FILBE based system too and this looks like a nice way to do it.

The other came up for sale on EBAY for $100. have not seen any more since I got this one, hit and miss. Though, I did notice Mystery ranch are now selling the frame by itself for 275. other vendors might sell it below cost or with a coupon code. Stay tuned, I got a vid on the works hiking this setup about 11 miles. I go into detail about how it rides and handles. Thanks for watching.
