    I just built one and was quick and easy. I didn't use any extra materials as everything was already there. I used the top metal pieces for the door brackets and had it welded for strength. Seems great so far.

    This is a great design! I'm definitely going to use this for my field shelters. Thanks for sharing!

    Since I like your setup I'd like a closer look at the clips you used on the conduit and specifically how you fastened them.

      Did you ever do the video you mention near the end about your buck's shelters?

    You could bury this underground for super insulation! Cool project!

    Give me a few days. I have to build a few more. I can film that and show measurements and fasteners.

      Instead of scoring the doorway roof, why not use a heat gun to soften then bend?

    What are the tabs on the bottom you are using to mount the EMT with?

    Absolutely Awesome!!!!! How did you do that?

    • @yesumessiah7696
      @yesumessiah7696  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you liked it. It's not that hard. I used a portable disc grinder to cut the poly and metal tubing, used a drill and ran sheet metal screws. They're all still holding up.

      YesuMessiah Do you have a step by step video or plan?

      Unfortunately, I didn't video a step by step. Maybe later in the Spring.

    What gallon size is the tote?

    I like the idea but, is there enough ventilation? How about summer heat? Are these intended to be permanent year round housing? Thanks.

    • @yesumessiah7696

      +tuubydude We use them year round. In the Spring, we open the drain valve for three seasons and close it in winter. The tops have a threaded fitting. I install a PVC vent for hot air to escape. I think you can see them on another video. We point the openings toward the wind for ventilation, except for winter, when we remove the vents and keep the wind on the back of the shelter. Works great. Just add straw. We have pigs in some now.

      Thank you for all the information. I really needed something easy and fast to make. Much better than gathering up pallets etc.. The ventilation information was a big plus and I love the entrance roof shelter. Thank you for all your help.

    Could you make a chicken coop out of one?

    • @yesumessiah7696
      @yesumessiah7696  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +tuubydude I've thought about that. I have a lot of different birds and they all have pole barn or kennel coups. But, if I wanted to have a few of a particular breed, I could do anywhere from a half to a dozen chicken size birds per tote, depending on how I wanted to set it up. First, I wouldn't cut the opening all the way to the bottom like I did with the improved access as they could jump in over the first rung and it would help keep other critters out. I also might lower the entrance a bar depending if I wanted to put two roosting bars inside, I might even put a few nesting boxes in the lower back with bar above.You could use chainlink fence toprail, which is 1-3/8 and insert it into a 1.5" PVC pipe. Penetrate both sides and rest on a bar. Insert cotter pin or bolt on ends and secure to bar. I also run my grinder lightly in rows over the PVC pipe for gripping texture. I do that for all bars. So in a word, yep. Maybe in the Spring I'll do a few different ways.

      I just built a chicken coop from a 330 gallon IBC tote, I bet you could totally improve on my design...
