How to Make A “Backwards Only” Level in Super Mario Maker 2!

- Is there a way to build a Super Mario Maker 2 stage that can only be beaten backwards? I’ve tried to build such a level for ages, but at least in Super Mario Maker 1 it was not possible. But thanks to the new Super Mario Maker 2 additions it is finally possible to build a Super Mario Maker 2 level, where the floor collapses as soon as Mario looks to the right!

No, he's actually drawn to them, like a moth to a flame. That's why bad coin placement is such an effective trap for him; he's been conditioned to follow the money. Honestly, I'm surprised he doesn't go out of his way to look for a P-switch any time he sees brick blocks; even if the brick blocks he sees are what he's standing on. The deadly factor comes in because he hasn't learned to fear them; ergo his problem is the opposite.

Place a block then take a piece of graph paper and trace the same block. You have now made a SMM2 level outside of SMM2. Now fold it up into a square and insert it inside your Switch. Congratulations! You now have now broken your Switch.

One of the best things about Mario Maker 2 is that channels who did a lot with Mario Maker are uploading super frequently about all the neat new stuff. I love it.

Hey Ceave, Hope you're having a great day! Anyways I've been wondering for a while if it is possible to make a Mario maker level where Mario can only move vertically. Like a puzzle stage where Mario gets a koopa shell for example, and has to throw it into the right spot so that he can jump up onto the next floor, but during all that is not allowed to move horizonatally.
Hope you read this, love the vids.
The one problem I have with all these contraptions is that they are all so LOUD! I wish the silence sound effect would actually silence items instead of doing a static buzz.

Ober yes, it is a mistake, u are meant to put attention,
Underlord 26 No, it’s a play on words. Because the level gets you tense as you play and “a tension” is a homophone for “attention” like play on words.
But I did come up with the title like, immediately after I completed the clearing run to publish it so it’s definitely not the best title but it really was the only title I could think of :P
Plus, you have to face the center of a level thus the “center” part also has another layer to it

I know it's a basic guidepost in the Nintendo-made levels, but it's so often overlooked in Mario Maker levels (not all the time, but enough) that I feel it's a good thing to call out when someone does a good. That coin placement at 3:15 is excellent.

Hey Ceave, it actually is possible to make a backwards only level in Super Mario Maker 1 with a surprisingly simple setup. The setup for this is the following:
This contraption takes a 3*4 space surrounded by ground tiles. The top left three blocks will also be ground tiles. In the top right is a muncher. Right below him is a cloud of donut block. To the left of the cloud or donut is the P switch. The bottom right, there are two upwards springs. FInally, in the bottom left there is a boo inside of a clown car.

Well, you can just go forward, then jump back as soon as the P-Switch activates and wait it out. And then play the Level normal.
