Our Aulani Adventure Day 2! | Quick Resort Tour, Storytime With Moana & Sunset Dinner At Ama Ama!

- In today's vlog we have our first full day at Aulani! Thank you to Disney for inviting us on this media trip! We start with a quick resort tour with the cultural ambassador, she was amazing and the tour was so informative. Then we had a spa appointment, the spa and spa amenities were so nice and the hydrotherapy garden was amazing. We got to see Uncle tell stories about Maui around the fire pit with Moana. Then we ended the night with a beautiful sunset dinner at Ama Ama. We had a full but really awesome first full day at the resort! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

T B this resort is a Disney owned resort so they fit here just as well as they would in a park. Just because you don’t think so doesn’t mean they aren’t a wonderful part of the resort for others. If you do t want to deal with characters outside of a Disney park then don’t stay at a Disney resort. Lol

Agreed. My ohana is from Maui and I didn't watch these videos for a long time because I always feel a certain way about people who only visit the resorts and don't take in any of the culture and history. I was pleasantly surprised.

Me and my wife got married and honeymooned here in October of 2017! Had the wedding ceremony on the Ama Ama patio! We're going back for our 5 year anniversary in 2022!
This video brings back so many memories 😊. It was such a great and amazing experience 😍! Not only the resort, but Hawaii in general!

There is no question as to why Disney loves you both as much as we all do! Informative, funny, and so respectful. You both are glowing. My parents went on their honeymoon in Hawaii 30 years ago and I have been trying to take them back since - can't wait to show them this!
Im originally from Florida. I moved to Oahu with my husband due to the military. I have made it a goal to go to the resort before we move back! I miss Disney so much! I cant wait to go when we visit home during Christmas. Im glad i found these vlogs to get a sort of disney fix!😁

To those on the west coast, for a couple, it can be just as cheap to go to Aulani for 5 nights as WDW and it's almost the same flying time.
I want to be somewhere where everyone is relaxed and chill! I’m almost never relaxed, I have terrible anxiety. I need the beach and a spa for sure!

Spent a bit of time at Aulani a couple weeks ago. Such a beautiful place. We especially enjoyed Uncle Ito. We took the DVC Hawaiian Culture tour with him as our guide then went to hear him tell stories by the fire. Highly entertaining.

We lived near Pearl Harbor for 2 years with the Navy, but never experienced Aulani. It is fun to experience it through you both. Great video as always!
Jen is right- it’s empty because of the time difference. It’s the only place you wake up at like 5am and look out on the balcony and see the lights on in a TON of rooms! Latest I ever stayed up was 10pm last trip.

Holy manoli, that resort just keeps getting more amazing the further you explore it. And that Moana was amaaaazing. Have you ever seen a Disney princess interaction like that before? I feel like that was something really special, getting to have her help tell the story and act things out, kind of going off of the normal princess 'script'. Uncle was incredible, too, I could have listened to so many more stories. I love that the resort teaches so much about island culture and the Hawaiian history. Also, hearing the true Maui legends is so fun.
I can't even, I just want to sit down and talk about this whole thing with you because it seemed like the best part of this whole whirlwind trip. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

Aulani sounds like it’s a very don’t worry resort and it’s very calming and just enjoy. You don’t have to worry about anything.
Good memories when I went a few years ago. I got to plan the trip again. The evening show was free. It’s now a paid show. Cheaper to go to Germain’s Luau. Nice to know “Uncle” is a good alternative. Aulani is too far away from Waikiki and other tourist attractions. Aulani can be enjoyed without ever leaving the resort. Best to stay for a week in Waikiki (and get used to time difference) and then arrive at Aulani for a few days. Since Disney is bankrolling this, you might not need this tip. Across the street is a ABC store and restaurants to get cheaper food. I went there almost every day.
Uncle’s voice have my calming chills when telling the stories and singing. I really want to go here

Hawaii has such a deep, and interesting, culture and history. LOVE that area/bar/restaurant that teaches you Hawaiian words - SO cool! This place is stunning - I would definitely go there if I ever hit the lottery! I also so want to the NCL Pride of America to see all the islands!! Hey Tim and Jenn, here's a little Hawaiian tip for you: Now before you call me crazy, make sure you catch "The Green Sunset" one day, right before the sun sets at 6'oclock, go down to the beach (and ask a local employee where the best spot is to catch the green flash) or maybe at around 5:30 if you have the time to just enjoy the scenery and wait until you see the sun hit just above the water, slightly look downwards (do not look directly at the sun while you do this) and you should catch a green flash just when the sun disappears. It's an absolutely amazing experience that my family and I have remembered for years.

I lived on the island of Oahu during the construction of Aulani and the beach that the resort is located is my families favorite beach to go to.
There is just something about Hawaiian music, after you hear it in person it is amazing and you love it. As before, it just sounds really different. But, I can listen to it know and it is so wonderful!! Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful place. On our many beach destinations, including Hawaii, we also go to bed quite early. Up with the sun, busy all day, sunset dinner and darkness, and it's off to bed.

Exactly what you go on holiday for, to embrace the culture and to take in the surroundings. Great vlog! So many people go to places like this and spend most of their time just sat on a beach reading a book or swimming and not experiencing anything. I understand people just want to relax but look around you. If it's your first time make the most of it.

We stayed at Aulani back in February! Loved it and you guys did an amazing job of capturing its uniqueness, charm, and fun! You are right, no one is around after 8pm! Jenn you are right, it’s the time difference! We were always in bed by 10:30 and up at 6 and we were there for a week!
Hydrotherapy is basically body treatments that involve water. An example would be a hot stone massage, due to the fact that the stones themselves are heated in water. Another example would be like a turkish bath. As a massage therapist, hydrotherapy was a fascinating subject to study.
So beautiful. Will never be able to afford this so thanks for sharing your adventure with all of us.

This is my favorite episode so far! I could only afford 1 night at Aulani and my room was as big as your bathroom, but now I have to go back and experience everything!!
I've seen many vloggers and have heard many podcasters do reviews of Aulani and though they were all gushing over how amazing it is this is hands down the best review! I absolutely love how visual your vlogs are, that you keep it about the experience and not just either how amazing or how disappointing Disney (the company) is. This felt most like we're there with you and could realistically see ourselves there. You did such a great job too at respecting not only the culture but the cast members and I love how much you acknowledged how easy they made your trip and how outstanding they were. As always though you reviews felt 100% honest and you don't mind saying if you were a bit disappointed in something- but with still being as humble and grateful as ever for the chance to at least try said thing out.
PS: how amazing were Moana and Uncle?!!!! They clearly have such an honestly good time telling that story :) And Moana clearly kept honestly having to try to not laugh ;)

I would recommend doing the Menehune Adventure Trail. It’s like their version of Agent P’s world showcase adventure
I was lucky enough to go to Aulani with three Disney cast members. We stayed for five nights and even with the significant cast member discount, it was still pretty pricey. It was a wonderful experience. The theming in the resort was so amazing. I would love to go back.
I tell people who ask, if you really want to go, it's possible. I told them, when you arrive in Oahu stay in a cheaper hotel, VRBO or Airbnb. Those first days you're going to be spending doing your excursions & exploring the island. Then your last few days transfer over to Aulani. give yourself at least two to three days to fully immerse yourself in the resort and take advantage of all the activities that are there. It really is a waste of money to stay at the Aulani when you are going to be gone all day doing touristy stuff. But, what ever you do, don't switch the schedule! You will only be disappointed to have to move from the Aulani to a cheaper place.
