@@maxinnn1 Not really. The cold engine oil doesn't flow properly, so the turbocharger won't have sufficient lubrication at a cold start. When the engine reach its running temperature, the turbocharger gets so hit the ambient temperature doesn't matter much.

But your method of getting into the car could have been better, just get a can of deicer and spray it around the car door this will melt the ice and you can get in the car with ease.

I'm planning to build insulated battery boxes ( 2 inch polyurethane board) and to add a warmer under the battery, one for reptiles used under sand aquarium and to power it from the batteries themselves and keep them warm ( 20c) at all times during the winter in my Alaska made for VR. Batteries boxes will hand under the cube truck containing each 6 group 31 batt. I think it will take very little power to keep them warm with two inch insulation... i still Have to check if all my materials are electrolyte resistant. But yeah, nice video!

I don’t see this being that much of an issue, insulation works both ways and we had proof that the heating pads where working, that’s enough for me anyways, does what it describes.

-29 C/-20 F really isn't that bad. It gets down to -20 F every winter in Michigan at least once. Most people don't have garages and many times I've had to drive my car to work when it got down to -15 the previous night. Don't expect your battery to last more than 5 years, though.
When they spray the car with water all that did was protect it Against the Wind. Orange farmers do the same thing in Winter they spray their trees to protect them. The car would have been colder if he didn't spray it. The wind takes all the heat off of everything. This was just for show but still it was a great video
