After watching your video on fitting the XKR rear box and listening to it in this video, I've taken the plunge and having mine installed tomorrow. Cannot wait! Great honest content. Keep it up! From one XK owning Geordie to another.
The lines of the XK will undoubtedly make it a future classic Jaguar, and you clearly keep on top of detailing! I have been to the Lake District many times, the problem for someone with OCD when it comes to cars is the narrow roads with all the gravel and mud that ininevitability gets thrown up on the lower sills etc! Good video...
Lovely trip sir👌My heat shield literally sat on top of my back box all 4 fixings had failed, it's a really flimsy piece of alloy material. Just renew with larger washers and grommets.
take a trip up here to Scotland mate, some fantastic driving roads and nowhere near the volume of traffic you'd get in England, so from Stirling, drive to Doune, then Callander ,then Crianlarich and follow signs for Glen Coe, you'll drive that road from Skyfall going through Glen Coe, keep going towards Fort William and up "The Great Glen" to Inverness, the scenery and roads are truly breathtaking.
Hey man, I’m enjoying your vlogs. I recently purchased an 09 XK black on black, not the R model. I’m doing a few cosmetic mods to mine. Spacers and rims, converted the fog lights to DTRs with colored LEDs. Such a beautiful car to drive and enjoy it’s sexy body!! Glad your enjoying yours too!
replaced my antenna a couple years ago. was a pain in the ass to get to and did not want to damage the rear spoiler and brake light so left the old unit where it was and placed the new unit on the inside of the boot lid with some 3m double sided tape.. works flawlessly.. cost wise it was 130 quid for the new sat reciever from jaguar so not too bad!
we have done a lot of European road trips we normally use the North Shields ferry down to Amstardam and travel all over Europe my last trip was to Italy and Sorrento The XK is a true GT car and we do on average 500miles a day until we reach our destination i am planning a James Bond trip for this year staying in Switzerland doing the Furka Pass from Gold finger If you havent done Europe yet give it a try Max the XK out in Germany 155mph
@@life_on_cars wow 😳😲 that's so cool, I was also thinking of going to Scotland next Summer! But I didn't know if the nc500 is worth it. The thing that scares me about the XJR is that I have never had a performance car before. That's why I was considering the XJ x350 - I love the classic Jag styling but I wasn't sure what would be good for me. Since everyone seems to say the XK is tail-happy
Hi Lee I'm not a fan of wheel spacers as they will change the geometry of the vehicle and can increase the stress on the wheel bearing. Underbody cleaning and protecting is important here in the UK and I use waxoil on exposed metal (subframes etc) Remember most of the XK is aluminium so it's surprisingly good on the chassis for a UK car 👍
It was actually up to 32mpg before the drive around the lakes. At motorway speeds this will most likely be the achievable average . I was pleasantly surprised
@@life_on_cars that's nice to hear and see it happen on the video. Amazing considering the engine you've got under the bonnet. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Subscribed.
@@life_on_cars You need to try driving on the roads in UTAH, I have a 2007 Jag XK, Convertible1 of 97 Winter Gold,53000 miles on the clock, Zero problems, and I enjoy the car. I do a lot of car shows with it. My daily driver is a Rogue, AWD special edition, great car. I'm an Artist. @@life_on_cars I’ve not done a road trip yet in mine 😪but have some places earmarked, Peak District, lakes west coast of Scotland, I’ve done these before but not in a JJJAAAGGGG ! 😂 also look up a place called The Motorist at Sherborne in Elmet West Yorkshire
Great video. Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge.
Stunning car Paul & a beautiful location. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Thanks much appreciated 😊

Also the hedges hanging over the narrow roads begging to scratch the paint 😢

What spacers are you using? thinking about some for my Jag.
@Lee Marks hi Lee I'm not using spacers as they will alter the geometry and can cause increased wheel bearing wear.
Don’t you just luv a sat nav that’s as lost as you are when out and about in a different part of the country but knows where it is when home😂
😆
Our 150s' always look their best from the rear, especially the coupés. Beautiful countryside.
Thanks 😊
Beautiful I’m currently working on getting one in the new year what exhaust system you got on sounds wonderful 👌👌
Hi check out the playlist. I fitted an XKR backbox 😊
Great video and stunning looking car - may i ask what polish you use?
Hi its Autoglym super resin . I tried a new wax recently, check out my other video about the Wax. Many thanks
Thanks for the reply - will do.
I have had one for 6 years as my daily. The best daily I have owned. Hopefully getting another one in a few years time. Enjoy it🤗
In a few years F-type is getting fully electric 😢
Which exhaust ,brand is it?very nice sound

Superb!👍👍
I need to do this! 😊
A question regarding your exhaust back box swap. Have you found any loss of low down torque since the change?
Hi, none whatsoever 👍

Hello 👋 is it comfortable for long distances? Or do you have any grievances about using it for long journeys?

What do you think about wheel spacers for a slightly more aggressive look? also have you considered under body cleaning & protection?

Great video. Your car sounds amazing. Did you have to drive especially carefully to get your MPG or was it fairly easy?

It’s such a crime that previous governments have misused the road tax ! Nearly every road we drive is potholed and knackered ! 🤬
Completely agree! And the road tax for the Jaguar is eye watering...😢
