Even during the development of the first game, there was a team of historians, archaeologists, and reenactors focusing solely on the aspect of historical accuracy. I believe there aren't many mistakes in the accuracy of the clothing. Everything that can be seen in the game is based on historical illuminations, paintings, and real medieval artifacts.

Btw Kuttenberg is German name for the city .. the proper czech name is Kutná hora (litteraly mean Mining Mountain). I am from Prague and Kutna Hora is like one hour by train from there. Its very nice historical city and there are many videos about it on TH-cam 🙌
Playing localised version was confusing. The dub is still English, so they say names in a Western manner, but in the text everything is Slavic, so you hear Henry this, Henry that, but see Индржих.
If you are from Finland , you should travel to Prague and then visit the real Kingdom Come places, definitely worth it :). In a month there is a Kingdom Come meeting in the real Rattay :D
@@emonea You will not regret. :) I'm lucky that I live 80 Km away, I've been here three times and I'm going again. Especially the monastery in Sassau is great because after 600 years it is still the same. :D
Don't worry about unrealistic diversity - Dan Vavra (the bearded guy - head of Warhorse studio) is famous for holding his ground firmly agaist any modern alternation of game to please some activists. Historical accuracy is still no.1 priority - people, architecture, clothing, weapons (including that first handguns)
Not a lot of people know this because Hollywood never shows firearms in medieval movies but people were just starting to use them and especially the Hussites in Bohemia so that's actually pretty cool that Warhorse included the early ones in KCD 2.
Dan says Warhorse was 11 people in the beginning - when they were making prototype. But after Kickstarter campaign they started hiring as needed and when KCD released, the team was around 120 people. So now they have roughly twice as many, not 10 times as many. Still a huge increase, and Dan is not too happy about it due to increased bureaucracy, but to make such huge games larger team is necessary.
We need people for different things, but must be difficult to work with bigger teams. As long as the original people get to decide and keep the game with similar values as the old one I am happy
@@emonea yes, most of the leads from the first game are still there. I know art director Miki Podprocky left to make his indie game called Scribe and former cinematic director Martin Klekner left to make his Heroes of Bronze movie, but Dan, Viktor, Martin Klíma and others are at Warhorse making the second game.
There's already people crying about DEI and diversity but Vavra will not be moved. He says the metropolitan areas will be "more diverse" but they're still going to keep it historical.
@@vulgoalias4050 sadly most Americans have developed an "us vs. them" mentality, and see "white people" as a monolithic bloc. Which it hardly is. There's a lot of difference between, say, a Spaniard, a Finn, a Slav, an Irishman, a Frenchman, an Italian, etc. A lot of different history, culture, etc. Which I wish I knew more of. (And have learned a lot of through this game, and hope to learn more.)
Great reaction! I can’t wait for the game! I love the first one. They stayed with the cry engine so I would not expect a huge graphical jump (though lighting, skybox etc. already looks improved and there are other improvements). But the first game already looked great and now they can built on what they did with KCD1 and don’t have to rebuild all the systems in a new engine. So I bet this game has a lot of content and a very similar feel. I’m super excited for it!
It is unlikely that Jindřich (Henry) is going to be overpowered at the start of the game. The first game takes place on the country side where he is mostly fighting lowly bandits and small Cuman bands. At the end of the game Henry is more of a big fish in a small pond, around Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) there should be a lot of fish that are bigger than him.
Henry only fought cumans and bandits in the first game really. I believe he will start with a certain skill in combat but his opponents this time around will be more trained soldiers and knights that are far more skilled then the ones he fought around his small village. Which would make him less op in comparison without depowering him to much.
Also one small detail. It would make sense, that Henry can be at the end best fighter around KCD 1 small countryside. BUT there are not many real soldiers. Now in Kuttenberg and with real royal armies, Henry would be hardly capable to withstand in a long run to even a simple trained soldier, and definitely not for real masters.
I believe Henry is going to be inprisoned somewhere at the beginning od KCD2. Maybe inprisoned foe years. Thats why he is going to look that older. And maybe thats the explanatin for his need to learn to fight from the beginning in KCD2.
I think it is unfair to compare 2 so very different games. I enjoy both in their own way, but KCD is truly everything I have ever wanted from a game so I guess that answers it
Same! Trying to get everyone on board, but what I love about the kcd is that its not for everyone. Luckily interner excist to meet people with same interests :)
@@emonea It's not the divisiveness itself, but I guess it's just that some of the features of KCD make it divisive by nature. I've been a historical combat person for over a decade now, and a re-enactment and larp enthusiast too, so KCD felt like it was tailor made for people like me
Only on the background of dudes fighting on swords do I realize where I know @Emonea's face. I think she distracted me when I was jousting a dude back in the 13th century
I think the massive upgrade in graphics might be down to their parshal technical partnership with cloud emporium (studios making star citizen) I know they use a different fork of the same game engine (heavily modified cryengine) so have probably incorporated the facial render and animation systems at the minimum. ✌️&❤️
I have really high hopes for the sequel but I still get Bohemian Grove flash backs from the original... The game was only really built with the two handed longsword and maybe sword and shield in mind. Whenever Henry throws or kicks an opponent, he cannot reach them with his hammer or axe, and the opponent can recover quickly enough to land a critical counter strike. Henry can only stab from one direction (his left) stabbing an opponent in the face is the fastest way to end a fight with any weapon, even heavy armored knights with face plates. (the face is protected by the one plate and nothing else, regardless if the head is wrapped in cloth, mail and helmet) He can only stab from neutral if he is not in combat.

Your saves are not transferring over so skills or going down if you maxed out Henry it will drop after getting attacked and get locked up and lose everything I think.
@@emonea Not sure maybe you can tell from Knights arcade interview with Sir Tobi about KCD2 he said we would not start new but we can't Max Henry out in the first game. Then we would not be adding more to skills in KCD2.
To me there was one underlying theme in this video; DARK!! I can't help but believe there was a reason for it. A very BIG reason. I have ZERO information regarding this take and have no knowledge of anything game related but I think Henry, or Luke, or both, will die. I just get that kind of vibe from this video bc so much of it is SOOOOOO dark.
@LordHansCapon Hey!! Cheers to your success in KCD! Very happy to see Capon will be in the sequel, what a legend of a character 🤣. He was ALMOST as much of a character as Father Godwin!
Hilarious that UK Northerners are language stand ins for Slavic and Central Europeans. It confuses Americans. And the one other time when Europe was diverse was during the Roman Era. Latin rule.
Hi , funny how my youtube feed is now flooded with KCD content xDDD , still new channels (at least for me ), completely new players , kcd fans .. all united with enthusiasm for KCD2 . Fun fact : I've actually never left Skalitz , i bought KCD royal edition years ago... but for me it is much more fun to watch other people play . But its no go for me to not complete KCD1 by myself if there is already second game ahead . And yeah .. they're still using Cryengine .. just a bit rewritten :) why change something that worked well ? . Many people expected something like Unreal 6 or whatever , but it makes no sense for devs , they'd have been doing the game for 12 years instead of six.
I am sure game devs knows what is best and I love that they listen to the fans as well. I am very happy to get my YT feed flooded with KCD to meet more fans :)!

I like your video. Your reaction to the warhorse video is great. And just an advice, do visit Chech, it's a great country!
I will deffinetly visit Chech one day :)!
It's gonna be awesome. Btw. firearms were a thing in that time. Just not in a small town like Skalitz but surely in Kuttenburg..
@@MeAndMyFriendBovineTapeworm Thats not slavic, thats russian. Czechs have been using latin alphabet since 11th century.
@@CzechMirco Russian language is Slavic. Name itself is Slavic - it doesn't sound anything like Henry.
I guess that someone do not know difference between language and writing 😂
Love KCD! So happy to see a sequel
Same same!!
If you are from Finland , you should travel to Prague and then visit the real Kingdom Come places, definitely worth it :). In a month there is a Kingdom Come meeting in the real Rattay :D
This is on my bucketlist!
@@emonea You will not regret. :) I'm lucky that I live 80 Km away, I've been here three times and I'm going again. Especially the monastery in Sassau is great because after 600 years it is still the same. :D
@@emonea go
been going to Kutná hora (kuttenberg) for 4 years as I attended a high school there :D it indeed is a very beautiful town
Thats awesome!
I am happy to hear if they keep it historically accurate no matter what :)
Not a lot of people know this because Hollywood never shows firearms in medieval movies but people were just starting to use them and especially the Hussites in Bohemia so that's actually pretty cool that Warhorse included the early ones in KCD 2.
Its very interesting I have to look into it!
@@emonea Try this 😉 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_cannon
@@8Paul7 Imagine leaving KCD behind :O The best game ever
@@emonea Yeah, but I get that some people need change after spending 6 years on a project.
KCD has/is the best game I played in the last 10 years. Can't wait for part 2!
I agree with you!
@@emonea Plus, they need to add extra options to build for Pribyslavits. Would love that option.
Been watching people play #1 recently. Hadn't heard about this series before. #2 looks sick!
Hope you enjoy the first game, its amazing!
There's already people crying about DEI and diversity but Vavra will not be moved. He says the metropolitan areas will be "more diverse" but they're still going to keep it historical.
I dont minds it being "more diverse" as long as it is historically accurate othervice I lose respect for the game studio.
It means Germans, Poles, Austrians, Hungarians and so on.
@@UnclePengy half of those you mentioned weren't considered white until recently lmao
@@headstrong4203 tell that to your average American smdh
Great reaction! I can’t wait for the game! I love the first one. They stayed with the cry engine so I would not expect a huge graphical jump (though lighting, skybox etc. already looks improved and there are other improvements). But the first game already looked great and now they can built on what they did with KCD1 and don’t have to rebuild all the systems in a new engine. So I bet this game has a lot of content and a very similar feel. I’m super excited for it!
Thankyou :) I am also so excited!
Thats fair!
KCD is one my all time games alongside RDR2 jts one of most alive games of all time. Can not wait for KCD 2 its up their with GTA6 hype wise for me.
I am planning on playing RDR2 after my GTA V playthrough :) KCD has a special place in my heart of all games.
cool you are on TH-cam 😮
Yes I am :)
yes I can't wait... I actually 100% the first game. The game only got better on additional playthroughs, too.
If I had to 100% a game it would be kcd 😍 thats awesome!
is it better than My Summer Car?
Yes
I think it is unfair to compare 2 so very different games. I enjoy both in their own way, but KCD is truly everything I have ever wanted from a game so I guess that answers it
no, my summer car is a Human achievement
are there records of u playin KCD1 anywhere? id like to watch :)
I uploaded the vods to my twitch channel for you :) you can watch them, before they expire

I love these reactions. ❤ None of my friends seem to have even tried KCD, so I can't really hype with them.
I think the massive upgrade in graphics might be down to their parshal technical partnership with cloud emporium (studios making star citizen)
I know they use a different fork of the same game engine (heavily modified cryengine) so have probably incorporated the facial render and animation systems at the minimum.
✌️&❤️
Kingdom come community ♥️♥️♥️
The first game had a big number of features that there should have been. Lets see if they fixed them all
I have really high hopes for the sequel but I still get Bohemian Grove flash backs from the original...

Hello chat!
Hello!
Your saves are not transferring over so skills or going down if you maxed out Henry it will drop after getting attacked and get locked up and lose everything I think.
I hope they keep it well balanced!
Kingdom come😍
OP Henry in backwater Talmberg, is only a novice in the big city.
Kingdom come🙏♥️
Did you get we can forge our own weapons at least swords not sure about other weapons or armor.
They have soooo much more resources now.
I want to start of not as a piece of poop on people's shoes in the second game though I worked soooo hard to make him not poop 😂
I believe that you will start of better, but be against harder enemies for realism
No it's the same gaming engine 11 people to start but they had around 100 and something at the end of the first game.
I gonna drop a sup really quick

And also real life Hans, although he has put on a little weight😂
Yes that is ofc also awesome!
It's called getting old 🤣
@LordHansCapon Hey!! Cheers to your success in KCD! Very happy to see Capon will be in the sequel, what a legend of a character 🤣. He was ALMOST as much of a character as Father Godwin!
I'm going to call it Henry is not going to get his sword in this installment too, man is going to lose it again
Back to the Bohemian Grove...wait....
... :D
First one is best game ever, i can't wait new one.
I agree!

I like surprises :)
You can be just with Threasa just don't drink with Goodman and too not take off your shirt when helping the lady.
That is true, but on a first playthrough ifs impossible knowing that drinking with priest means smashing prostitudes and that trying on shirt means smashing. Was difficult on 2nd playthrough to avoid it :)
@@emonea it wasn't for me on second play through on the drinking with the Goodman I just said no. Same thing with the shirt but a TH-camr might be different because the people want to see that even though it might be blackout at parts.
bro...
everyone after they released it: They chadified Henry!
This girl: He looks like a baby.
He looks alot younger than in the last game that was shocking to me, but I guess more accurate :D
@@emonea everybody is saying he looks way older but you, but ok
He looks too old in both games. I suspect for this one, they rescanned all their actors and didn't know how or bother to de-age him. I think the same for the first one too.
@@geminicricket4975they did deage him a bit in this one.

But the real question is....Are you going to stay true to Theresa?
What are you talking about??? First game DID use real actors.
Yes, I am aware and I was amazed by that in this video :)
I wonder if the character stats gets transferred cause Henry sucked at the beginning of the first
Ah, another one of those "huge fans" that didn't even know that KCD I had face scans of real actors/people 😜. Daniel Vavra is also the face of Hanush of Leipa, if you look closely.
Not sure what your personal defintion of "fan is" :) I just love the game for what it is and a huge fan of everything I experienced. I do not research how games are made as I dont research how my favorite books were written. I simply enjoy them for what they are.
No same engine just higher up then in the first one
I tried to enjoy the first one, but the combat system was too hardcore for me. It was the closest modern thing to Gothic, even closer than what Piranha Bytes does nowadays.
Once you get higher level and learn the combat the game is awesome and rewarding, but most sadly quit during combat :(
@@emonea My reaction time is really bad, so it's not like I can master it properly. Eh, whatever, some things are simply not made for me and I'm okay with it. I keep meaning to go back to the game, though.
@@MeAndMyFriendBovineTapeworm If you think your reaction times are bad, get a gaming mouse and map "block" or master strike button to mouse 4. You will be much batter in KCD combat.
