Hi mam, i have question regarding PCC. as i got my passport issued in 2015 and i was leaving on a different address in india and now address on my other id proof is changed as i moved to another area in same city, do i have to change the address on my passport same as present address for police clearance certificate and passport clearance certificate . My wife have appllied for immigrant visa for USA.
No need to change the address on passport. They may go for police verification and post that PCC can be issued. My case was similar but I got my PCC on the same date and no police verification was done.

Actually, it depends on case to case basis and on the officer who is evaluating your case. In our case, address was different on passport from the permanent address but application got accepted. If the officer does not clear your case, then police official will visit your address to do the verification. But in most cases, applications get approved easily.

Hi Sundar- In most cases, they ask questions like why are u applying for PCC- Is it for permanent movement to Canada or Work? What is your permanent address and for how long u have been staying there? Where are u currently located? In our case, they just asked on our permanent address and issued the certificate. Also the number questions might vary from case to case basis and the officer who is assigned to u.

Hello- U need to apply for PCC online on passport seva website and book an appointment. Then, visit the passport office on the appointment date. In most cases, they will issue the PCC on that day itself but if they would have any doubt on your profile then someone will visit your address to verify. Post that u will have to collect the PCC.

Hello - I had my hometown address on my passport but lived in a different city in India. I got the PCC from my hometown city and it was done smoothly. Does that answer your question? Best is to get the PCC from the city i.e. the address mentioned on passport, we did that.
@@Gibs4evr what i understood is that PCC should be initiated only from the city mentioned in the passport. I heard the PSK will redirect you in such a manner. Also, once the PCC is initiated, the police will individually come to verify in our address mentioned in the passport.
Do they require any additional documents for Govt. Employees, like a NOC from department or something? Also like you said it is to be done for the last 10 years. But on IRCC website, nothing of that sort is mentioned. I think the PCC document issued by PSK also doesn't specify the time. Please help🙏

Because in my case while applying for Passport, PSK asked me for "Prior Intimation letter" that we need to submit as Govt employees to our department. I don't want to notify my department until the whole process is complete, so was skeptical.

If you are married they will ask for marriage certificate also..so please carry your marriage certificate also along with you.

Hi Sundar- In most cases, they ask questions like why are u applying for PCC- Is it for permanent movement to Canada or Work? What is your permanent address and for how long u have been staying there? Where are u currently located?
In our case, they just asked on our permanent address and issued the certificate.
Also the number questions might vary from case to case basis and the officer who is assigned to u.

Hello- U need to apply for PCC online on passport seva website and book an appointment. Then, visit the passport office on the appointment date. In most cases, they will issue the PCC on that day itself but if they would have any doubt on your profile then someone will visit your address to verify. Post that u will have to collect the PCC.

It is fine. You can get the pcc on your existing passports.

Hello - I had my hometown address on my passport but lived in a different city in India. I got the PCC from my hometown city and it was done smoothly. Does that answer your question? Best is to get the PCC from the city i.e. the address mentioned on passport, we did that.
Im certain that the pcc can be received from the passport address, but will any other psk also work

@@Gibs4evr what i understood is that PCC should be initiated only from the city mentioned in the passport. I heard the PSK will redirect you in such a manner. Also, once the PCC is initiated, the police will individually come to verify in our address mentioned in the passport.

Also like you said it is to be done for the last 10 years. But on IRCC website, nothing of that sort is mentioned. I think the PCC document issued by PSK also doesn't specify the time.

yes! No time is not mentioned on the PCC and you don't require any NOC or additional documents.
@@humpty02dumpty I really appreciate for your reply, I meant do the Passport office asks for additional docs from Govt employees before issuing PCC.
Because in my case while applying for Passport, PSK asked me for "Prior Intimation letter" that we need to submit as Govt employees to our department.
I don't want to notify my department until the whole process is complete, so was skeptical.
