I agree entirely with Aleksandar that without the classics is hard to really comprehend the contemporary nuances. The book that put me in contact with psychoanalysis at first was discipline and punish by Foucault. After going through Freudian, Lacanian and Kleinian texts, I went back to my Latin roots as a Brazilian and started with the locals as Virginia Bicudo (Brazil), Juliano Moreira (Brazil), Silvia Bleichmar (Argentina) and Frantz Fanon. Thank you for your content and the free transmission of Psychoanalysis. Warm regards.

I would start from some topic that especially peaks your interest. Like the first book i read was "Creativity and perversion" from Janine Chasseguet-Smirgel. Did i fully understood it? No, only later when i read more and understood the basics. But i was motivated by my need to understand some specific topics. While some introductory book would have probably bored me.

I love the discussion wit the three of you! I think I feel that way because there is a personal aspect to it. After listening to many of your lectures, it's nice to get a sense of your backgrounds and development. Thank you. I think one of the titles is "When Nietzsche wept." Or maybe the title gets translated differently. Anyway, I loved the back and forth between the three of you. I'm going to read a bunch of these--I can get a few at my local library and the rest (except one) are available through inter-library loan.

I have an odd starting place in Jungian psychology. I stumbled upon Thomas Moore's Care of the Soul in a public library, checked it out, and read it. I found it both deep and intriguing. From what I remember, Moore is in the Hillman tradition.
