I wonder would you shout me out if I pointed out an odd glitch I've found in this game. It seems most of the baskets or a pouch or whatnot you loot doesn't seem to yield any loot-ables. Well most of the time. I get a little more of them if I sell what has already been looted. But still most of what I loot doesn't show up. Ubisoft should be made aware of this glitch.
It's not super helpful, but a fully upgraded throwing knife can kill enemies in one shot from 109 meters.
The upgrades you need are Extended Range, Sharp Blade, and Light Blade.

How do you use the assassin focus ?
@@kennythii---Well first of all you need to Assassinate your first target that's a member of the Order of Ancients. And then afterwards you can push down on the right control stick of your controller and then press the RB button on your chosen targets till your satisfied and then push the B button to signal your ready. But that's my XBox controls that I just mentioned. It would probably work differently for PlayStation or PC.
Use the throwing knife skill that ignores armor to deal standard damage AND the skill that staggers enemies because it will also cause them to become dazed. One throwing knife to a mercenary will daze him, another will put him at low Hp then one swing will kill him. Brutes take one knife to daze and one power swing to kill. (Also have the 50% damage boost on throwing knives for maximum efficiency)

If you aim a tool (throwing knife, blowdart etc.) you accualy enter a cover mode, which means that for example if you stand next to a wall with a throwing knife or any other tool you can use them without enemies spotting you leaning from behind a cover. There are some neat combos you can do like standing next to a wall, aiming a knife at a guard, whistle to attract another one, headshot the guard further away and finish it with a cover corner assassination

here’s a tip: remap your controls!
hold R2 to sprint: not only is this reminiscent of classic AC games, but it gives you much more reliable control over your speed. with the default left stick toggle, the game will automatically deactivate sprint depending on which parkour moves you make, but it’s inconsistent so you can’t accurately predict when to click it again to resume sprinting. you may even deactivate it yourself w/o realizing at first. it may seem like a small issue, but in high intensity situations it can greatly effect how much ground you can cover within a set time. this remap will allow you to have full control of when you’re sprinting or not. the only conflict is the tool wheel, but i moved that to left on the Dpad and moved eagle vision to L3 and that’s been working very well for me.
move assassination to triangle: the default of having attack and assassination on the same button comes with the infuriating result of occasionally accidentally swinging your sword when you meant to assassinate, immediately breaking your stealth. remapping to a separate button like triangle will avoid this. the only conflicts are pickpocketing and kickback, which can both be moved to X on PS or A on Xbox with no apparent conflicts, regardless of the game warning.

You can actually destroy the horn of the hornbearers whenever they try to use it, but also when they are walking around, and they haven't spotted you, you can throw a knife at the horn on their belt. Doing either of these for the first time actually gives you an achievement/trophy. Also, whenever one of these hornbearers has a key, and you pickpocket them, Basim apparently also steals the horn, so it's always funny to hear them say 10 seconds later "My horn! Someone has taken my horn!". You can't pickpocket these guys in any other situation though, unfortunately.

Always loved smoke bombs and berserk darts in AC games. Throwing knife headshots are the best as well. No need for combat when you have all of this stuff.

Save at the beginning then reload it whenever u wanna replay the story mission gotta retrieve everything back unless u save @ a specific point of a mission :(
Some useful tips I didn't know/haven't tried yet. I haven't liked the combat in this game as much as others, but guess it is meant to be more of a stealth game. My current favourite move is using the noisemaker to gather a bunch of enemies to one area, and then throw the poison smoke bomb at them to wipe them all out on one go. You can clear areas fairly quickly with that, and then finish off the leftovers with berserker darts or sneaking up behind them.

I’ve not seen this QoL trick online anywhere, but when buying resources from a trader instead of holding right bumper to go all the way to 100/300 use the left bumper once to instantly go to 100/300 from 1!

Cool move: Do the backwards dive from a viewpoint, press focus to freeze in mid air, and then teleport to kill targets on the ground. Looks very cool.

using the lethal upgrade combined with the whistle trigger for the trap can help you bypass any kind of area that would usually require an oil jar just place it down where you need an explosion step back and whistle and you are free to go, a bit niche yes but still really helpful

Assassin Focus in midair feels amazing, especially if you're trying to get to an out of reach area, like the garrison

When carrying objects/bodies, sliding constantly (spamming the crouch button while moving) is faster than the normal jogging speed. Helps a lot when you need to hide enemies but you're about to be spotted.

So the combat does look cool when u master it. So many You Tubers doing walkthroughs really don't know how to play the game.
There is a trick to pickpocketing the artifacts too, just knock out the npc with the blowdart and quickly loot. You get no heat and instant, garunteed pickpocket

When you are falling, if you hold X button on playstation or A button on Xbox, you can roll better. It's like that, you hold the button to jump from a high place, release the button after the jump then when the you are falling you hold again. It will become a better roll. More smooth and professional. Try that

It DOES tell you about reflecting/parrying projectiles. It was a little popup tutorial early on.
I wish somebody would make a mod that either makes it so killing the mercenary doesn't reset wanted level, or level 3 spawns multiple mercenaries at once. I just love fighting those types of enemies.
Cool trick: Throw the torch, and then the upgraded flammable smoke bomb to set groups of enemies on fire!

I thought that was automatic if you unlock a certain skill
@freezefun the skill only makes you do a slow roll that takes less fall damage. Pressing x right before landing makes you do a quick roll with the sane fall dmg

this is the first time i've been disappointed with an ac game, i liked the gameplay but i swear other than the beginning and the end there was no story or character motivation in between, so like 80-90% of the game was go here investigate this guy and assassinate them(unless i missed something) although i figured out the mirage part 1/4 of the way through the story
the first time i beat the dual swords tough enemy dude was by using a smoke bomb that had both fire and poison damage and then i kept slashing him too it was kinda overkill 😂😂

Just so people know, there's only 1 enemy you CAN NOT hidden blade assassinate and that's the mercenary for your notoriety.
The game does tell you that you can parry projectiles though...

I just 100%'d the game at just over 30 hours. I saw the Mercenary twice lol. Almost pointless in the game.
Adding a stamina bar was such a bone headed decision. The concept is universally reviled, it doesn't add realism, it just breaks the flow of what is already sub par combat compared to past games in the series. Seriously, why is it even a thing in this game? What does it add to the experience?

it depends on what outfit you have, not every outfit has a black variant the only one i found is the black variant of the rostam outfit. any other black outfits are in the store unfortunately
Some of the enigma treasure maps award outfit dyes. I think I used IGN"s guide to get them all (bypassing most of the talisman enigmas, ha).
