You earn every cent you make on farming. That winter is bitter...while we're watching the video in a warm house. We are all so Blessed by God. Merry Christmas!
Oh my I’m sending my thoughts and prayers to you all and the livestock!!!! Most folks don’t realize how cold and snowy the Dakotas get in the winter…Even though the cows are well insulated and snow lays on their backs….it’s still quite a shock to have all the snow and cold blustery winds…Thank God for tractors with cabs and that start when it’s cold…We always plugged our tractors and vehicles in when it’s winter…Please stay safe and warm….Is your snow wet or it is dry like it is in Wyoming…Wyoming’s snow is dry in the winter and more wet in the spring….They say Chicago is the Windy City…they have never been to the Dakotas and Wyoming…..Great video….Thank you…❤
I'm witnessing something great on your channel Carson!! Wholesome family with good American ideals and excellent stewardship of our outdoors, planning for future generations to build on, never ever see content like this in the news channels anymore. Bless you and your family!!
Can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. To be able to take care of animals that depend on you and look for you every day has got to be one of the neatest things there is and to get done at the end of the day and know they are content and full is great . Have a great holiday and remember the reason for the season. God bless you and your family
I really appreciate you and your family , Carson! The world needs to know the sacrifice good stewardship is all about…where their food comes from and all the hard work and dedication ….God bless y’all ! stay safe!
Tip my hat to You for letting us see just what You go through out there braving the elements! Can’t believe how calm and collected You are in the face of the dangers that nature presents!!! Stay safe out there!! Blessings for Your family 🙏🏻 ❕❕
New subscriber here. Much respect for you and yours. Thank you for taking us with you as you braved the elements to take care of your livestock. My arthritic body sure wouldn't let me do it. This 38° weather here in Missouri has me hurting. Ya'll have some good looking cattle.
Hey brother. I’ve been praying for y’all and the ranch during this storm. Thanks for taking us along to see what you’re dealing with. We get an inch of snow here and it just about shuts the state down lol. I can even imagine dealing with that much that you have. Stay safe dry and warm as possible. I’ve come to think of you as family. Praying for you all. Give my warmest regards to everyone. Love you guys. Your brother in Christ.
New subscriber here..being raised in the suburbs I never got to see farming up close so it's really neat to see a first hand look at what you guys do and go through. Tons of respect for what you do..thanks for sharing a part of your life.
Pray for your safety and for your animals. I truly enjoy enjoy watching your activities as you share them with us. Merry Christmas and may the new year be wonderful for your family, especially with your new little guy.
My nephew in Basin Wyoming has Lewis Adventures….He has a big business of duck hunters that come in from all over to hunt geese and ducks….This picture off all these geese would be heaven to him…Lots and lots of geese….One big dark cloud of them….😮
With all the drought we've been having in South Dakota and other areas, it surely would have been nice to have gotten at least SOME of this precip in warmer months!
Some roasted duck for Christmas dinner sounds good!!!! Glad you got through the blizzard. Stay safe and warm during the cold spell. Merry Christmas to all of you.
Your video came up for the very first time in my so called “feed”, lol, today. I was just watching my fav channel of Dagley Ranch when that happened. How YT decides what happens where in promoting videos seems a mystery overall, HOWEVER, I am so grateful and amazed that U can now see another perspective to this, punch in your face, everyday reality of life that most likely, north of 90% of our people would AUTOMATICALLY retreat from!!!!! I admire your get down on it and conquer it spirit… 1:27 . Wow, truly Amazing!!!…… 💕ALL that you can attitude and action!!! THAT IS EVERYTHING!!! Ple
Cattle looking good. Can't imagine such extreme weather though. Its a little warmer in the hills of WV. A lot easier to feed our cattle. You get more snow in one day than we get in a year.
My family is from So. Dakota and my Grand father said sometimes it would be so cold and the snow was so deep they had to keep the cattle in side huge feeder barns. But he had lots of rancher stories lol.
I watched your show yesterday and went to sleep think about those cows and how cold it is love those cows when as young raised mon farm had to milk 5 head before going to my first year in high school it would be so cold that milk would frezze in the air, you guys stay ,warm
Wow!!!! Remember when you were a kid jumping in those drifts. It was fun then but not now. We got a little snow last night but Thursday the prediction is for heavy snow . It is going to get cold also. I see in British Columbia it is -40C! Gosh hope you don't get that. Keep warm and bundle up. Hi to Damaris and baby. We live in South Western Ontario Canada
We are getting the storm now. It is so cold and the wind is vicious. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope Santa finds his way through the snow to your house!!!
The cold and snow makes everything twice as hard to get done. Especially down here where we are. We just don't have the equipment to deal with it. Hope yall have a Merry Christmas.
Hi Carson, wow that was a massive drift that you plowed through with your truck. It was crazy how much snow accumulated on the hood of your truck. I think the Blizzard you had is coming our way in Northwest Indiana late Thursday Night into Friday. It is supposed to get bitterly cold here after that. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas and best wishes for a Heathy and Happy 2023.
My hat's off to you folks. I live in northern lower Michigan and we have a lot of lake effect snow and cold weather but not like you have for cold and wind.
No one around to bring me lunch, so it’s a root beer and a wagbar while I’m watching your latest. We are expecting an artic blast on Wednesday night through Thursday. Stay warm and Merry Christmas!
I’m about to head out into this same stuff here in Montana in a few minutes to feed horses and other livestock. We’re supposed to be -22 tonight. Keeping everyone fed and watered is priority. The house dogs can barely get out the front door to go out right now. Stay safe out there!!!
Ol' Ma Nature wanted us to remember she's in control for sure. Thankful for the moisture and that it's not calving season. 😉 That herd of ducks you've got there is insane! Fats look really good & happy to hear the pen sold well. Big fellas!
Getting bitter cold here in Powell, Wyoming. Today, Tuesday December 20, expected high is going to be 8°F and low of -5°F. Livestock Warning for Wednesday through Friday afternoon. Wind chills here Wednesday through Friday could reach -50°, so be safe out there. Does your hired hand have a family.? To everyone at the Sleep Ranch, Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas
Thanks for the video Carson 👍 I feel for y'all in all the bad weather but that's part of it. We are supposed to get real cold here next few days I hope y'all have a merry Christmas. Stay safe
Thanks for the video. I have friends that live outside of Union Center SD and have always admired there lives out on the prairie. Down to earth and the most honest trustworthy people I know. It's a life that most people aren't even conscious of. I have lots of admiration of ranchers and farmers.
8:33 AM Tuesday 12/20/22 That’s some cold cold up there…. real Cowboy weather LOL We will get the storm down here in Texas this weekend they say. Friday mornings low is predicted to be 5* . No moisture and that’s good because it would be ICE not snow. Carson we here at the Wadsworth house wish you and yours up there a very Merry Christ’mas and a Happy New Year’s too to all be blessed
@@sleepranch well our low this morning was 9* . Got some snow yesterday but thank God no ice or accumulation of snow for with the 45-50 MPH winds it could not lay on ground long. I know y’all were lower and beaucoup more snow.
Hey Carson! So interesting to see what exactly you and the family are going through with our last blizzard. You are doing a great job with your channel. May God continue to watch over you all and protect your family and cattle. -The Calderons
Hey Carson, Well it's our turn here in Wisconsin this week lots of snow coming with big wind, there talking blizzard conditions so lots of extra work coming our way. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Made me chuckle when you said that people would work out what you made on the number of cattle sold. How many would want to be working the hours you have to put in and in those conditions?
Got up in Vegas to freezing temperatures this morning but watching your day makes me think that this is nothing compared to your day and duties, great video on your part lots to enjoy, and its good to watch your Dad make all the calls and you following orders and learning at the same time. I think you need to get some curtains on your house just for the winters only it looked cold seeing your wife and future farmer safe inside. I wouldn't want curtains in better weather so I could see all the views, sunset etc. Did you get rid of your horse? Loved this video.
I know you guys are running around like crazy today and getting ready for this next super cold front coming in this week. We had 21 below zero wind chill here this morning but that will feel like a heat wave compared to Wed-Thursday! yikes! Over a foot of new snow, high wind and blizzard conditions BUT! the predicted windchill values up here are 50-60 below zero!!! I remember dealing with those levels when I lived in Alaska but I really dont like it AT ALL! We are trying to get hay stacked in for cattle, wind breaks solid and every kind of heater wecan find to put on tractor, trucks and ATVs. Please be safe my friend and take good care!!!
@@sleepranch Merry Christmas to you all as well my friend! Just had -58 wind chills and total white out conditions and praying for you all now since the storm is over your way now. Be safe and warm!
You guys don’t have shelter for the cattle to go to to be out of the blizzard. You could build a shelter that folds up holds about 400 cattle then after the winter is over we dissemble the shelter or have rollers to move it.We always plug our batteries in to keep charged and solar heaters for water troughs. But the way it looks on video black hills national forest is a ruff place in winter time. Wow can’t believe you guys got snow and Indiana didn’t hardly get much snow . What we got was a week then got in three days. Keep safe and warm.
Praying the Good Lord keeps y’all safe and secure. That’s a rough job you’ve got but I don’t recall you ever complaining. You’re always Thankful! Wish there were more young men ( even my grandsons) like you. Have a Blessed Holiday Season.
Watching you buck the drifts in your truck, wade through hip high drifts to get panels, and then seeing the wind whip that snow around ... My heart goes out to you. That's a really tough job. I'm not young enough to do that anymore, but I've seen my share of those temps. What is the composition of those cake pellets? I am dreading finding out how you are going to do during the upcoming really, really, dangerously frigid weather. I'm down here in southern Texas, and even here, WE are going to get temps in the 20°s. Our palm trees are going to lose all their fronds again ... People with banana trees will have to replant. Except for those with blue bananas. Those are from the uplands of Guatamala. They can withstand temps below freezing.
I used to enjoy snow storms, no idea why I was that insane. Cattle are looking good. Glad your green equipment is starting for you, our old 3010 started well down to zero but still plugged it in. We had about zero last night now it is up to 12 but the wind is pretty calm here yesterday and today. I admit I have not stepped outside for 2 days, not fond of the temps that low anymore. The snowdrifts if they connect would be awesome for snowmobiling, used to have a lot of fun doing that. Glad your pickup got through the drifts it is never fun in the cold digging under a vehicle. Used to oven roast duck and keep a sauce pan with red wine and butter warm to baste and inject the duck, it gets some of the grease out and tastes good. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and stay safe and healthy.
Can't wait to go visit you guys during the winter to work with you all. I am about to cut and Bale our hay. We are going to FREEZE so I need to Cut ASAP to save what we have. Merry Christmas to you, your family and all of your great Viewers. Blessings to all.
The animals do fine in the little valley areas and will be buried in snow and be happy. That is why he mentioned digging the cows out you want them out and moving around so the eat.
I have been thinking about you all over the last week with this blast of severe winter. Some good size cattle you took to sale and the market finally moving a bit higher is a good thing. Stay warm as you can later this week, looks like just about everyone is getting a real cold snap.
For those watching this video, you are witnessing what real men are, God bless them.
Thanks Denny, God Bless!

Sounds like a great tractor and that duck sounds amazing! Merry Christmas Badger Pa!
I just don't know how you do it! Impressive!

Where do Bison, Elk, Moose, Deer and Pronghorn go during blizzards?
No kidding! Into the fur huggers barns, of course!🤣
The animals do fine in the little valley areas and will be buried in snow and be happy. That is why he mentioned digging the cows out you want them out and moving around so the eat.
Far out Brussels sprout
Might wanna brake check that bonnet snow .... you know 😂
I have been thinking about you all over the last week with this blast of severe winter. Some good size cattle you took to sale and the market finally moving a bit higher is a good thing. Stay warm as you can later this week, looks like just about everyone is getting a real cold snap.
Thank you! Stay safe and warm!
U are doing a great job in stormy weather. U deserve a good price on ur beef
Thanks Bill!
If you had some fur trees they would provide cover from the wind for the cattle, or maybe some earth mounds blocking northwinds.
Yeah that would help!
