smart man with the thumbnail lol
Always.
YOU SCORED BIG TIME!!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LS MOTORS!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING. I LEARNED SO MUCH.
Ha, I've been to this salvage yard. Had fun times there!
for guy reasons i love watching engines go from junkyard to running at a garage
good team work you guys. nice score
Thanks for these videos
Awesome ! Can't wait to Crack'em Open 🎁☮️
Nice score guys…..
That truck work the hell out you guys can’t believe they made those motors. That tight to get out
Those motor mounts seem absurdly over engineered.
They keep walking past because there is a unicorn in the yard, not the motor, a pretty lady without a mustache in a junkyard.
I think it's awesome that you do it you remind me so much of me when I was young
That engine hoist kart is so cool!
You two are Awesome!! Moma Gear head in there wrenching.....
Hope to see a exploratory video on the core engine.
Incoming
When Travis don’t want it, he’ll chuck it real quick 😂
Awesome thumbnail! 😊
Lady you're a rock star not scared of hard work
Yeah, plus she's hot as fuck.
Hey have some respect bro
a girl that likes ls walks junkyard wrenches without gloves and gets dirty what a woman lol lucky man but she seems like a lucky woman too cheers
Lol
I just said the last time she definite Doesn’t mind to get dirty , how cool is that , I used to do that when I was younger getting in the junk and pulling parts and fixing cars at home
Double or triple the car drove by your money just parts were way cheaper than
@@meradu2 unfortunately I got hurt at work. I can't do my own work no more. It sucks
travis yall.are the best i love it the boys back here in va geting all of them for drag racing makeing big hp. love from bedford va
Have you ever put up a tool list for trips to the yard when pulling an engine
On the old channel yes, but I’ve been thinking about doing another one.
Check the core bin for 4L60E. Almost always one there
Just curious how long does it take you to do that
Do what?
@@travisblack417 convince the wife to join you in the yard.... I'm guessing he is asking how long it takes to pull the motor.
LKQ changed the policy no part transmissions or engines. even if component was blown up
Al you mini um for the win!
Y’all staying busy I like the content looking forward to see the Denali pull out 👌🏼are you going to sell that truck 5.3 engine
I have another 5.3 for sale if you’re interested
@@travisblack417 is it a truck gen3 5.3 ?
I have a gen4 5.3 and gen 3 6.0 currently. I doubt I’ll have a gen 3 5.3 for sale ever due to how they’re too cheap to be worth it.
@@travisblack417 how much for the gen3 6.0 & what’s done to it?
@@fastboyguero554 it’s just a shortblock currently. I have the heads as well. Dm me on IG
I have that same 5.3 in my 07 saab 97x wish I could've sean you remove the awd front wheel half shafts, it's preventing me from swapping engines.
DO A REMAKE FOR THE DENALI 👏👏👏👏
Where did u get that metal cable u use to tie to motor to the hoist? Kinda want one 🤭
I found it in the yard lol
so you're the reason i never find any for my OBS swaps
Buy one from me
Did you guys ever try to get your hands on a LH9? All aluminum flex fuel 325ci 300hp...
If not why not? I just never hear you mention these.
The LH9 is functionally identical to the LH6. The only difference is stock injector size (36lb vs 30lb)
@@travisblack417 when you say functionally identical, we're talking cathedral ports, all aluminum, what other intakes can I bolt onto this directly to get greater air flow? I keep seeing people posting at LS6 intakes will fit but as far as I can tell that's a rectangle port not cathedral.
I've been stalking your channel for a long time hoping for a little bit of insight into how I can upgrade my V8 Colorado with factory parts so I can still claim it's all factory.
I do have aftermarket exhaust, volant cold air, and diablo EX platinum... Looking to build towards a spicy E85 tune, if that exists.
Any ideas you're willing to share?
@@thissiteadmin watch the video where I tear down both of these engines that I pulled. I explained it in pretty great detail. Basically despite having 12 different 5.3 RPO codes, there is only 2 different 5.3 engines. The LH8/LH9 in your Colorado is the “high performance” variant that first debuted in 2005 with the L33/LH6/LS4. By 2007 all 5.3’s were this higher performance variant. The higher performance variant has floating wrist pins, flat top 3.780 pistons (10.0cr), cathedral 243/799 heads (64cc), and most have the “TBSS” style intake. Most of the different RPO codes just refer to the application the engine came in, or irrelevant stuff like block material or e85/gasoline.
Btw the “low performance” variant is the LM7/LM4/L59. These early engines have dish pistons (9.5cr), mostly pressed wrist pins, 706/862 heads (61cc), and all have the early style of truck intake manifold.
@@travisblack417 yo! Great info! Also, I've watched every video on the channel 😂
Any recommendations on a gm part number intake that fits? 92mm?
@@thissiteadmin there is no manifold that is going to perform better than the current one you have. Even the high/low ram manifolds only make more power because they give up a ton down low. Your current throttle body is 87mm which is more than enough. If you want more power out of that thing it needs cam.
I have a 2003 Chevy suburban with a 5.3L vin: Z what do you think is it worth it installing it in a C 10 Chevy
Of course, just make sure to convert the fuel rail the the 2004 and later returnless style. My other videos go into more depth about this.
what years have the aluminum engine blocks?
Years of what? Trailblazers? All of them with v8’s. 2003-2009
What vehicles should I be looking for that have an aluminum block? Seems it's hard to find that info online.
Any trailblazer type vehicle with a v8 is aluminium. Technically some 05-06 silverados have an aluminum block but that’s pretty rare. After that it’s an option in some SUV’s but that’s all too new to be in these yards.
@@travisblack417 thanks for the reply. Been waiting for a Trailblazer, Envoy Rainier to pop up, but no luck yet. Not sure if there was anything else I should be looking for. Need an alloy engine or my boat to keep the weight down.
What does a complete engine cost out there in California?
Less than I’ll sell you one for
What's a 1999 Z28, 5.7 LS1 with 130,000 you figure in triple black? Thank you love your content
Manual? Whatever someone is willing to pay. This economy is getting rough lol
@@travisblack417 Automatic!
Hi question watt well you charge for a complete 6.0 let me now I’m interested
Send me a message on IG
The converter was it dead or did it just die because of the engine collector.....
There is no value in a junkyard 5.3 converter. If you’re that deep into a car you might as well just get a brand new one.
@@travisblack417 I usually get a new one but I do not destroy things around me..... just saying.
I would be interested in the oil pan if you want to sell it.

Is this sun valley Idaho?

Near new? Interesting description
What happened with liv?😢

Didn't you have a channel with a different female ?
Yes I did lol. I got kicked off of that one
@@travisblack417 well, keep on keeping in brother ! I sub'd
Where you find women like that, cuh?
The psychiatric ward
Why are you using the ls engine it's the worst engine ever made that's why there so many in the junkyard ask cletus how many he has blown up there garbage engine it's like throwing your money in the fire 🔥 it will blow up they always do .
Why do you say this
@@lancelanphier9509 because it's true every single channel there ls is blown up or being rebuilt
I follow a guy named "Richard holdener" on yt. He does every test imaginable on just about every engine imaginable; and of course does even more with LS engines.
He shows what the weak points are on each motor and does Big bang tests to find out at what power level they grenade and what breaks. It's usually the Gen 3 motors the rods are the weak link.
As long as the rings are gapped at .008/inch of bore space and they are Gen 4 rods, they will handle upwards of 30 lb of boost with stock bottom end. Well over 1000 HP and up to 1400 sbe
Love watching you find these junkyard motors! Now I want to go find an LS motor for my truck!
