Thank you for mentioning that because there has been so many good scifi shows thru the years that i loved only to get cancelled. Yes - Awesome that they completed this one. If only they would not cancel ever again. . . .
The ending they chose for the story was bitter, but very, very classical science fiction. I think that the likes of Asimov or Frank Herbert would have approved.
Well they were both cancelled I imagine it's just that these days it's proper to cancel a show in the first half of a new season so that the writers can scrape together some sort of ending, hence why so many finales often seem rushed by trying to tie up 90 loose ends in 8 episodes.
@@krashd the reason so many finales are bad is not (only) about shows being cancelled, it's about head writers not knowing where it's gonna end from the get go. Think about LOST : it wasn't "cancelled", it lasted for many years, and the ending is a pile of nonsense, and non-resolutions.
@@timytimeerased Yes it is that often writers have to rush finales due to not knowing if a show will be renewed or not or they know it will be canceled (last example we have in scifi is The Expanse, we missed the bloodbath in the ring and they had to rush on the explanation of what was happening and give a decent finale in case the show was cancelled, like it was, thank God Amazon decided to go on). If I'm not mistaken, BSG should have been a 5 seasons project, but Sify decided otherwise (like too many other times with many decent/good shows cancelled over the years) so they had to rush things a little. For me the 4th season was great too, only the finale felt a bit rushed, but acceptable. LOST is completely another story, it began like a 1-2 seasons project, then the success made the producers think about a longer run, the problem was that in the end the writers KNEW they had 3 seasons before the end of the show, and instead of start wrapping things up, they continued to add bullshit EVERYONE knew they would have not explained in the end, because there was literally no time to do that in a few episodes in the last season. However, it's not always easy to create a great finale, many excellent shows never had a good one. On one hand, we, as fans, get used to so much quality that we always expect more and more and probably "overhype" what should happen, and we are never happy with how things go, and writers can't make everyone happy. On the other hand, it's not always easy to maintain the same quality when you can develop a story in a long run, which is "easier", or when you have to do it in a shorter period or have to wrap things up. In a perfect world it could be possible if you are sure that a show will not be cancelled etc, so you can plan everything following the initial project in every way, but we all know writers, like producers, actors and everyone else involved, don't have that luxury...
I didn’t even know about battlestar galactica when it was aired, i watched it years after it ended. I bindged watched it and loved it, its one of my favourite series of all time as well.
I used to watch it on bootleg DVDs in Bulgaria back when it started airing in 2004-2005, me and my mom were fans. Sadly, we only got to S03 but then 7-8 years ago I remembered how good it was and rewatched the whole thing. It blew me away. It lived to the hype I had when I was 13. Definitely one of my most favourite series of all time.
Edward James Olmos I think was one of the best parts in the whole series..the development and the way he displayed the weight and ware of the of that type of responsibility . That’s thing about a series and a really good seasoned actor that character development.
My father was an actual F-14 pilot who went on o be the captain of an aircraft carrier (USS Eisenhower) and then an admiral of CARGRU 6 (a carrier battle group). He said to me after seeing the show, "Either he got great coaching from the Navy or he is the greatest actor ever. That is EXACTLY how it works and how you act as a commander."
Honestly, to this day it still bothers me that Starbuck slept with Baltar . I had such a crush on Starbuck, and it felt at that time as though she had cheated on me and I had walked in and caught them. But such was the impact tv had on its viewers back then
The only person I could see in this role other than James Callis is the guy who played lex Luther in Batman vs Superman watching battlestar galactica today and Gaius reminds me of him heaps
John Colicos maybe? (The Original/classic Baltar actor? Obviously he was a a slightly different character but I think John was a talented enough actor to embody the diversity of the updated character.
@@vector409 I would not go as far as you, but I did not like it. I think they got lost with the final Cylons thing, almost as if they did not storyboard it when they said there were 12. Season 4 was not cohesive. Were they expecting one more season?
The only things wrong with BSG was that they got a little bit over obsessed with the final five and it was dragged out for a season longer than it should have been. I thought the ending was a great resolution to the story.
I started watching BSG with some misgivings. I watched the original as a kid and didn't think it would be very good. I was so wrong. In my opinion this was among the best dramatic productions ever made. The entire cast delivered stellar performances in every episode. I openly wept during the final installment. Very touching.
totally agree. It filled the hole in my heart left by the ending of the West Wing. And it was kind of West Wing in space. I thought it was completely stunning.
I am glad there was a "Reboot" and I also was very sad when the Original BSG was cancelled. I was 18 at the time and it was shocking to see and hear that. I loved the show and it was right there with Star Trek for me. However, I found the 2nd one to be TOO dark and depressing. In the Original I always felt good at the end of each show that they were "Fighting the good fight" but many times after watching the Reboot I would be very depressed and thinking "Frack humans we do not deserve to live at all" we are so vile and Evil.
The Moore-Eich version won a Peabody award, which told me this Sci-Fi series was going to be respected. Battlestar Galactica was the first Sci-Fi TV show to win a Peabody award and showed me that somebody honored the material for being faithful and adult. 😮😮❤❤😊😊
I didn't want to like it because I didn't like how the Galactica looked. It looked very weird to me. The original Galactica looked so amazing. But in all honesty the acting for BSG TOS was total crap. So were the effects. So were the plots and scripts. The reboot was SOOOO much better. I was completely hooked when Prez Roslin had to order the fleet to jump, while leaving behind the ships that couldn't jump. I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL! Wow. That was intense.
I remember when I first watched it. The whole part where they couldn't get a break from the cylons following them for days after each jump I was like "damn this show's serious" lmao.
I just loved Tricia's work in BSG. She had such a huge range, playing so many versions of 6. And she did it with such subtle acting choices, bringing each version to life in a different way. What a talented actor.
Listening to her; she demonstrates WHY the series was so good. They honestly cared about the story and became their characters. They were a family heavily invested in their world. This series is in my top ten greatest series. I cried when Roslin died while Adama is decribing where they will live their lives. So many good moments in this series. I just don't know if this re-boot can be done. It's going to have to have mature writers. The series isn't about space. It's about family,
Still drop dead gorgeous...and has the talent to match. How she isn't a leading lady in Hollywood is beyond me. She has a good career, but she deserves superstar status.
@@Tone_Of_Dials All i can think is how absolutely and thoroughly hashtag-cancelled BSG would be if it were released today. Too many traditional strong male characters and too many deep challenging questions about God for the average blue checkmark.
@@Hadgerz I wouldn’t think so. With good writing and good deeply rooted characters you can make any story be liked even though it’s not to the actual social standards we « think » are the norm today.
@@Hadgerz not at all would it be canceled. This was a strong show in every way and it holds up great. I would love to see this show released with the social media we have today. I think it would have blown up and been a phenomenon.
Tricia Helfer, one of the most impressive actors in the world! I've rarely seen an actor able to communicate such a vast range of emotions and personalities, from terrifying anger to subtile hints of uneasiness, badass warrior to tender mother, seductress, strong leader, funny girl, impulsive rebel, serious intellectual, religious fanatic... Just in BSG, Helfer played so many different characters, yet I would recognize the character instantly only by her posture, her demeanor, voice modulation or facial expression. She even made me forget her BSG characters all had the se face lol, she was like a different actress in each role! She has my utmost admiration.
That's great observations! Her beauty sometimes overrode her acting. You are quite correct in her multifle characterizations. I've watched series several times, alog with Razorm, Caprica and Blood and Chrome and feel like this series has the second greatest cast of all time, first being Firefly. I loved every single one of the people in the series. Ms. Helfer captured me for good when she shielded aius Baltar from the initial blast. Then she turns in ALL these otther performances for all the other versions of her. A great director for getting that nuance in,
Watching TV, daughter in my lap, was a painless no-fuss way to put her to sleep. This was back in the early 80s, so the shows were different. I may try this approach with my new grandson.
Those were the nights, SG-1, SGA, BSG....and a toddler getting to bed, with a baby being held on the couch....while thinking how hot Tricia Helfer was, and she still is.
It's amazing and they shouldn't mess with it. Lazy, uncreative fucks can't come up with anything new so they just remake and reboot stuff. It's infuriating.
I am 48 so as a kid I watched the original in 78 I loved it I was 7 years old Robots spaceships almost every episode was wrapped up in an hour. When the newer series came out in 2004 I was just stunned. They made it into one amazing series the cast changes the plot changes, they gave it so much more depth rather than your standard shoot'em up humans vs robots series. Edward James Olmos did a fantastic job as Adama and I absolutely love Lorne Greene... I watch that series over and over whenever I can, I really do not think I can watch the Reboot as soon as it comes out I will have to give it some time. To me the second series was perfection where do you go from there?
So strange, quality out of the blue in the day and age of quick cheap buck. You got a really nice and dramatic surprise. Great writers, It's very close to the time of the big writer strike as well. I would be wary of another reboot since the bar has been set nice and high.
The 2004 series was suspenseful, but reflecting on it the plot was almost always the same, too much overacting, too much sex added for no reason, too many cliches, etc.
I will admit, the biggest part I disliked of the 2004 show, was they made the Cylons a human creation. Ugh, that destroyed the BSG universe and made it blah. Add in what I call the shaky camera and to this day can barely watch it without screaming at the camera to stop zooming in and out. So annoying and honestly takes me right out of the scene.
I loved the original as a kid. My punishment if I got in trouble was no Battlestar for that week, I was devastated. But don't rewatch it. You will shatter your rose tinted glasses, it doesn't hold up well.
Yah the ending was MAD RUSHED it was intriguing but I wanted to know more about the cylons and their progression to sentience and their depth of character, how does avatar Zoe lead what are essentially her people?
@@domonator5000 I mean more than rushed they had years left of material that they wanted to do. I personally loved Caprica. It was definitely a slow burn especially at the start, but it did have very good world building and was just getting better.
BSG is still alive, watched first watch through in 2018 and fell in love with every facet of it, the music, cinematography the lot and I'm excited for the new as it seems it's going to be set in the existing universe of The 04 reimagined BSG Tricia was in
Big luv for Caprica Six!! Tricia was amazing... not only hot as hell (like the Goddess of Creation... 😎😎🤩🤩) but also brilliant as a character and in acting. Needless to say: I grew up on the original show, loved it so much... then BANG ... BSG comes around and blows me away... every single episode. We all, my dear friends, were witness to some extraordinary piece of filmmaking. And I am just very, very grateful for this.
I think this series had one of the best endings to any series of all time. It was an amazing series with great writing that kept you invested in the characters from episode one till the very end. I think that the ending was very much a good ending, very few things were left unanswered and the end to the story marks a strong homage to the beginning of the story and the overall theme of the show. Unlike terrible endings to great shows like Game Of Thrones or Dexter, this series finale was the best serving, satisfying, and justified ending one could hope for.
"Perfect reboot" is the phrase you were looking for. I think that BSG is the best Sci-Fi of the last 30 years. However The Expanse is amazing and Im torn between which I prefer. Currently BSG is in 1st spot but with more seasons to come The Expanse could edge ahead.
Holy shit man its been already 15 years of this show😭 I remember watching this show every Saturday in a Trading Card hobbie shop back in 2006 and the owner turned the Tv for me because i loved it.I'm 33 and now he's like 56 and thanks to this show we became great friends and sci-fi bros and we are excited about this new project of theirs.
The re-imagined series is simply my favorite series of all time. I have continued to watch the entire series several times over the years, and I will do so long into the future. Every scene, emotion, character portrayal has a deeper magic and unspoken beauty about it. I mean even from the first episode, 33 which simply takes you into the fray of their world. You can tell as Tricia explains, everyone was in it together like a family, and it shows. The show is something special, and it's amazing.
They all were, especially Olmos. I’ve not seen such dedication except from the cast and crew of Firefly and The Expanse (most notably Cas Anvar, who pulled all sorts of tricks to get Bezos to pick it up).
I watched all of BSG when it first hit Netflix in 2009 after it aired, and remember it being amazing, and when I picked up the Blu-rays I started rewatching them with my neighbor - who's like my little sister, and both of us really enjoyed it because its very relevant still.
Her performance as the Six model was AMAZING my childhood actress crush! Lol but the way she portrayed the model and had range with all of the individuals within the line, was STELLAR!
Loki Odinson Meh, too boney. I would have preferred Christina Hendricks. As Sir Mix-a-lot would say, “To the beanpole dames in the magazines You ain't it, Miss Thing”
Damn I am getting old. Now THESE guys are the "old school" team that are bitching about the new guys. When I was a kid, watching this, Starbuck was still a dude and all of the Cylons were still robots.

In my opinion one of the most consistently GOOD shows in sci-fi history from start to finish. Such an INCREDIBLE ending as well. I had my issues here and there but no show is perfect! Issues I had I'm sure others loved! Over all this show is easily a 9/10 in my book forever.
Moonshine Bright Yep, the point still kinda stands. Not all of humanity, it’s just when you think of all the bad things in the world it feels overwhelming.
I appreciate the reminder of Richard Hatch being in Tricia's BG. Zarek was a tremendous character, brilliantly acted. Sure showed that he wasn't a campy '70s sci-melodrama actor (nothing but love for original BG, but it was a '70s style show). Anyway, he was truly legit, and I appreciated his zeal for continuing the original.
I was at a Con and had the pleasure to eat dinner with him and others and he was great. I told him, no offense but I HATE your character. He laughed and said, good, I am doing a good job. He was such a nice guy too.
Helfer played so many different versions on her roles and did it with such emotion that I'm surprised she didn't have a much bigger career. Great actress, BSG was an awesome set of movies / series.
And now the BSG cast knows how Richard Hatch first felt in 2003. That being said, I loved both versions and look forward to seeing what they come up with next.
I watched the original series as a kid so it was kinda touching to see the late Richard Hatch be involved in the later BSG too. Wonder if Dirk Benedict was asked to take part…
@@symbiat0 Dirk Benedict(Starbucks) died alone on a planet after crash on to it. Then he has sex with a supreme being and she delivery that baby (star child, if i remember that name correctly) to Galactica.
Caprica was one Powerful and Heavy series! I think the topic matter may have been Too heavy, dark and serious for the audience at that time... I loved it and it certainly has that BSG intensity and vib but its more earthbound or more correctly Caprica bound!
There's no way you can top this last BSG reboot. It's a masterpiece. And while I was sad when there were no more episodes and the story was over, it should be left as it is. You can only mess it up from here. I never even knew it was on the air at the time, but I wasn't watching any TV at that part of my life either. I didn't learn about its existence until 2012, and then I binge-watched it day after day until I had gotten through the whole series in about a month. I came back a full 10 years later and watched it all over again in 2022, and it still held up as good as ever. The effects, the writing, the acting, and all the accurate small details and dialogue that were military related that I appreciate as someone who is prior military. I can't even believe that I first watched it 12 years ago, and that I'm still ruminating on it. It certainly feels like it's still alive to me. If they try to reboot this as a movie with a different cast but retelling the story from the top, I just don't see the current cult fan base liking that very much. I'm not a fan of that idea at all.
"all this has happened before, and all this will happen again" the same people coming and playing different parts is almost written into the fabric of BSG
Agreed, I thought it was a great ending, it ended properly, rather than leaving us hanging, some people were laid to rest, the Cylons went off to do their own thing, and the ending scene left the door firmly closed on this iteration, yet strangely open, but not in an annoying 'that ended badly' way. Of course having the Cylon robots roaming around space leaves lots of room for a new story, maybe returning to the humans home many centuries later, only for the conflict to be re-ignited. Or maybe even the Cylons, having travelled the galaxies are now enlightened, and are the 'good guys' and the humans get to play the antagonists :)
Finale ripoff of series finale for hitchhikers guide to the galaxy . Lot of cutting corners in this series . Plus a lot of the episodes felt filled material or some story arcs stretched too long. Kinda like how a fight in dragonball z would be stretched out over 3 or more episodes.
Trufax. The way Tricia explained it, too. I'm just sad Richard isn't here. It would be really interesting to see how big of an eye-roll news of another reboot would get from him. He'd probably try and consult on it actually.
Dragonball I enjoyed. This soulless fad I did not. Point trying to make classic battle star was an epic series that had a feature like quality to it. It had more meat on the bones in 1 season than the syfy reboot had during it's multiyear run. The reboot was nothing more than an oc in space.
@@ileria3 I've watched it once and don't plan to do it again. I've watched the remake for the 7th time this year. So yeah, if you enjoy one, you're unlikely to like the other, I think. The shows are too different.
@@epaddon At this point I refuse to dignify butthurt fanboys of any property with a serious answer, especially if it's anything to do with science fiction. So here's your answer: grug.
For me, the characterization and writing was so strong, that I saw all the characters as people first and eye candy second. The fact that Tricia's characters were serious eye candy was almost a surreal element to the BSG universe, especially when she was playing a waking dream. Tricia's intelligent, frank and open heated comments, reinforce the fact that being photogenic is just one of many essential qualities necessary to work on a high production value TV series.
Know what I love? The fact that there is still a text chain among the actors from BSG. They're all working on different projects but can still reconnect in a moment. (It's a bit more personal and direct than Facebooking each other).
As grumpy as Richard Hatch was at first. And he really, really was. (She's understating it somewhat) The BSG family ended up being the pride of his career. He really loved everyone so much. It's hard to overstate the love that went into that show from, quite literally, every single person from producers to the craft services. The Expanse has really taken up the torch. It's a beautiful thing.
Just finished the entire series, for the fourth time…only a scant few hours ago. Love it, love everything about it! The STORY! Wow. Just wow. The story, writing, acting, cast (ESPECIALLY the cast!), the cylons, the special effects…EVERYTHING was so well done. It’s an American cultural icon, in the same vein as the Ridley Scott Alien 1979 sci fi movie classic. I could write and journal sooo much, pages and pages, about this series, but after hearing of the podcast, I think I’ll wait until then to put pen to paper. So nice to see Tricia Helfer! So amazing! Just as with Sigourney Weaver, it would be impossible to disassociate Ms. Helm from BattleStar - she’s so integral, so important, to the storyline. She is so brilliant - Ms. Helm was able to act so many separate characters, each one so differentiated and unique! Her acting was so good! The same goes for so many of the actors as well. I loved the characters, to the point they felt like friends and family throughout the 70+ episodes, for hours and for days. You must be very proud of yourself and for what you’ve accomplished. Well done.
God I loved this version of BSG... I own all of it. Whether they truly reboot it or not, this will always be the definitive BSG for me. RIP Richard. Love to Tricia... Where's a link to her podcast??
So you liked the brooding soap opera, with too much sex and crudeness thrown, and so much depression thrown in to make it more "realistic" with overacting, and basically the same story line most of the time about cylon humans being activated and doing terrorism?? At the start it was suspenseful, and Adama and Baltar were good actors, but overall reflecting on it, it just doesnt' hold up
I start every year watching Battlestar Galactica. January 1 is Caprica the movie, then the series, then Battlestar series.😍😍😍I discovery something new every time. I've got my nephew hooked too. 😂
You probably already know this. A Firefly class ship is visible outside the window when Laura Roslin is at the doctors surgery in the BattleStar Galactica mini series.
That's not what she said. She said her first reaction, along with other cast members, was "too soon." But then she realized that it had been 10 years since the end of BSG. Then she used the example of Richard Hatch to talk about how it might be interesting to be a part of the new version.
I don't think there is such a thing as 'too soon'. Look at recasting of characters and reboots/reimaginings with other franchises or stories. I don't think time plays any role in the acceptance or love for a new version. I think it's always about the quality people feel towards the new version. Tricia's Battlestar Galactica was accepted, not simply down to it being made a fair time after the original, but that it was done so well. The writing, the actors, the effects, the style, the direction, etc, all worked because they were all to a very high standard (to fans of the show). Imagine it being made by whoever's responsible for a TV show you despise, one that you feel is poor in every department. That Battlestar Galactica would have failed dismally. I've not seen the recent Disney live-action remakes (having never seen the original animated versions either) but I'm under the impression the issue with them, their failing, their inability to garner the love and adoration fans of the originals had is down to them simply not being as good as the originals and at worst failing in some areas. The distance in time between original and remake played no part. Equally as many franchise have demonstrated, you can reboot and recast and the new version can prove to be more popular than the original, or equally as popular. Look at the successes and failures of Superman and Spider-man. It wasn't the time-frame between reboots that decided the general opinion of each reboot. Over the space of four Spider-man movies there were three different actors playing him. Over the space of three different Superman movies there were three different actors playing him. Not unlike how James Bond movies have played out. I think it's always about the overall 'quality' viewers have towards the production, writing, directing and acting.
BSG was one of the most satisfying series I've watched in the last 15 years. Well written, complex, insightful, fun. I hope Hollywood doesn't screw it up by redoing it .
What is amazing, she had no acting experience before BSG, and she nailed it. I thought they had a great cast overall, top to bottom. I think alot with Edward and Mary having the big time experience they had, and the younger actors could learn from them.
I didn't know that. In the mini series and at least part of s1 I remember thinking she doesn't seem like a highly trained actress, and by the end of s2 I thought I must have had bad judgement, because as her story developed she really showed some chops. Amazing that she could pick it up on the job.
Julian Wells oh please no. I know you’re theorising but I can’t see Mary McDonnell dropping f bombs. But they’re such great actors and it would be great to see them in upcoming seasons

Although it is irony indeed, the first however was 25 years earlier, and didn't held up quality wise. While the 2000 battle... cgi still holds up, and finished a decade ago. Its just Hollywood running out of ideas and still milking the very dead utter of nostalgia.
@@aziizrocks She litterally said "Too soon". Or well, that it felt that way. And, I agree. Even if it is released, I will not watch it if it contains the same story, in a new package. As much as I'd love more BSG, from other ships and or eras... the problem is that the cast is whom made the story and the feel. And they simply cannot recreate that. So, sad to say, I hope they never revisit this. Do not tarnish it.

Right so you're referring to the Sci Fi series I assume, because apart from it being more action packed I guess you could say, it got redundant with always having cylon terrorists as the main story line. Battlestar Galactica reimagined is still my all time favorite series, every character was essential, had great back stories and arcs, and well played by excellent actors. A phenomenal show. And it was a tragic mistake to end "Caprica"
I didn't like the ending. But I understood it. Oh, and Kara was an angel. Why? In Daybreak 3, Bill Adama lands a Raptor with Roslin in it, taking her away before she dies. Lee and Kara are in a command tent when they see it land. Lee comes out of the tent to head toward the Raptor, Kara behind him. When Kara exits, you see he look up to the sky, and the look on her face clearly says "Hey, give me a few more minutes, OK?"
I read somewhere that when Starbucks was “killed off” no one of the actors new about it, except Katee, Edward James olmos and other actors confronted the director about it because they were so displeased to the point where he had to tell some of them. This show really was one of a kind. Beautiful
@@mione134 I actually loved it. It was beautifully poetic. The last episode did seem rushed a bit but I still think they did a good job with the goodbyes. I cried like a baby when Lee turned and she was gone.
Huge fan of the original show. Really a good "reboot" would pick up the story of the freed centurions developing into the all robot race that the Glen Larson version had. (And the original cast are now the Lords of Kobol possibly.) Because all this has happened before, and all this will happen again. Just not identically, because history never repeats - it rhymes.

A total trek freak but, I've hung up my phaser and badge. Give me exploding rounds and a steel plated deck any day.
I'm old enough to have seen both versions in their entirety. The re-imagined version WAS DONE RIGHT AND AIR TIGHT. Which is a rarity in H'wood. Ms. Helfer STAND PROUD ON THIS ONE!!!! AND DEFEND IT VIGOROUSLY.
Galactica 1980 was really a bust. So forgotten. 😂😂😂 We both lived through both versions and I love how they ended the newer version. Re-imagining it again is a waste. They didn't even finish Caprica.
The good thing is that BSG had an ending rather than being cancelled which would have been heartbreaking.

Same here.
Yep, same. I would even call it a Cult Classic.
Sky Walker Some of the actors in the BSG are actually involved in a sex cult...
That accent change he did really surprised me.

I'm right there with you, I still think that the 1st Season was bad....The Kobol (Tomb of Athena) Epi- Saved it.
The opening couple of episodes of Battlestar Galactica were some of the coolest sci fi I've ever seen.
Yeah, Lorne Greene, Dirk Benedict, Jane Seymour, and the rest were wonderful.
I remember when I first watched it. The whole part where they couldn't get a break from the cylons following them for days after each jump I was like "damn this show's serious" lmao.
The opening couple of episodes of Battlestar Galactica were some of the most boring sci-fi I ever seen.
It's about family,
i mean... it was a reboot too😅
I have faith in Sam Esmail. If he leaves tho then nope
"It's about family" is so right. And so few producers, show-runners, and writers understand that about the "space" shows... and hero shows. Right on.
So say we all.
Making new Battlestar Galactica is like making new Blade movie. They never can do that.
Still drop dead gorgeous...and has the talent to match. How she isn't a leading lady in Hollywood is beyond me. She has a good career, but she deserves superstar status.

Same age and totally agree. I will watch from a distance but I fear it will be political propaganda.

Same I'm quite surprised they kept in touch after all these years
A text chain, damn I'm getting old, but I love that.
Well done.
Great interview. Great to hear Tricia's thought's on the show and the potential reimagining.
The Baltar/6 moments were the best parts of Galactica, I wanted so much more of them interacting.
I still hear Sarah Kerrigan when she speaks , sends chills down my spine !!! Tricia you are an amazing artist ! we are all thankful for your work!!

There is going to be a new reboot of BSG with new cast but yeah it will be hard to beat the cast of this version
BSG 2004 my favorite show of all time.
Me too!
So you liked the brooding soap opera, with too much sex and crudeness thrown, and so much depression thrown in to make it more "realistic" with overacting, and basically the same story line most of the time about cylon humans being activated and doing terrorism?? At the start it was suspenseful, and Adama and Baltar were good actors, but overall reflecting on it, it just doesnt' hold up
And here I am still waiting for Babylon 5 to make a comeback 22 years later😭

Oh my gosh lol!!!!
Love the passion and sincerity Tricia has for her craft - BSG was so authentic, you could tell the actors were truly in it for the story.
I totally agree with her, it's way too soon for a remake, the show is still really good today.
That's not what she said. She said her first reaction, along with other cast members, was "too soon." But then she realized that it had been 10 years since the end of BSG. Then she used the example of Richard Hatch to talk about how it might be interesting to be a part of the new version.
Yeah, it's still too soon. Maybe another decade.
1978-79 cast went through it. This cast will face it too. Studios like “owned” IP than new creations
I'm deeply sorry about Hatch tough. He fought for original, he fought for Star Trek: Axanar ....
Great show. Great actors, great writers, great producers. Sometimes it all just comes together, and it’s brilliant.
"Sometimes Ya Gotta Roll The Hard Six."
"So Say We All."
I would love to see her taking a rule in Amazon's The Expance!
Anyone agree's?
Mary McDonnell as Avasarala; Katie Sachhoff as Bobbie; Grace Park as Naomi; Who would Trish be? Drummer?
Oh yea!
Julian Wells oh please no. I know you’re theorising but I can’t see Mary McDonnell dropping f bombs. But they’re such great actors and it would be great to see them in upcoming seasons
A rule? ;-)
@@julianwells4055 Plenty of new characters get introduced all the time, why actor swap the existing ones? It was bad enough when they changed Arjun and he doesn't even have that many scenes
New BSG is the only series I have actually went out and bought; it was that good. So many different layers at play in this psychological masterpiece.
“Punch to the gut? We’re so sorry for you....” - The cast of 1978 BSG.
It simply cannot be better, and as such will only be a Star Wars sequel failiure. No thanks.
As much as I'd love more BSG, from other ships and or eras... the problem is that the cast is whom made the story and the feel. And they simply cannot recreate that. So, sad to say, I hope they never revisit this. Do not tarnish it.
@@aziizrocks I agree 100%. BSG is at the pinnacle of what it could be. Either show new variations (other ships and stories) or move onto something new.. like Buck Rogers
@@sailingspark9748 I would love to see a good reboot of "Buck Rogers". Maybe "Space 1999" as well. Unfortunately Hollywood seems to be doing a crap job in that department these days. Best to leave it lie than to ruin it in a bad reboot.

😂😂😂
Right so you're referring to the Sci Fi series I assume, because apart from it being more action packed I guess you could say, it got redundant with always having cylon terrorists as the main story line. The acting was also not good. The play at being sexy also failed. Too many cliches, the list goes on. I think a hybid of the original and the Sci Fi series would be good, but a new version of the Sci Fi series is a BAD idea!
@@johnedwards1968 This version was in no way better than the original, it was just different and enjoyed the ability to be more visually stunning because of advances in CGI. In fact it wasn't nearly as imaginative as the original in many ways. I like them both but in my opinion the original had more impact and told a better story.

The ending was perfect... ties into a ton of theory about the past of our planet on a mythological level.
The biggest shocker for me, ending-wise was just how far in the past that was. The biggest shocker of the show for me was "Crossroads, Part 2".
@Rob Crane Huh? What plot holes?
I read somewhere that when Starbucks was “killed off” no one of the actors new about it, except Katee, Edward James olmos and other actors confronted the director about it because they were so displeased to the point where he had to tell some of them. This show really was one of a kind. Beautiful

I think the ending was perfect. One of the best endings ever to a tv series.
Bit of a clickbait title there. Tricia's answer starts with that, but in the end she has a completely different take on the reboot that's more complicated than that.
BSG's ending was coming from the beginning. Six literally SAYS she's an Angel of God in the first fucking season. People that hated the ending of BSG weren't really watching it.
