I love this show but I remain baffled why they made it a detective serial. Seriously the murder mysteries are the least interesting part of each epsiode.
Procedurals are a network TV staple which isn't a bad thing. They're like comfort food. But Lucifer really shouldn't have been one. Such a shame considering the cast is excellent.
Oh I know exactly why they did that originally... budget. Plain and simple. But yeah, I wish they had been able to evolve it past that when it moved to Netflix with all of the material they had to play with from the Lucifer graphic novel series. Other shows have evolved that way, one off the top of my head one that did a fantastic transition was, 'Person of Interest'.
I feel like I'm in the minority for actually liking the murder mystery angle. Devil helping solve crimes in LA is just absurdly funny to me. I think there needs to be a balance between the cop show and supernatural drama show aspects, but if it didn't have the first? I probably would have stopped watching. Theres only so much non stop drama I can take.
Yes, Number 6 is gorgeous. The only bad thing about Tricia Helfer repeatedly playing celestial goddesses is she doesn't really have to flex her acting skills since clearly it comes naturally. ;)
i finished the first 3 seasons but felt it was lacking the supernatural stuff consistently, and the whole trying to convince chloe he really is the devil took WAY TOO LONG. so i gave up on the show
@Jackie , well i dun have netflix. And with how season 3 was lacking I'd only consider watching it if it was made available everywhere and not have to go find some site to stream it
Musical Episode!? Ugh... why must every show try and shoehorn these in now? Looks like I'll be skipping that one which is a shame as I love Lucifer and love Ms Helfer's performances too.
My thoughts as well. I really like Lucifer and cannot wait to see season 5, but I hate the "musical" bits in most films and series and usually skip them at least by the second watch-through, often even at the first watch. I mean I don't skip the whole episode, only the "musical" bits in one unless the whole episode is a continuous musical which would be awful.
Phleanix that is a shame and your loss. Honestly everyone I’ve asked so far has wanted a musical episode and so do I. Really bad. And we are getting one, so I’m happy
Kerrigan, Six, Goddess (Lucifer's Mom)... I'm noticing a trend with Tricia Helfer playing individuals that either are, or evolve into celestial beings. She might get type cast playing goddesses, but I'm okay with that. ;)
Lucifer had great cast but bad writing really damaged the show(it was basically a parody of CSI ) .DC should reboot it with more dark gritty serious show

Lucifer is one of the BEST Shows on Television and it's criminal it's only FIVE SEASONS! Netflix saved it only to end it to early.

because lucifer. an use his own problems to work out the case and vice versa also the devil punishes evil and so do detectives

Giving how the show in general treates music in general. They always have fun numbers that come up and fans have been asking.

yeah and was repetitive with the cases. season 3 had a love triangle which was kinda lame.
