The only issue I have with WR models is that they make the fool shit cutesy like LoL twitch with it’s hard lines and low poly looks like a crazy feral rabid rodent while WR literally just looks Disney to me
I'm just gonna throw a little take in the mix of this topic: A lot more champions need visual updates than we think or want to admit. Some champions get..."updates". Take Annie for example. While her attire fits better with Noxus, she still has those weird cat ears for the purpose of them being too iconic to remove. Xerath looks out of place in Shurima where not only does his model feel lacking, but blue isn't a color we ever associate with Shurima, and if his power comes from the Sun Disk, would he not be golden light? Shaco, self explanatory. Ahri? Could have been better actually. Viktor? Corki? Elise? Cassiopeia? Anivia? I'll even say Vi and Jinx. We know a lot of champs are old but there are WAY more in need of updates than the public opinion has said. We hear about a lot of the major offenders all to often, we need to accept that we aren't even scratching the surface of poor design.
Definitely agree, ASU’s are just as needed as VGU’s. Not only do the appearances need to change, but some champs’ lore need a lot of change. I look forward to ASU’s more than new champs at this point… I love the shaco burn btw :)
I feel like Arcane Vi and Jinx are basically their VGUs lol, especially that that a lot of recent promos and Project L use a design for Jinx that is similar to her Arcane fit Also I guess you can justify Xerath not being yellow cause he is a failed Ascended called Baccai
The second part of the video about mobile version had too much of shill feel. I won't stand for defending smooth Brand or Bound_by_flesh_Tresh. There ARE NUMBERS OF DIFFERENT WAYS TO AVOID CENSORSHIP without regressing to anime pretty bois.
You dont get how they also made Master Yi less square metal and more "fluid" shape like a "S" or a leaf Now his motive is more plant "nature" also more natural even if he is wearing metal Even the sword with rings is now like a Sable and the rings looks like a leafs
I remember when that "new" skin for Nidalee was revealed. I was like... who is it? ... Oh right. I honestly don't see a point in releasing new skins for those champions when LoR gave them deserved and much more appealing visual overhaul.
I really would like if cases like Vladimir and Hecarim ended up as Skins in LOR Like, let's Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra being close friends and share some stuff
I'd personally prefer to see the vague image of a horse skull within his chest/abdominal area. But that's not cashmoney in china so who cares what I think.

it is very important to note that the designs on wild rift are actually only the out of game ones, the in game ones are mostly copies of the original game with different textures to aesthetically make it have more sense. I wish of course they had the out of game models inside the PC version because they just look cool and it is time to finally increase the model details a bit because honestly the game feels a bit dated even on the newer champs. If I look back at heroes of the storm, their characters just looked crispy and modern, even though the designs were not unique at all since they all came from different games. Of course in PC League we expect to see not so smooth textures as in wild rift and generally we want more detailed looks, either way though the game needs a visual upgrade and the new jax ASU worries me that they will not do that anytime soon, that is an issue for me that I often buy skins and such because they are not as visible, unlike in games like smite for example where I full-on enjoy my skin for obvious reasons.
I think twitch got changed to be too.. cartoony and friendly? I actually prefer the gross more rough look of the LoL one. SOME of the redesigns are pretty cool, some IMO are not worth mentioning or are just downgrades. We'll see where they go with the MMO. @@brosam_ even with a skull in his chest you will assume he's a just ghostly centaur no more no less the skull is not going to help you realize he's fused. I think every devs overused the skull design in every undead fantasy.
@@brosam_ but I don't mean it a bad way being a ghostly centaur quite opposite in fact I think it's clever to just see Him as a Ghostly Centaur at first glance. and after you decided to read His lore you will understand how wrong you are. for me that's clever
@lambandwolf6982 Yeah I don't at all understand how "skulls and crossbones" = "indicator of two fused bodies."
My favorit part in the lore is when leblanc says "I am alpharius"
*sigh* This is going to end with another 200 books being added to the Black Library, isn't it?

necrit : i do not recognize this champion at all !
I wish that the WR base models would be swapped in LoL. I know I know it's not the same engine or whatever so it's difficult but I think it would add a lot of player trust if they did it for free. Not even updating animations just models.
Idk how this affects player trust tho. WR models are great but main game league models aren't bad for the ones that aren't old ASF.
@@blvckl0tcs750 This is what I'm saying. Replace old models with no intention of doing it for people to spend money on. It would be a good PR thing to do
Why couldnt thresh look like hecarim , nooooo they had to make him an e-boy(and no, the "lore reason" doesnt excuse the design because it simply does not match his character , in game he literally sais "flesh is a prison" for example, Thresh would never willingly become human again, he likes being a monster)
Well thresh didn't turn into a monster by choice. Also due to wild rift, he collected enough sounds and the binding of viego caused this human form. Thresh unbound if you may.
@@blvckl0tcs750 He took to his new unlife like a fish to water. There's quite literally no reason for "unbound thresh" to exist as it is other than "we want china money"
Unbound thresh is one of the biggest piece of dogsht I have ever seen. I can't understand how necrit is trying to justify e-boy thresh.
@shreeanshmahapatra2313 over the last few years he's been getting pretty complacent with riots shithousery, sadly...
@BoneWalker exactly , there simply is no to way justify this , this just is not who thresh is
I'm hoping Project L will continue this pattern of making newer, better designs for champions. Illaoi looks fantastic and I hope that champions that desperately need redesigns get it in Project L.
To regards of Vladimir launch video having no sound effects is maybe because it's was also used as login screen in Wildrift so maybe Riot thought of having people screaming and wailing and blood gushing as your login video will get annoying which was i happily agree lol.
when he calls "a new dawn" the old cinematic my heart dies a little. Im still hyped from that cinematic, remember its release like it was yesterday, aswell as a Twist of fate.
A lot of LoR does great work fleshing out the universe (even if it's kinda pointless with it being debatable what's canon or not) Janna and Nidalee are downgrades though, won't convince a lot of people otherwise
Not sure about that, but the improvements aren't that good. Seriously, the visual novel's design was WORSE than the LoL art. I'm also not convinced by Janna's voice AT ALL.
@@N12015 The voice is probably the worst part. It made sense she sounded ethereal and breathily, now she just sounds like generic ''hardass'' female 101. It works for someone like Leona to have that voice, but not Janna.
Pretty consistent with current Riot though, they seem to want to erase anything they can on champs that people find attractive.
I don't think anyone wants to try convincing the basement dweller incels who think that
@@Skylite420 Can't make a point without resorting to insults? Pretty obvious who the dweller is.
@@stewartpower7948 Idk what argument that hasn't been said or isn't obvious I could make, It is pretty clear that if you have this kind of take you're either blind, the type of person I mentioned prior, or both.
Master Yi is my favorite champion so against about him would be awesome for me. So see his new design is awesome
LoL: You think you are better than me.

Master yi new design is just so fit .Bro is way more smooth and calm
I absolutely love the LoR version of Udyr, never was that much into Udyr as a LoL champ but in LoR he's easily amongst my favorites.
I might be biased but i really fucking hate the "skulls and undead" censorship.
Okay i'm very biased but still. I don't want to see pretty boy Brand and Thresh, they're inhuman monsters.
Based Calcium Enjoyer
The only issue I have with WR models is that they make the fool shit cutesy like LoL twitch with it’s hard lines and low poly looks like a crazy feral rabid rodent while WR literally just looks Disney to me
If you mean old Disney then yes beacuse the male champions does not look like Disney at all
Can't wait for the visual update for Corki, Ice Toboggan will finally feel like a Legendary Skin
I look forward to ASU’s more than new champs at this point…
I love the shaco burn btw :)
It feels like the Guardian of the Sands skin for Xerath would make more sense as the canon look than his default skin.
I feel like Arcane Vi and Jinx are basically their VGUs lol, especially that that a lot of recent promos and Project L use a design for Jinx that is similar to her Arcane fit
Also I guess you can justify Xerath not being yellow cause he is a failed Ascended called Baccai
In LoR Annie has more of a devil horn thing instead of cat ears. Which fits much better with the fire magic devilish child idea.
It’s mostly the original Riot champs that need them
The second part of the video about mobile version had too much of shill feel.
I won't stand for defending smooth Brand or Bound_by_flesh_Tresh. There ARE NUMBERS OF DIFFERENT WAYS TO AVOID CENSORSHIP without regressing to anime pretty bois.
Warwick cinematic also takes place chronologically before the league cinematic
6:30 they don’t _build_ houses, they _grow_ houses
housi
11:44 "You must be here to take my cheese! boink-boink-boink-boink"
Ever since I watched the Wild Rift teasers I did wonder how long you would be able to resist making the videos
You dont get how they also made Master Yi less square metal and more "fluid" shape like a "S" or a leaf
Now his motive is more plant "nature" also more natural even if he is wearing metal
Even the sword with rings is now like a Sable and the rings looks like a leafs
I remember when that "new" skin for Nidalee was revealed.
I was like... who is it? ... Oh right.
I honestly don't see a point in releasing new skins for those champions when LoR gave them deserved and much more appealing visual overhaul.
I really would like if cases like Vladimir and Hecarim ended up as Skins in LOR
Like, let's Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra being close friends and share some stuff
Hec also has the camavore symbol on his weapon

I'd personally prefer to see the vague image of a horse skull within his chest/abdominal area. But that's not cashmoney in china so who cares what I think.
God what I would give to have that Anivia design in league... or whatever she'll look like in song of nunu. GIVE HER AN ASU ALREADY RIOT!
After the release of Voli and Ornn, I think Anivia and Lissandra will get their way into Wild Rift in the next couple of patches thus having their visual or possibly a complete ASU for them.
@@DobbynciCode someone noticed that none of the control mages (Orianna I guess?) have made it to the game yet, not even Azir despite his popularity. I get it, control mages tend to have a kit that on mobile might be hard to configure but thought they'd figure it out by now, especially since they're not TOO different from Orianna and she made it day one.
You also forgot the Leona and Soraka visual updates in Wild Rift.
I dunno if giving Twitch a cutsey dog face counts as an improvement, but overall yeah, the characters are way better realized in most new media.
More than a little annoyed that at the beginning of the year they said the next vgus being worked on to come out was Lee sin and Teemo and yet there seems to be a total of 7 others first
so now we can say yi is beating us with a wood sword , nice
And this point, Shaco and MAYBE Kog’Maw are the only Champions who really need full redesigns from the ground-up. Everyone else could honestly work with an approach similar to Yi or Nidalee where we just upgrade what’s already there.
Cho gath?
@@Skylite420 Frankly I don't think Riot hasn't any intent to radically altar Cho'Gath from his Violator inspiration. I mean, they included him with his current design in a TFT poster semi-recently. I don't even think Cho is really that bad though. While I'd love to see him get a proper upgrade, they'll probably just take the LoR approach with him when the time comes.
@@goldlight1322inspraiton? Thats straight a copy of the violater
@@Muuony Zyra is Poison Ivy, Talon is from Assassin's Creed, Veigar is Final Fantasy Black Mage... Just cool to know that we will not have the censorship problem with Wild Rift anymore. They confirmed Briar is censored too so now the problem is in every game.
How is Briar censored?
@@donarthunaraz9361 She was supposed to have blood in all her design but they changed it to random pink magic so China is happy.
If there are "problematic" designs for China, they should just leave those particular champions out of China's version of WR, not f*ck over the Western versions. They're trying to have their cake and eat it too.
It wasn't done for this. They already have different designs. This is for lore related reasons.
Bro Tencent is a Chinese company, of course they're going to focus more on making the game appeal to China than the west.
@@karenwang313 I know they're going to make these changes for China, I'm just saying there's no need to also make the same changes to the Western versions.

If only this year rito could have had a little bit more budget to update some of these champs mentioned here since they already have an updated design
I don't think I'd be exactly fine with Nidalee having the "in-between" form. Not at least unless they do a rework on her kit. Maybe if they do it like juuuuuust a smidge in her human form, I guess.
Still hoping for them to ASU her. Many characters, herself included, come from the era of "let's do archetypes of characters, as stereotypical as possible".
I wish they could port the rift models to league.
as a main Thresh WR redesign for everyone IS NOT OKAY NOT
Twitch just needs a texture update in Legaue that’s it
Vladimir got a really bad redesign, with no blood, its all purple-ish mist, they took away the one thing he had hemomancy. now is just a pretty boy with small hints of vampire with zero blood, lame.
Video 9 of kindly asking Necrit to do a breakdown of the Ruination novel
you had me in the first half, i was gonna have a mental episode if you didn’t at least mention gragas
the "Oh god, he came out in 2012" remind me about that day. I was drunk after some 30+ shot of whiskey, tequila, and vodka. So I bought Hec and started playing. 10 min into the game, I threw up on my brand new gaming laptop, lol.
Volibear is mean to look like an actual bear facing forward on two legs, that’s why he looks stretched.
But he looks so silly I can't take that design seriously 😭
it is very important to note that the designs on wild rift are actually only the out of game ones, the in game ones are mostly copies of the original game with different textures to aesthetically make it have more sense.
Wait, I'm confused now. I thought Jax was getting an ASU and not a full blown VGU! Can someone clarify? 🤔
Jax VGU just got announced! Spot on!
Hecarims blade looks like night harvester
I mean the vlad trailer was make for wild rift login screen
8:53 Is it just me or does this image make Thresh look like Matt Mercer?
I think twitch got changed to be too.. cartoony and friendly? I actually prefer the gross more rough look of the LoL one.
SOME of the redesigns are pretty cool, some IMO are not worth mentioning or are just downgrades. We'll see where they go with the MMO. I'd like to see them not tone down the sexy or scary stuff though TBH. If everything gets pulled into a middle zone it's going to be... a bit boring? Like hecarim's new design is just SUUUUUUUPER boring looking.
You can thank chinese censorship for that. Can't wait for wild rift karthus to be another e-boy with a mask.
How Jax have that Pantheon emblem thing like around his waist.
Even after all these years Thresh's original skin still looks amazing.
