The Afro hair representation Wendy gave us the whole season! The Afro, The Betty style, The ponytails she gave us on the final episode! I loved it so much I wore that hair style to my prom! Afro hair is so versatile. It’s a shame the versatility is not shown in the media as often.

I love this show so much. My only complaint is I wish Puleng had a personality trait outside of Fikile. I know her storyline is to find her sister but I feel like she’s very one dimensional we don’t see any other side of her so when she does other things (like show interest in Wade) it feels so out of place

KB was so annoying this season, he kept on asking what was wrong with Puleng like he couldn't figure that out himself from everything going on in her life, half of it was public knowledge anyway, AND then he made the diss track insinuating Puleng and Wade were hooking up WHILE admitting to kissing Fikile Hope we see some character development in season 3 because KB was not it this season
Wendy definitely grew on me this season. Her snobby, know-it-all ass lol. I loved all her hair styles, *especially* the fro at the tea party. I almost fainted! Also, Zama? Queen of style. That girl was serving looks head to toe in every scene. Ate and kept on eating! Pure gluttony, but we stan. My grown ass could learn a lot from her.

Thank you so much for making this video, Blood and Water is sooooo underrated it hurts 😭 Aside from the hair, makeup, wardrobe (for literally everyone. NO ONE looks bad in this series, NO ONE. And they keep that same level when it comes to ALL promotional photos as well, the consistency is just stunning). I LOVE how this series portrays how actually tech savvy teenagers (and most people these days) use their phones and social media to express themselves (or to gossip, spread news or bully each other, sadly) especially. Whoever does the animations for when a text or a call comes and goes, and all the social media posts pop up like wild fire, that person needs a raise, b/c it makes the show move so much faster and more dynamic - we feel the weight of a situation as it happens, as all the kids hold up their phones and share the stories live online. I'm not a Wade fan b/c he gives off nice guy vibe at times, it's always the quiet ones you gotta watch out (the way he reacts when he hears KB mentioned he and Puleng did the deed - she's not his property, yikes). Someone said that Puleng doesn't have a personality aside from finding/proving Phume/Fikile is her sister, and I agree, so I don't ship her with either Wade or KB. And to quote someone else, I ship Puleng and Fikile with actual trust worthy therapists. You took these adults to tasks and I love it. If I was less resourceful than Chris, I'd die too 🤣 but I think it's probably easier for Chris to sell off household items b/c his parents are almost never home, they wouldn't notice a missing statue or two. But Chris still did come up with others ideas, so I have to give him credits for that. Whereas KB's dad - Matla, is home often, he'd notice a missing table right away. I like that he's quite close and emotionally open to KB even (he does do shady sh%t, but he's a good father). But he has access to that other house Matla doesn't check on anymore though, should have sold a couch or a lamp from there. But yeah KB is really not a bright spark now that I think about it. I knew the show will make Wade x Puleng a thing, so I expected nothing. I love that Siya (everyone always forgets baby Siya) is the only one who pushes back on Puleng's trespasses on other people's time, safety and energy on her crusade to find Phume. In the end, Puleng didn't even return Siya's money! When all that information about Phume/Fikile came out, no one cares to asks how he feels either. I feel bad for Siya, but both seasons have been very packed with other characters and plot, so I understand why he was left out. What was also left out is Sam's flirting techniques b/c the first 2 times he tried to get Fikile's attention have been 1/almost run her over 2/almost drown her. He became more understanding and caring towards her later on, but those two moments - yikes, no. Sorry for the wall of text 😭 I hope you watch Queen Sono, or Kings of Joburg next! They're both also South African productions, I enjoyed them both and I hope they both get another season or 2, or escape this Netflix 3 seasons-cancellation curse entirely.
But I am not done! Let me side track into this rant about Zama too, my precious Zama deserves better. I loved Zama and knew she deserved better since season 1; season 2, she got more screen time, her hair and clothes are always incredible, but as a a character, as a person, as a friend of Puleng of all people, she deserves more. Like she starts ever sentence to Puleng with "Friend", but Puleng never does SH&T for Zama, not even in the sliightest. I remember in season 1 when Puleng was dumping everything on her mind on either Wade or Zama, and there this one time she went to Zama's house to vent, and we got to see Zama's situation is even worse off than Puleng. The Khumalos are lower-middle class -ish, they still have a nice house, in a nice neighbourhood with sprawling lawns and driveways, but they still struggle with Puleng's tuition and legal fees, so that's why I class them as such. Zama and her single mother live in a small, plain, run down, dirty old house in a dusty slum, with shady people who casually come and go into her house to party. She literally has to carry a hockey stick around IN HER OWN HOUSE to make sure no one would do anything to her. I can not for the life of me believe why the hell Puleng - her fRiEnd, seeing all this, could not open her mouth and say "Why don't you come over and spend the night (safely) at my place?". They're friends, so I bet Zama's mom and Puleng's family wouldn't mind a sleepover, other than being preyed on the whole night in your own house. What kind of friend is this? Season 2, same thing, it literally started off with Puleng coming to her school just to vent her anger and be comforted by Zama. Zama continue to have to answer Puleng's call at the drop of a hat. I don't understand why we don't get to see more of Zama fully, beyond being a sensible sidekick to Puleng's recklessness. I'm glad she dropped Chris, but Idk, at times the way she talks about it, comes off a little homophobic for me (that or she couldn't handle the polyamory, which is fine, they're all 16-17, it's complicated to navigate). She became friends with Mark, but I think it's very Cis Straight Girl's Gay Best Friend trope. It's unfortunate. At least I hope she finds a better friend in Mark than in Puleng.

I think Fikele’s dad doesn't know. He thought wabisa was pregnant and gave birth. Wabisa’s baby pictures of fikele looks like the time where she gave birth. I think brian wasn't around for the pregnancy giving her and her grandmother enough time to fake the “eastern cape” story. Plus he also found it strange that fikele wasn't blood match when she almost drown. Wabisa might have threaten the doctors to fabricate a story. Fikele is my favorite character because she has gone through a lot. The teacher scandal, parents not her parents and online bullying. I think fikele believed the story but didn't want it to be true. That's why she pushed puleng away because she wanted her life to be normal again. The DNA test gave her the reassurance she needed but those doubts never left and when she saw the messages, the doubts were amplified and she wanted it to end so she gave in. That's why she was scared to open the letter the second time and when KB asked her she said it's definitely the truth. She always fought the beliefs and I think those her fear reimagined themselves in her dream as puleng. The puleng she is fighting is her identity, in the water she was safe and was herself (old life as a Bhele). She couldn't swim because she wrestle inside. Only after the fake results was out was when she love the water. Now she fells safe knowing she's puleng's sister but she is also a Bhele.

Just wanted to add some clarity on the madness behind Fiks mum stealing a child . Unfortunately us Africans (am Zimbabwean)can be quite insensitive and primitive when it comes to infertility. A lot of women feel very insecure in their marriage if ur unable to produce a child (traditionally your husband is able to request a replacement or additional younger wife from your family) who will give him progeny. Tough to say if Fiks "Dad" and family would have treated the wife that way..as they seem quite wealthy,modern and emotionally supportive BUT their still traditional at the same time. It's why dad didn't know coz she did it to have a child and save face/her marriage.. She went away to her mom's house in the Eastern Cape whilst she was preggers is how she was able to lie to her hubby which women in Africa often do . Especially if there has been miscarriages

I just watched all three seasons since I saw it was trending on Netflix and I was so happy to see you had already made videos about this show! PLEASE do one about season three when you have a chance! Personally I think season 3 was the absolute wildest season and we all know every season is full of turns. I had to pause and step away multiple times because I was in straight up shock. I feel lucky that I got to watch so much of the show all at once but now I’m stuck wanting more!
One thing south African TV shows/movies will do is make sure that hair is right. I know with some American stylists, even the black ones, they can't do hair properly. Someone said that Puleng doesn't have a personality aside from finding/proving Phume/Fikile is her sister, and I agree, so I don't ship her with either Wade or KB. And to quote someone else, I ship Puleng and Fikile with actual trust worthy therapists. You took these adults to tasks and I love it. If I was less resourceful than Chris, I'd die too 🤣 but I think it's probably easier for Chris to sell off household items b/c his parents are almost never home, they wouldn't notice a missing statue or two. But Chris still did come up with others ideas, so I have to give him credits for that. Whereas KB's dad - Matla, is home often, he'd notice a missing table right away. I like that he's quite close and emotionally open to KB even (he does do shady sh%t, but he's a good father). But he has access to that other house Matla doesn't check on anymore though, should have sold a couch or a lamp from there. But yeah KB is really not a bright spark now that I think about it. I knew the show will make Wade x Puleng a thing, so I expected nothing. I love that Siya (everyone always forgets baby Siya) is the only one who pushes back on Puleng's trespasses on other people's time, safety and energy on her crusade to find Phume. In the end, Puleng didn't even return Siya's money! When all that information about Phume/Fikile came out, no one cares to asks how he feels either. I feel bad for Siya, but both seasons have been very packed with other characters and plot, so I understand why he was left out. What was also left out is Sam's flirting techniques b/c the first 2 times he tried to get Fikile's attention have been 1/almost run her over 2/almost drown her. He became more understanding and caring towards her later on, but those two moments - yikes, no. Sorry for the wall of text 😭 I hope you watch Queen Sono, or Kings of Joburg next! They're both also South African productions, I enjoyed them both and I hope they both get another season or 2, or escape this Netflix 3 seasons-cancellation curse entirely.
But I am not done! Let me side track into this rant about Zama too, my precious Zama deserves better. I loved Zama and knew she deserved better since season 1; season 2, she got more screen time, her hair and clothes are always incredible, but as a a character, as a person, as a friend of Puleng of all people, she deserves more. Like she starts ever sentence to Puleng with "Friend", but Puleng never does SH&T for Zama, not even in the sliightest. I remember in season 1 when Puleng was dumping everything on her mind on either Wade or Zama, and there this one time she went to Zama's house to vent, and we got to see Zama's situation is even worse off than Puleng. The Khumalos are lower-middle class -ish, they still have a nice house, in a nice neighbourhood with sprawling lawns and driveways, but they still struggle with Puleng's tuition and legal fees, so that's why I class them as such. Zama and her single mother live in a small, plain, run down, dirty old house in a dusty slum, with shady people who casually come and go into her house to party. She literally has to carry a hockey stick around IN HER OWN HOUSE to make sure no one would do anything to her. I can not for the life of me believe why the hell Puleng - her fRiEnd, seeing all this, could not open her mouth and say "Why don't you come over and spend the night (safely) at my place?". They're friends, so I bet Zama's mom and Puleng's family wouldn't mind a sleepover, other than being preyed on the whole night in your own house. What kind of friend is this? Season 2, same thing, it literally started off with Puleng coming to her school just to vent her anger and be comforted by Zama. Zama continue to have to answer Puleng's call at the drop of a hat. I don't understand why we don't get to see more of Zama fully, beyond being a sensible sidekick to Puleng's recklessness. I'm glad she dropped Chris, but Idk, at times the way she talks about it, comes off a little homophobic for me (that or she couldn't handle the polyamory, which is fine, they're all 16-17, it's complicated to navigate). She became friends with Mark, but I think it's very Cis Straight Girl's Gay Best Friend trope. It's unfortunate. At least I hope she finds a better friend in Mark than in Puleng.

Additionally they never JUST ASK us what’s going on and when you finally find the courage to tell them what is ACTUALLY happening they just say you’re lying. Honestly I told my mom off and luckily for me she decided to work on herself and started trusting me.

I hated the way they made Wendy the butt of the joke for the majority of the season, because I LOVED Wendy and hated seeing her get constantly laughed at and dismissed. But omg I 100% agree the wardrobe, hair, and makeup people absolutely ATE this season, the looks were sooo good.

Idk about the diary thing. My mom read mine and I’m so glad she did. Otherwise no one would’ve known about me getting bullied and I would’ve been stuck at that school and suicidal. I also never knew she read it until I was 30 so maybe that’s another reason I feel different about.

I think Fikele’s dad doesn't know. He thought wabisa was pregnant and gave birth. Wabisa’s baby pictures of fikele looks like the time where she gave birth. I think brian wasn't around for the pregnancy giving her and her grandmother enough time to fake the “eastern cape” story. Plus he also found it strange that fikele wasn't blood match when she almost drown. Wabisa might have threaten the doctors to fabricate a story.
Fikele is my favorite character because she has gone through a lot. The teacher scandal, parents not her parents and online bullying. I think fikele believed the story but didn't want it to be true. That's why she pushed puleng away because she wanted her life to be normal again. The DNA test gave her the reassurance she needed but those doubts never left and when she saw the messages, the doubts were amplified and she wanted it to end so she gave in. That's why she was scared to open the letter the second time and when KB asked her she said it's definitely the truth. She always fought the beliefs and I think those her fear reimagined themselves in her dream as puleng. The puleng she is fighting is her identity, in the water she was safe and was herself (old life as a Bhele). She couldn't swim because she wrestle inside. Only after the fake results was out was when she love the water. Now she fells safe knowing she's puleng's sister but she is also a Bhele.

Just wanted to add some clarity on the madness behind Fiks mum stealing a child . Unfortunately us Africans (am Zimbabwean)can be quite insensitive and primitive when it comes to infertility. A lot of women feel very insecure in their marriage if ur unable to produce a child (traditionally your husband is able to request a replacement or additional younger wife from your family) who will give him progeny.
Tough to say if Fiks "Dad" and family would have treated the wife that way..as they seem quite wealthy,modern and emotionally supportive BUT their still traditional at the same time. It's why dad didn't know coz she did it to have a child and save face/her marriage..
She went away to her mom's house in the Eastern Cape whilst she was preggers is how she was able to lie to her hubby which women in Africa often do . Especially if there has been miscarriages

I just watched all three seasons since I saw it was trending on Netflix and I was so happy to see you had already made videos about this show! PLEASE do one about season three when you have a chance! Personally I think season 3 was the absolute wildest season and we all know every season is full of turns. I had to pause and step away multiple times because I was in straight up shock. SO, Who's gonna tell her.
Obviously we don't have the whole sister missing stuff but many "private schools" secretly have these issues but we keep quiet and move cause the image of the school is more important and this is not including the racism (blatant or not)most private schools have.
But the educations good, I guess.
