Very good review, thank you, and give yourself a little pat on the back. You've done a great job growing your channel over the years. And you have done it the hard way. Not by putting out fluff pieces with dramatic camera work. You should take pride in the fact that the channel is getting respect from manufacturers.
I kinda feel the same way about PSA as I do about Kel-Tec. The stuff they make varies from surprisingly decent to absolute garbage, but at least they do interesting things. Like they could have easily stayed in the bargain basement AR market where they already kinda dominate but instead they decided to just make clones of literally everything they can get their hands on, including "ACR we have at home" here. Gotta at least appreciate that.
If the Rifle was at $800. That would’ve been a very compelling buy over the AR-15 and AR-10. Even other rifles that would’ve been right where the Jakl is now. Which for that reason, I would rather get anything but the Jakl. Because it doesn’t look or even functions (from what I had heard on the latter) anything close to ACR and SCAR as terms of build quality to price. It seems that PSA is trying to exploit nostalgia for both gun owners who had bought the SCAR and or ACR, as well with COD gamers (even Fortnite) who had used the ACR and SCAR in the video games. But it is mainly Bushmaster’s fault for their overpriced and overzealous practice as well with FN’s overpriced their rifles because of competition didn’t shake them down.
Or save up for a Geissele SuperDuty when they're on sale, or for a similar price buy a SuperDuty upper, or the Geissele USASOC upper. The Jakl seems like a novelty.
If you have one 3 to 4 thousand dollar gun and psa guy has 6 or 7 for the same price and his 5 -6 kids are carrying them.... which is scarier to a threat?
Have the rifle and pistol version in 556 . I’ve had no problems with either one suppressed or non suppressed. Also i can tune it to shoot smoother than any other gun I’ve ever shot . Love them !
I love my Jakl , it runs flawless on #7 setting ! Have had zero issues !! My stock is actually tight compared to others , (mine was built at PSA (july-24) .Maybe a recent fix !!! Only small issue was the top picatinny rail (tight tolerance) but mine is the M-81 camo ,so I believe its the cerakote finish !!!
He also said he was going to cancel it anyways. I usually like his stuff, but not even trying to contact PSA before absolutely pooping on the rifle is kinda nuts.
My jakl is awesome. I have had no problems with it. It runs great. Has anyone actually tested "psa qc" theory. Seems a bunch of keyboard warriors doing their job. I installed the new B&T stock it's better than the f5. Still has issues but it's better. Yall hating.
Yep, I agree. They PSA in an attempt to sound knowledgeable. Most of those guys get in here to further inflate their ego and appear to know virtually nothing firearms related.
I get wanting to reach over or under with this thing. But with the charging handle that far forward as a righty, I put my charging handle back on the left.
I've always felt that the JAKL should've been a bullpup first firearm. Its weight and build just seems more appropriate for that style and I feel like it would be better than the more expensive bullpups out there
For me the only folding stocks that I have used that I actually liked were the strike industries dual folder, the SB tactical FS1913, and the Midwest industries Alpha stocks. The Sig minimalist stock that came on my MCX was great but they are nearly $300 retail so I wouldn't recommend them for that price.
Ive red some of the comments on here sound like a bunch of politicans goin back and forth politics found its way into the gun market you kno why MONEY and alot of it.
"Affiliate of PSA" Ok so you can't say anything negative about PSA since you want to keep the affiliate status and your opinion is basically irrelevant. Cool.
You’re mad he is honest about being an affiliate but then probably co-sign everything Garand Thumb says 😂 don’t be mad if PSA has a good gun on their lineup. QC is going to be a question for a long while but let’s not act like getting a good gun from them is fluke either. LMT, Sig, DD, Geissele, and even BCM have all had QC issues in the past. EoTech, Aimpoint, and NightForce in the optics world too. It happens to all manufacturers at some point. PSA is cranking out 5x the firearms of any of those other manufacturers too. If they all have a 5%-10% rate of QC issues you are going to hear about PSA mor because they produce more. There are just more samples out there. It’s simple mathematics. My buddy has a JAKL that about 6 of us have all ran hard and has been solid. I’d buy one off that experience alone. I would only buy it if had all my other ducks in a row though. Too new to be a “go to” option when there are other proven directions you could go.
@@mattwilson7344 I absolutely want PSA to make good guns. The Jakl ain’t it. Garand thumbs been bought and owned for a long time and oh look! He also gave the Jakl a glowing review! If you think any reviewer who is an affiliate of the brand they are reviewing can be honest about the guns then you are literally too stupid to talk to.
Companies like PSA who tend to innovate a lot are more likely to have a few QC issues. It comes with the territory. If you never want a QC issue then go with companies like Glock who haven't innovated anything since 2004 OR companies like Sig who have huge QC budgets but don't seem to bother with using them because just the name (like Sig P320...) means quality control. Right?
@@ranchmanager9126 Firstly, my comment was more about the reviewer than the gun itself. A reviewer who is an affiliate of the brand they are reviewing isn't trustworthy. And secondly, if we're gonna talk about the gun, innovation is not an excuse for poor quality. If your product doesn't work, it doesn't work. You can innovate and work out the problems before you start selling the guns to the public. And my opinion of Sig is the same. Their products are riddled with problems recently and I wouldn't recommend them either.
Every PSA firearm I bought has had some issue that required sending it back. Save a little bit more money and buy something of better quality. PSA is junk.
I think you nailed it on this entire genre of folding stocks. They look cool but they are awful to actually use.

Nah keltec is complete trash.
@@thesig301 But at least it's interesting trash. Who else would make a flip open 5.7 that takes upside down P90 mags out of recycled beach plastic?

Cool rifle but for the same price you can build an Aero/BCM 14.5 mid length build and not have to worry about PSA QC being hit or miss.
you can build an amazing AR for same or cheaper. BCM or DD upper and Aero lower with CMMG parts kit.
Or save up for a Geissele SuperDuty when they're on sale, or for a similar price buy a SuperDuty upper, or the Geissele USASOC upper. The Jakl seems like a novelty.
@@ReticentIndignation right. Why drop $1200 on a PSA when you can get a state of the art Geissele for about $400 more lol.
@@ChrisJanes-n2b When on sale it may be less expensive than the PSA! I've seen uppers for 1K, entire Geissele Super Dutys for 1460$.
But this is a piston gun… only comparison is a SCAR, ACR… for the price it’s cheap..

Focus Tripp lost his affiliate link with PSA after his video review dropped. And as always...thanks for the share!!

Good for you. I just don’t like the price point of it. And that’s actually the only reason why I am not compelled of getting it.
Man if people trained to be better people like they do with guns damn tjus would be a amazing country
The zhukov stock is really sturdy and they offer it as a jakl lower
I’m getting one in 300acc, I’m really looking forward to it

Just saw palmetto is offering it with a B&T stock now
I bought the stock alone for $200 lol
Is it better?

Its good. I got 2k rounds through mine no issues. I mean with time well know more. Its a fun rifle, especially suppressed

Its mid. But for the price, there are simpler or more figured out riflesm
I just wish they had longer than 16 inches
I got the 13.7 with the shorter rail and with a forgrip i dont really notice the weight anymore. So far my stock is very tight
