Heya, just fyi, they made a song specifically about the Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence. It's the second disk of this Album. But be warned in case you want to react to it: It's on the longer side. About 45 minutes I think(?)
@@justjavaughn If you react to that 45 minute epic, I recommend you check out their live performance from Radio City Music Hall in New York. It can be found on TH-cam. It´s from a DVD called Dream Theater: Score. That performance was in 2006. Then there is another epic song with Dream Theater called "Octavarium." That is also on the same DVD and that song is 24 minutes. It´s considered one of their best songs, one that includes everything that Dream Theater is musically about. You might actually want to do that one before the 45 minute epic. It´s a bit easier to digest. Thank you for the Glass Prison reaction.
This song is about the first 3 steps of the Alcohol Anonymous. Which has 12 steps. Dream Theater do the whole of the 12 step suite. The Glass Prison [Six Degrees of inner Turbulence] This Dying Soul [Train of Thought] The Root of all Evil [Octavarium] Repentance [Systematic Chaos] The Shattered Fortress [Black Clouds and Silver Linings] You should of really started with the song that got Dream Theater noticed. Then go deeper in to their Catalogue. Pull Me Under is that song but i would do the album version as the video is cut by about 3 minutes.
I strongly suggest you do a live reaction, not many bands do these type of instrumentation decent in live performances. I suggest you "in the name of God" live from budokan. Most of the air guitars you were playing was actually keyboards 😅
Well aside from Portnoy trying to learn Tool this was my first exposure to DT and I gotta say I'm not a fan (58 maybe too old for this) the singer didn't impress and the song was all over the place like it was just for each member to solo and go crazy. I'll stick to Tool / Led and Sabbath thx
I get your take on this. The time signatures changed a couple times and there was some sections of the song that seemed a bit drawn out. Overall, it was a good song. I think it’s better if I check out the entire album to get something to compare this song with.
If you like the more heavy stuff, i recommend "Train of thought" the whole album except One short song is very heavy and so good !
I’ll check it out.

I’ll consider reacting to it on a live stream. Thanks for the update 🤟🏾

Please watch the live versions
I will.
@@justjavaughnthey have several very long concert dvds, uploaded to TH-cam. Live at the Budokahn is a personal favorite. Seeing them play is epic
@@jima6545 Agreed. When reacting for the first time to any Dream Theater song, the live version from Budokan is usually the best choice.
Live score is another good@@DSephi
I like the zooms haha

I will check out *Pull me under* next. Thanks for your insight. I appreciate it. 🤟🏾

BTW I really enjoyed your live reaction, and for an amateur you are expert in knowing when to pause. That's a little tricky in prog music
I will check this out. 🤟🏾
Thanks for your suggestion.
I really appreciate that. Thank you. Which other prog metal band should I check out?
I'm gonna suggest a band that doesn't get heard that much on you tubers.
Agalloch
The song I suggest is "in the shadow of our pale companion"
You need to check another Canadian musical genius by the name of Devin Townsend, if you haven't already. Thank me later....
I will add him to the list. Thanks 🤟🏾
@@justjavaughn Cool, I'll watch out for it.
Not comparable, but just ok. DT are the true masters!
