Peak is happening
Peak in what way?…can you elaborate on that?
there's no way I can ignore when I see someone's reaction to this song. But hardly anyone manages to keep my attention because I don't feel like they get into the song like you do, they just talk a lot and interrupt the song. But your facial expression says it all. I think I'm had exactly the same reaction when I first saw this. The song has absolutely everything I love about music; the influence of the bands I love the most turned into a unique style, it even encouraged me to embrace the growl that made me avoid listening to Opeth for too long, but I didn't I had no idea that they would become my N1 band. Akerfeldt is a musical genius who listens to all genres of music and I simply adore his powerful "angel/demon" voice. Also their development through the years, evolution and changes is amazing... and yet they remain recognizable. I at the end of it all, they managed to put everything together in their fantastic new album.
🐐 🐐 🐐
❕
Rush is the best band ever. 80's Rush is the best !!!!
I’m less than 5 songs into their discography and I’m already loving their music. Which other Rush song from the 80s should I check out next?
I was tripping hard too when I was walking down the halls of my suburban High school and some white Brother with playing this song in His locker as I was listening to Tom Sawyer I asked those around me amazing who in the World 🌎 is that already being a Lover of drums since the age of 5 astounded I asked Him who is this He said “RUSH man you never heard of RUSH” . I said “No have you ever heard of Parliament Funkadelic”. He said no. I said OK then we’re even. I started going to RUSH concerts for Neil Pearts Drums skills to try to learn them amazing !!!
The trippy visuals are so appropriate for this song. Nice work
That album is 41 years old and still relevant.
Music is forever my friend. I’m glad that I found out about Rush when I did. Their music is legendary.
For a fun time listen to the bass line in 'The Eneny Within'
That's not a piano
What is it?
@justjavaughn synthesizer
This guy wasn't even born when Moving Pictures was released. Great to see the younger generation listening.
Grew up on this 😊
Check out Neil Peart’s drum solo from Frankfurt. Unbelievable.
Young buck... check out 'vital signs' from the same album
I will ❕
Rush is the GOAT! Take a listen to TOOL - The Pot. I think you will dig it
I'll check it out
Greatest most talented band EVER!
Close; that goes to Led Zeppelin.
@ um NO! Great band though
Ha! W E L C O M E .
My favorite teen song
Opeth=Movies
And still not even the best tune on MP.
What is the best tune on MP?
@@justjavaughn he's probably gonna say Limelight but Red Barchetta is also baller, YYZ is an instrumental on that album.
Rush was considered a band's band
Still are. I call it musicians music. Like Dream Theater or Spock’s Beard.
@@dennissnyder7886 Back in the 80's we said they were a Musician's Musicians band. 😂
Rush is like a car with a massive engine. They take rock and unleash it's power.
should check out The Count Of Tuscany. it's like 40 minutes long, great song
The whole 12 step suite series is… amazing
Glass Prison is great! I have to say my favorite song is Misunderstood though.
I will check that out.
One of my favorite songs from them
Which Dream Theater song is your second favorite?
Blackwater Park next please. Happy to see you like it. One of two top bands for me. Keep it up 🙂👍
Great suggestion. I’ll check it out. 🗣️
One of my favorite songs ever
I can see why. It’s definitely my favorite Opeth song thus far.
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥❤ Opeth, Harlequin Forest live at Royal Alber Hall. (the one posted by patrick thorne. it has 1M views) Subscribed for more Opeth.
I will check that out. Thanks.
@@justjavaughn Cool. Thanks
I liked it, I really love progressive metal that takes you on a journey.
With no hate to the people recommending this live version of Ghost of Perdition... but I don't really like it as much as the Roundhouse Tapes one... Like his growling in much more brutal and his clean voice sounds me nicer. I guess the sound mix is better on Red Rocks tho... But just personal preference
I’ll check out that version to see what you are talking about.
I agree, but I don't think it matters that much because this is so strong that it makes you explore and start an adventure
Its whatever a band who got so crazy and big they can do whatever they want in a weird ass video. The videos just get weirder. Enjoy
I can’t help but think that there is something more to this weird video, but I’ll take your word for it. Maybe one day I’ll understand why.
Listen to Laturalus album in the "Holy Trinity" layout .... Also listen to the whole new Fear Inoculum album
I’ll add this to my catalog.
Regular
What’s regular about it? They have regularly epic concerts?
I strongly suggest you do a live reaction, not many bands do these type of instrumentation decent in live performances. I suggest you "in the name of God" live from budokan. Most of the air guitars you were playing was actually keyboards 😅
BTW I really enjoyed your live reaction, and for an amateur you are expert in knowing when to pause. That's a little tricky in prog music
I will check this out. 🤟🏾 Thanks for your suggestion.
I really appreciate that. Thank you. Which other prog metal band should I check out?
I'm gonna suggest a band that doesn't get heard that much on you tubers. Agalloch The song I suggest is "in the shadow of our pale companion"
Now their top 5 songs please! :)
Definitely 🤟🏾
Check out the bands: Mastodon, Alien Weaponry and Pull Down The Sun
I will. 🤟🏾
For me the best performance of Silvera : the 2016 Hellfest is better
Why do you think it was better?
@justjavaughn voice is better
Okay. I’ll check it out. Honestly, I think I rather this performance based on the overall cinematic experience.
Doesn't sound anything like the Beatles.
As a huge Rush fan myself, I've never thought about that song that way. But I can hear it now that you said it.
Exactly. There are some slight similarities.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
never compare Rush to those awful brits again
Wenn die USA nicht aufpassen, haben die sehr bald einen Bürgerkrieg.
How come?
Orbit culture- the shadowing. They are called the Swedish gojira
I’ll add them to my list.
Who’s your favorite rock band?
Tbh, Gojira is my favorite (And I'm listening music for 30years now)
Is this the best Dream Theater song?
Well aside from Portnoy trying to learn Tool this was my first exposure to DT and I gotta say I'm not a fan (58 maybe too old for this) the singer didn't impress and the song was all over the place like it was just for each member to solo and go crazy. I'll stick to Tool / Led and Sabbath thx
I get your take on this. The time signatures changed a couple times and there was some sections of the song that seemed a bit drawn out. Overall, it was a good song. I think it’s better if I check out the entire album to get something to compare this song with.
Love this one. Great reaction.
This song was released in 1981 recorded in 1980. and a fun fact about this song as you can see, the video was recorded in the recording studio. When they were recording their album, this was actually one of the songs they disliked the most out of everything they recorded. They reworked the song multiple times adding in the keyboard. I think it was the a last edition by Getti Lee the lead, singer, bass & keyboard player. And so the final song you hear on the album is the final reworked version. They were content to put on, but they really did not like the song. Or felt it was to their level of how they like to make music and back then things were laid on magnetihc tape tracks. So vocals, guitar, keyboard, drums done on their own tracks. So reworking the song more than what they did would have been a lot of work back then. Unlike today. Everything's in the computer. A little easier to final mix something without the brutal process of cutting and spicing tape and all that stuff. So They record a video while. They're recording the song cause I don't think they wanted to revisit this song in a video style of any kind. They weren't really liking it only for it to be released by the label that liked the song so imagine their surprise that it becomes their number one biggest hit loved by their fans. Won a multitude of awards, the song that band did not like and reworked multiple times and only put it on the album because they had invested so much time in the song and needed to get it done for the album for it to be their biggest hit in their career.
Come back bro! Moar Tool. You like the story telling by the instrumentation, listen to “Bottom”
Thanks for the reaction, JJ... love the site ,new subscriber...can't wait for more....be blessed, Todd from Ohio...
