It's funny how a game so old and primitive can have such brilliant AI. The entire segment where ster_ keeps getting killed by HECU, culminating in 9:27 is genuinely such a good showcase for why this game still holds up.
Not really though. That room is heavily manually scripted with triggers that force the soldiers to move in a way like the flank manouvre. They dont do that on their own.
If you haven't seen the whole streams they're great. Lots of confident bhopping through stuff he doesn't remember. His memory of some areas seemed to be from the famous 20 minute segmented speedrun. Like when he gets to the cliffside in Surface Tension he mentions the speedrun just flying from the entrance to the exit.

I don't care what SEGA says now, in 1994 they were two separate games you could lock on for funsies cuz they were developed as one. i liked this video, i dont usually like just stream clips but the chosen clips were connected well, there wasn't too much stream gunk on the screen (chat/donation goal for example), and the little editing touches were rlly good so yeah i liked it :)

You mean lack thereof? The game was never meant to run on the systems of today. It got a single update recently that fixed a bunch of stuff induced by running it on modern hardware.@@dimitar4y
