honestly if they updated the map textures and models it would of been better, but it kind of looks gross because the map's textures don't look anything like the weapons
they both had HD models for basically the same time as each other, but recently original HL had them turned off by default. you can still re-enable them whenever you want in the graphics settings. in fact, source's "hd models" aren't the same HD models used in original half life. they're actually from a fanmade mod that valve developers mistakenly added to the game and never cared to fix. so source's "hd models" are arguably "worse" because they clash pretty heavily with the original half life graphics, even more so than the official HD models.

half-life soruce isnt better graphically at all. it completely ruins the artstyle of the game with high quality textures and water slapped on what look awful with HL1 graphics. also the HD models are just a direct downgrade from the original. It's a complete downgrade in nearly every way

HL:S is technically better, it's just a shame that it's broken, and the artstyle isn't entirely restructed... brush map vehicles and geometry don't suit the water, or particles as well...
Hes using the "Non-Fixed" version of HL:S. You can spot this by listening to the sound crowbar makes when it hits glass or the boxes. HL:S got busted with the steam pipe. Every patch broke the game more (AI and visuals for example) and nobody from Valve took care of it. There is a fan patch for HL:S that fixes most of the issues caused by steam pipe and its simply called...Half-Life: Source Fixed Hes also using the HD Models for the game instead of vanilla ones and in comparison videos like these, its little bit cheating imo lol
