Aging Wheels is one of the funniest car channels and deserves more subs. He's drily hilarious but knows his way around mechanical things. He doesn't post often but his videos are high quality.

Talking only about the cars, Robert obviously does not know why his channel is SO popular. I submit it is his humor, humility, and amazing editing skills. Pure Entertainment.

Aging Wheels is definitely one of my favorites. I like Trabants myself, and always wondered what they sounded and drove like. But thanks to Robert's channel, I now know what the inside of the engine looks like, and I know you can take a Trabant shift lever onto an airplane if you just say it's your cane.
I love the strange cars. Nothing made me laugh harder than the Top Gear guys driving a Robbin or a Reaver.
no matter how long his hybrid bus car hauler thing build takes, I'm still waiting for it. Could be 5 years, could be 10, so long as I can find his videos I will be watching.

I remember finding his channel after I saw Doug Demuro review his Trabant. Aging Wheels wasn't an amazing channel at the time but I'm glad I stuck around, it's one of my favorite YT channels now.
Robert if your reading this.. you should look into caterham alternatives. In the UK you can get some nice alternatives that are often really good and cheap as chips in comparison. From 'West fields' which are very similar to caterhams, to things a bit more unusual like a 'panther' kit car that are pretty unusual things.
So cool to hear Robert knows of FOTU! Went there for the first time this year, such a cool show!

Honestly one of my favorite automotive channels.
9500 for a Lada. I remember when they could give these away. Remember my grandad have an estate one, 12k on the clock and about 6 years old. Grand sum of £320 in early 2000s.
You need to check out The Lane Motor Museum in Nashville Tennessee
He made a few videos there. I think he drove some weird French EV with center seating, maybe the Volkswagen XL1 (maybe that was Doug D.), and some other weird little thing.
Aging Wheels is interesting. The Hubnut channel Robert mentioned is also very good.

That being said, they may be total piles but they're practically indestructible.

I LOVE Aging Wheels! I have owned a few weird cars and still own one. (1996 Geo Metro, Electric, Solectria.) So much worse than a stock Geo Metro.

9500 for a lada? Does it have a rotary engine? Because then its still way too much but at least they are rear and were never sold to the public.
If I had a shop and garage, I’d probably end up just like him. Uniqueness usually outweighs performance when choosing cars.
I don't disagree, eastern block cars are very unique and interesting. Some day, i'd like a German Wartburg 353.

Aging Wheels is by far my favorite channel on TH-cam, and Under Dunn is not far behind!
If You are technically inclined these kind of cars is where's at. Most internet "content" it's based on bolt ons or straight up consummerism without technical prowees. An old weird car is hard and rewarding and fun to daily, a race car on a track is better but free people can allways be racing. I was just seeing some brazilian dudes making a v250 motorcycle out off two 125 singles, that's way more fun and i empatice more with them than another blown ls being an emviromental disaster for no reason in honigan

I'm not even a car enthusiast, period, and I love to watch his videos. His sense of humour, scripts and video editing style is just amazing!
The bits where he tells you he has no idea what he's doing and just going at it are the best moments.

Aging Wheels / Robert Dunn is, far and away, one of the most authentic and genuine guys on TH-cam. His channel is VERY entertaining, sometimes informative, and all in all absolutely worth supporting.
I'm so glad I found robs channel just as he got the robin, such a great channel. Living in the UK means we get some weird and wonderful stuff from all over the place at shows, some of it really must be terrifying at any speed above stationary, but a reliant model I've always liked is the scimitar, such a cool looking car
I'm a big fan of robs channel too as well Hubnut. Also a UK viewer, ironically, there is a blue reliant scimitar sitting on a driveaway, neglected covered in leaves on my way to work that I've gone past for the last 7 years.

Anyone who loves weird cars NEEDS to go to the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville Tennessee. It is packed full of oddball one-offs and other crazy stuff.
Still have my trabant .... chopped the roof off with a hand saw ( it's made from cardboard...wood...), the carburetor is by gravity so we made a bigger flow ( gave it more hp ) .... it's the same white yellowish color, 4 speed column shifter .... and not many people know but in 4th if you take your foot off the gas, the engine goes into sleep mode 🤣🤣
As someone who owns a square body Chevy luv, a 5 speed 2 door Cherokee, and a limo, I can relate to the weird car niche and his fascination with them

This guy has one of my favorite automotive TH-cam channels. He's hilarious, the cars he profiles (whether or not they're his) are always interesting and different, and there's just something endearing about the way he goes "WHEEEEEE" when driving his Robin in circles.
Yup, I was thinking HubNut was his UK counterpart to his eclectic taste in off brand cars. Ian of HubNut also has a kind of humor that makes you laugh like Robert does on his observations. It must be the kind of personality that's drawn to oddball cars that brings it out in them both. Also if you know what the "Triangle Of Doom" is in relation to proper coverage, than you've seen HubNut give his opinion of a car for sure.

I was almost fooled by the thumbnail, I didn't recognize Rob at first.
When I dropped by Walmart once I saw a familiar looking, baige, econo-hatch from the 80s it seemed. I stopped parked next to him. Then I realized it was Yugo. I was like: "That's cool a hell, is that a Yugo?". The guy was like: "I got it for my wife. She wanted one...I'm surprised you even know what this is given the car you're in." I said: "I may drive a car on the fancier side but I'm a nerd for weird or unusual cars."

The average soviet wage was 200 Rubles per month. To get a Lada you needed to be on like a 8 year wait list and come up with 10k Rubles. So as you can imagine people treasured these cars. The exported Ladas had more options to compete with non-communist brands. In the USSR people took their wiper blades with them because limited production led to thefts.

I used to own a 258,000 mile Toyota with lots of things broken on it, but unfortunately someone crashed into me and now it's 'no more' but I did get to replace it with a similar (but much better) Toyota, so it's too good to show off as it's only got 160,000 miles on it !
You see the Saab 96? Well, it's grille looks like a 1959 Edsel's grille. Don't know why people did a BIG mistake hating the Edsel, if some cars have grilles that look just like the Edsel's grille.
I recently got myself a VW Lupo 3L, which'd fall in the category of weird cheap cars. As I picked it up, there was also a nice looking Corvette. I didn't care for it t all. And that made me think. Being attracted to cars you couldn't or wouldn't afford is all good. But being attracted to cars that are (too) easy to afford makes you buy them in the end. Plus I also got the space (own a farm). So will I end up being a guy who owns twenty shitty cars? I feel, I'm getting sucked into that lifestiyle.
