- The KV-2 in War Thunder is one of the most iconic Derp Gun tanks in the game! In today's War Thunder Video, I show you a secrete hidden inside the Anti-Concrete Shell that you might not have known!
The Russian KV-2 Heavy Tank has one of the largest calibre guns in War Thunder. At 152mm it can launch an Anti Concrete round packed with high explosive at a target that's 1000's of metres away. There aren't many vehicles in War Thunder that can take this kind of abuse, so it's an extremely fun vehicle to play.
The KV-2 is also based of off the KV chassis giving it 75mm of armour protection at the front and sides. This makes angling this vehicle pretty easy. However, the turret ring due to it being round gives an easy 75mm minimum armour to penetrate no matter where the turret is turned.
For a heavy tank, the KV-2 isn't that survivable but it does have the dear factor that most vehicles in War Thunder don't have. No one wants to be shadow realmed by the mighty 152mm!

Always used the AC shell once the HE shells became incredibly RNG on their damage. When you can't kill someone with a penetration, just use it like you would with HE.

I wish the ISU-152 had AC, 1m of concrete penetration, that's 1000mm, not sure what it would do but I think it would obliterate. Also wished they added the varient of it that had a longer barrel and anti-tank 152mm that was designed to kill Ferdinands and Yagtigers. Though I think this version would be without the 50cal as the 50cal was added on post WW2 version's.

My favorite tank in the game, I literally rushed the enemy team the first game I played and got a double ace even with my 40 seconds reload. I pretty much had a little angel on my shoulder that game.

If the reload was faster, it would be an absolute beast
and thats why its reload got nerfed
I played it earlier and got 3 kills just by pushing people who didn’t know I was reloading haha. They panic and start to reverse and more often than not back themselves into a wall or get stuck on something
Just use the SU-152, It has a better gun and I think a 10-15 second faster reload
Tip: max out all the crews reload, and you’ll decrease the loading time to under 32 seconds of reload.

actually u didnt get penetrated by the mg, its just a bug that just shows mgs instead of an actual tank shell, happens a lot to me!
Well, I was playing with a friend and he killed one of my crew members with it's MG.
I was in the Italian Sherman VC and I was giving him my front when he shot me whit the mg, we were in the simulation mode

@@danjuntar2481 it can’t. The only mg that *could* pen the Sherman from the front is the Russian 14.5, but that’s very iffy at best, since I’m fairly certain only the mg port would’ve been thin enough for it to pen. Otherwise, it’s just Gaijin being dumb.

Found a pretty fun combo with the ebr (1951) at 4.7 and the b26c marauder also at 4.7, with the two 2000 lb bombs, a lot of fun. I think it would make for a good video, love the content
only problem I havr in the B26 is that the 2000lb bombs are loaded at the top of the bomb bay and seem to take a few seconds to actually drop out of the plane. have to hit spacebar really early in bomb sight
I love when you hit a perfect shot and the game just gives you a ghost shell. Best part is the reload is so quick that when you go to shot again you are back in the hangar. This is why i play less and less wt.

I was using the HE shell before the overpressure or full break was added and it has always been my favorite derp cannon

A Like well-earned. I absolutely loved the Anti-Concrete shell when I played the KV-2 some years ago. It's so damn forgiving, which is badly needed when you got to make every shell count. I don't recall if the KV-2 was higher BR when I played, but I do remember there was a fair few situations where I remember being surprised at seeing some tanks on the field with me.

The KV-2 has had it's anti Concrete shells removed but the HE is a godsend now, don't underestimate the HE rounds. Also it has more pen now.

1:10 it wasn't actually the MG, there's a sound bug going on for some reason that makes some tank's main gun sound like MG bullets hitting you

I got the Tortoise yesterday, its very fun to just absorb shells, might be my first that that i max out crew on
I remember playing with my mates making a squad of 4 kv2s…we went down a street to a point and witnessed the enemy shit their pants and runaway from the point. We then took it, set up defensive positions and then dominated. One thing I love about it, is even if you’re still reloading, you can push up the a dozen enemies, and they’d be too scared to push up, meaning you can reload in the time they eventually decide to push up.
When I saw anti concrete rounds, I thought it would be an AVRE video.

@@DatBoi_TheGudBIAS The 165mm L9 is specifically designed for defeating barriers and obstacles. It is not an anti-tank weapon in its primary role.
Hey Odd, I’m fairly certain in the intro where you get penned by a mg it’s actually a tank shell, mines been bugged recently as well where the getting shot sound is just not played but the machine gun sound is if they fire then shoot their mgs at you so I think that’s it

He did but the MG round was the one that did the damage. It's a bug that doesn't happen very often.
@@OddBawZ hard to tell, the symbol of the turrel being stuck appeared right when the shell hit, but the damage display showed nothing, then your crew died... Still you're right, it did happen to me few years ago in a Panther 2. A friend got me TK with a single .50cal through my turret ring 😂
oh, and the crew symbol when from 6 to 5 right when the shell had hit the tank, before the mg 😉

As a World of Tanks Blitz Tank Destroyer StuG III and other paper armor TDs enjoyer, KV-2 slowly turning it's turret on your position is one of the scariest sheet you could see. You can see your one hit doom slowly turning towards you.

LOL I think the MG pen at 1:12 is just a sound bug, it happened to me a few times in a Comet and Cent Mk.1 against Tigers and Panthers
if you enjoyed being able to overpressure anyone, use the homegrown italian vehicles, like the P40, you can do the same thing but with a much better reload

The KV2 is brilliant but I prefer the SU152, it’s round is more accurate and it’s far smaller and easier for ambushing, it’s also faster I’m pretty sure.

it might sound like you get penned by mgs sometimes but that's because console players have the same binding for cannons and mgs. For some reason you only hear the mg sound.
I played Kv-2 slowly just like Is-2, when it comes to Soviet armor those 2 Tanks I enjoy the most
With the commander doing the loading and firing while the radio operator drives I get a reload time of around 65 seconds.

Luckily WT has so many types of rounds, whenever they nerf one, there is another broken one to use. Theonly thing missing now are gold shells.
