- The PO-2M in War Thunder is the low tier reward for Operation Overpowered. It might be the slowest plane in War Thunder BUT it does get Incendiary Bombs at battle rating 1.0!
I thought it would be fun to go hunt down open tops with fire in the PO-2M! The PO-2M incendiary bombs can literally set fire to a small area which denies enemy open top vehicles access to areas that are burning.
Oh, also... yes! You can totally just drop them directly on top! :)
One of the most fun things you can do in War Thunder! Shame you spawn so far away! Haha :)

4:48 - I love how the plane just falls apart when hitting the building at almost 150km/h and then VIOLENTLY EXPLODES after gently touching the ground.
War Thunder follows "toon physics".
If you’ve seen planes that fall to the ground even at apparently low speeds, it still generates that exact fireball

@@JoshX9706 yeah when you think about it, even the softest belly landing on really rough terrain with cause the plane to fold and start tumbling irl, which is no better or worse then a massive fireball and scattering of surprisingly in tact parts of plane sliding across what seems like ice.
The delayed kill with the fire where they are still alive but doomed just reminds me of napalm in RS2 how you can burn for a second before dying

7:35 the fact the german SPAA didnt even try to shoot at the plane flying straight at it is quite telling.
Dude it’s a 50% chance that a German SPAA is only there to try to kill light tanks. I have strafed six of them with a p-47 yesterday, only 2 decided to try and shoot and only 1 succeeded

Napalm can still act as a regular bomb, if you hit close enough. You can even destroy T-54s

Fun Fact Odd, USSR only has Event/Premium seaplanes/flying boats. Compare this to Sweden as we know it, which does not have a navy in game has Tech Tree Seaplanes and also has the helicopter which can land on water.

a little tip for being trolly with prop bombers: turn off your engine when you're going to go over them, you'll be entirely silent and keep basically all of your speed and can go back to max throttle after you get the kill
I always use idle when bombing in RB..
This is a verified strategy with the real po-2 that night bomber regiment 588 of USSR used, it was devastating. The regiment was all female. They earned the name “Night Witches”

I’ve got up close to a real po-2 they’re just such a simplistic design, crazy to think they served for such a long time.

i dropped an incindiary bomb right into the openining on the Hellcat, and the dude just sat there, slowly burning alive, but not doing anything. it was honestly really creepy.
The Po-2 historically was used for very low altitude night bombings specifically for its light weight and slow speeds, it could glide with a (purposefully) stalled engine, just above treetop height. Look up the ww2 russian *Night Witches* true badasses of ww2

Loved the high tech CGI explanation 😆. I think the fire should affect tank engines temporarily if they are bombed or drive through it. Lack of oxygen etc.
