there is the saying: those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. and this game's general story seems to mirror ocarina of time. i think it is fair to say that hyrule lost the records of what had happend in the past and thus a repeat occured (sorry if this seems like a rambling. im dutch and this was just a theory that popped in my head)

My own personal opinion on the whole "refounding of Hyrule" is that the Zonai are the descendants of Skyloftians that stayed in the sky. Over the Course of the series they were cut off and developed their own history, hence why this is the first we are hearing about them. Some time after the branch timeline converges they descend, either out of curiosity or desire to reunite with their long lost kin the Hylians, and by then the history of Hyrule, the triforce, everything had been forgotten, so the Zonai introduce a sort of historical renaissance for the surface world, founding the new kingdom of Hyrule.

Your actually quite on a roll here, In fact, lets add on to this. Kotake and Koume are Witches, Normally witches make pacts witch dark beings to maintain their powers. Dark beings like demons. So Heres my addition to your theory, They Made a Pact with Demise to maintain his curse by "Forming a bond" with him as Twinrova and They Spawn his Heir every 100 years.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Demise is a "bunshin" in the japanese localization of Skyward Sword so he's NOT the "Big Bad" of the Zelda franchise. Rather it's the _Demon Tribe_ which spawned him as an "extension" of themselves to carry the title of "Demon King" and oppose the God Tribe only mentioned in the japanese localization of the Skyward Sword. If Koume and Kotake did in fact make a pact with a dark being it must have been someone else as Demise died *for good* with no means to return.
¿How would they be able to "spawn" Ganondorf though...? I hope you don't mean they are literal _biological_ mothers of Ganondorf for i can't imagine how weird and convoluted it would be for 2 women to fuse with one another in order to carry a "demon child" in their womb for 9 months before becoming seperate afterwards. That's a little too farfetched to be plausible.

Finally, here's a note from the translator on Demise's "name" in Japanese:
"Shueen" normally means "end" or "apocalypse", so it should be the "Apocalyptic One". Yet when Zelda speaks of him during your reunion in the past (Hylia's Temple) she mentions his name in the context of "The Shuuen no Mono which desired to rule the world".
There, according to my Japanese teacher (a Japanese from Oosaka himself) told me that there was a trick: given how this guy wanted to "rule" then the meaning changed to that of "ruler" or "tyrant", so "Tyrannical Being" is a correct translation.
In short: in Japan he's known as either "Demon King" or "Tyrannical Being" yet he doesn't have a "name" per se (because he's a "bunshin" CREATED by the Demon Tribe).
As you can see in the accurate translation above the "Tyrannical Being" did NOT CREATE the Demon Tribe: it was _the other way around._

Not sure if you were joking about the punch, but it's likely that he just left his weapon stuck inside her back. This cutscene in general is a cool throwback to Ganondorf being an assassin and already possessing a dagger in OoT, even if not using it in any fights or cutscenes
Still not 100% sold on the ear thing since it reads a bit like a typical Nintendo afterthought to explain away inconsistencies. They definitely should have put more and better hints in TotK to make the series more cohesive. A lot of wasted potential there

Which caused the goddesses to finally realize maybe it wasn’t the best to allow Ganondorf to keep the Triforce of power so they took that and fuses the other two Triforce pieces to fuse with Zelda and Link. They then told their descendants to go down there and watch over Hyrule. They wanted to make sure Ganondorf never got power again but obviously they failed.

Sounds sick and gross 😝 but is a historically funny way of theorizing how Ganondorf could be born, LMAO! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If that didn’t happen it would break the entire time travel scope 🤷‍♂️. I do like the idea of twinrova being the reincarnated beings. With them recreating ganondorf repeatedly every time, basically dragging the piece of demise back to life every time.
It would make sense too. Step 1 create a spell that causes your spirits to be reborn into twin gerudo girls some 100 years or so later. Step 2 grow up and practice your magic, gaining even more power. Step 3 recreate your son to try to take over the world. If you fail and die, your spells activates again and you take it from the top after most of the people alive at the time are already dead from old age.

my theory about Ganondorf not holding a weapon is that the dagger (that is the geoglyph) wasn't pulled out, and thus is still in Sonia's back. Nintendo, being Nintendo, didn't make the bloody dagger obvious because... yea. thats just my theory.
edit: i also think the reason the one Gerudo man every 100 years thing stops in botw is because Ganondorf is still "alive" (still exists), so they con't create a new Ganondorf. perhaps male Gerudo were always being born, but just like in botw, they were sent to live with their dad. it wasn't mentioned because what they mean is that every 100 years, Ganondorf is recreated.

I just realized that ganondorf has gloom/malice powers before getting the secret stone, when he was just a gerudo. Hes always been something of a dark wizard, and we know he has koune and kotake to train him, but i wonder if this is just an ability specific to this reincarnation of ganondorf. And because he had the secret stone, his power was strong enough to build up and spread his influence over hyrule, even while he was sealed by rauru.

You bring up an interesting point. It seems like a crazy theory but reincarnation seems to be a factor beyond Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf with Beedle, Impa and many others. It could make sense that they revive. It could also explain his rounded ears. TotK's Ganondorf is a literal resurrection of Ganondorf from OoT, rather than a new incarnation. If he was a reincarnation he would likely have pointed ears but he doesn't. I don't believe it is factually proven by a longshot, but at the moment I cannot think of any major counterpoints to refute this theory.

  • @MauChao195

My theory is completely different. I think after that after the events of four swords adventures a literal war broke out between hylians and the gerudo. Since they found out they killed ganon (their king) before fsa they did dark rituals to bring back the wind mage vaati from ancient times to take zelda away and drain the light force again. Then the events go on. The 2 gerudo women are friendly because they don't believe dark magic is the right way and they are on the sides of the hylians so they were cast out. After ganon was defeated again, as i said the war broke out and the gerudo brought back kotake and koume by using similar rituals to overthrow hyrule entirely so the hyland used the triforce for the wish to reforge hyrule from the start. Note that the adult timeline is the only one where the triforce didn't get used.

My theory is that the destruction of Hyrule Fuyibayashi is talking about is when the three timelines merged, Chaos ensued and all knowledge of previous Zelda timelines were lost.
Time passed, most likely the three Goddesses of creation sent the Zonai to restore Hyrule using the tears, thousands of years later Rauru and Sonia finally brought up together and rebuilt Hyrule.
Several thousand years later happened The Calamity from 10 thousand years appears. According to the tale, the Sheika were already prepared for the Calamity to aid the Princess and the chosen hero, (Implying the Calamity has been happening before but we don't know how many times and for how long).
10 thousand years later The Calamity returns, kicks Link's butt, Zelda put to sleep the Calamity.
    100 years later BOTW starts
    7 Years later TOTK starts.
That's how I've come to understand it so far.

Hey Bandit! Out of pockey theory here, I completely love this one! Great theory at the end, which I love and may stick with.
My out of pocket theory though, is what if - and I've said this before - everything is relevent? In the vastness of "time immemorial" (Deku Tree), everything we know in Zelda lore, all in one timeline because it has, at some point in Hyrules life ("time immemorial") DID happen. One timeline; the downfall happened. A migration happened (thus the size), aliens happened (MM), there are realms long forgotten, inaccessible, temples repurposed, destroyed and new homes built overtop. The decline (a great depression) of Hyrule. A prosperous time before and after. Think of Hyrule like our literal world. What we know of the past is written in history books, but there is so we don't know - like dinosaurs, cave men, ice ages, really think about how much mankind has seen and how muddled (lol) and blown out of proportion. Its a bold take, but my subject of interest in real life is history, I'm a bit bias ;)
Literally everything we know has happened in the time of Hyrules founding. There are no restrictions any longer, with this thinking. Adding your theory of twinrova into the mix, just mends a few broken pieces I originally had.
A ressurection of twinrova in Tears would have been amazing, but unnecessary since he (Ganondorf) wasn't dead, just sealed.
