    The guy in the vid saying he made 6 figures before graduation is TOTAL B.S. I'm currently schooling at MyComputerCareer and graduate in a month, I have 5 certifications and have religiously applied at literally over a hundred positions for entry level paying between $20-$25/hr and haven't even had 1 interview. Please don't let these guys lie to you about the quick income you'll make ... That being said I'm starting WGU in a couple months myself to get my bachelor's so the rest of the info in the video is valid

    Great video, Dan. I'm 20 years old, and just graduated community college with a gen-ed associate's degree. My current plan is to go into WGU's Software Engineering program, but I will be looking into their cybersecurity program, too. I love that you gave us an example of how somebody who was young and had relatively little work experience was able to do WGU and be successful at it. Most of the people that do WGU have already worked 5+ years in the field and just need a degree for whatever reason, so it gives me a lot of confidence seeing people like you making it work for them, too.
    Hope you were able to nail a killer job!

    • @vmxdla2025
      @vmxdla2025 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not Necessarily. Most people DO NOT have experience in the field they are getting the degree for. If you take third party classes for college credit you can do 70% of the WGU classes before enrolling so you can finish in a semester

    I’m going to switch next semester from my in person university to WGU. I’m going back to Amazon. WGU accepts the $5200 tuition reimbursement for as many classes you can take during the year. Instead of that $5200 only paying for 2.5 classes. I felt like I needed in person. But I ended up taking my business, Python, and SQL online anyway! This will be so much faster.

I currently go to an online college right now and going to transfer to WGU. I’m thinking about taking courses at Sophia first too since I heard it’s easier on there. Hopefully I can finish in one term too. What were some study tips you did everyday?

    • @danigan9564

      I don't have much knowledge regarding that degree cuz I never took it but its probably good! Sophia will most def help you lessen the amount of classes you gotta take once you start wgu. Study tips- use note cards, write things down on paper, say things out loud to help with retention. Be resourceful! Utilize reddit and search up class codes like "D234 wgu reddit" so look for postings of people who did the same class you are working on and see what they did. Pace yourself when studying. So I got into business and now I am doing well. I am a manager at a manufacturing company and I earn good money.

    Great video!! I am currently a student at a local Community College where I've earned 24 credits, but due to not passing my math courses twice there's a possibility that I may not be able to complete my Associate's degree program. I came across WGU two years ago, and was impress with the option to obtain a degree in 6 months. How was the transfer of credits process with WGU?

    • @danigan9564
      @danigan9564  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The school is pretty generous when it comes to transferring credits as compared to other schools.

    Great video man! I"m 25 and currently 2 years into a completely different career. I've been looking into this a lot and really considering pivoting into cybersecurity (it's always peaked my interest). I would still need to work full time so it might take me 2 terms. What are your thoughts? Were you working when you did this, and do you think it's realistic to finish in 1 term while working full time?

    • @danigan9564
      @danigan9564  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      How fast you finish depends on how much time you allocate to study. Also how many credits you bring into the institution that help you reduce your workload. Since you are working full time . You’ll definitely have to MAKE time. Especially on the days when you just wanna chill after work. Maybe 1-2 hours of study Or go hard on the weekends. It’s gonna suck. But if you can muscle through. I think anywhere from 1-1.5 years is possible. I was not working at all. Doing school full time.

    good video bro, did you utilize what i see some people doing where they use outside websites like sophia to complete classes then transfer the credits into wgu or did you just do everything straight from wgu? just trying to see how people like you did it so i can plan my path early and have the most efficient way. thanks man!

    • @danigan9564

      I didn’t even know about Sophia learning when I started only used credits from my previous college as transfer credit. Total I had only like 4 classes that I skipped. The rest I grinded

      Yo, kiddo.. you should be able to take CC courses now while attending HS or during breaks. Just getting the general requirements out of the way will help, so you can focus on getting through your major. It doesn't hurt to study some code on the side, tho or yeah, get a certificate... but seriously, getting the general requirements out of the way is the best. Some AP courses might qualify too, so check with WGU.
