In what world are Jan, Feb, and March slow for rideshare? Out here in Arizona, those are the 3 busiest months of the entire year. I have more than 100+++ declines every single night, even on Tuesday nights.
When I get off for $34 for driving up to Jacksonville, which is about an hour drive, but a minimum of a 2 hour drive back because there is always always accidents on 95 South. This is a 3 hour trip period so that's 12 to $15 in gas period it's not worth it. If you divide the remainder into an hourly rate. I'm not doing it
This is what Uber does in Lexington Kentucky, going to pick up the customers for 5miles-18miles drive them to 2 miles then you get paid $2,94cents😭😭! This is a real scumming we are facing in Uber in Lexington City. Uber is scumming drivers when they sand you pick up point then hide drop off point and payment😭😭😭😭
I automatically cancel the ride if I show up, and they do not come out within 1 minute. And I do not take rides less than $5, and I rarely ever take those...
I experience the same problem what a joke you make 3.00 they make 6.00 or 7.00 sorry just not worth my time to pay for the trip for them because it's coming out of your pocket

I am just not into driving for free since i do this for a living and pay all the maintenance cost out of my pocket and i have no partner or anyone to lean on to drive for free cuz over time the loss appears up in your maintenance cost the more you drive for less . I also found that in my area, when you pick up cheapo ($2,$3,$4) rides, you are picking up more dangerous, inconsiderate people who never tip and tare up your car on purpose. I can't contribute my time and car for that, so cherry pick for life!
That what I said they are just fooling us.!! Don’t Trust in people everybody is on this world to FF everyone nobody is truthfull this day everything is about money!!! Or what you can get.

Base driver pay should be $6 point blank period just for the convenience of having access to a ride. Idc if a person is going from one end of Walmart to the next. Rideshare is a convenience and it’s not cheap for the operator of the vehicle. Base pay of $6
I will provide you with details Harry. Driving rideshare is not feasible at the rates we are receiving. The 65-35 split on the gross payment is not worth it for the driver.
Uber/Lyft should tell us what we are... Are we INDEPENDENT (that have choice) or STAFF (that have no choice) Because if I am an independent contractor, then I have the right to pick what I want. And UberEat is a LEGALIZED SLAVERY... Imagine doing a 18 mile food delivery for $4, and sadly the customer did not even tip.
All drivers just needs to take a week off at the same time. Except for the ones who are receiving kick backs from rideshare companies, because they need to make videos for rideshare companies.
Something is happening in the bayarea California. Once a driver approaches 200$, rides suddenly out of the blue, and the rides appear on the app, slows way down. I ask around in San jose and San Francisco Airport drivers. They notice the same thing. I'm still able to eek out 250$ in 7 hours. But being slowed down when I approach 200$
I’m not running anything less than a dollar or more per mile. I take 4,5,6 dollar everything deliveries, people, whatever but it’s got to be a dollar a mile or more PERIOD
It is not cherry picking its making good business decisions, we as drivers should never use that term. Uber and Lyft call it that so it sounds like we are doing something wrong. We are independent contractors running our own businesses. No small business survives without making good decisions that result in profits.
As a new Lyft driver, I did the rides they gave me and ended up an hour and a half away from home and got a $3 bonus since it was during the bonus hour. Now I know to set the distance so they won't give me rides like that anymore
That's ridiculous, In not accepting 14 to 20 miles for 4 to 7 dollars. You're not making money at that point, you're losing money if I accepted every trip I'd drive 300+ miles in twelve hours. I accept roughly 25% I cherry pick like crazy and always take home minimum 150 max 350 in 8 to 10 hours, my average gas consumption is 175 miles, $25 Dollars. Is this dude an Uber schill or what saying to accept everything no matter how crappy the offer?
I'm an Uber Driver in Arizona with a consistent 50% acceptance rate. Over 10,000 trips in less than 5 years I average $250 a day working 8 or less hours cherry picking is life. You would be stupid to be a block away a from a surge then take trip 10 miles away with no surge. Also I never do deliveries it's a waste of time
I live in Baltimore City if you don't cherry pick your rides you will find yourself getting killed carjacked you have to be aware of your surroundings every place ain't safe and every place is not profitable to go in our downtown is in such shambles that you can't successfully pick up people and drop them off in a reasonable amount of time you will not make money and I will not drive further for less also there has been a glitch that cancels rides while in process add cherry pick every single ride
How do you cherry pick fast enough when 3 rides show up and you pick one then the app takes forever to match you and by that time someone else took it and they force a ride on you what's the best way to handle that?
Why do I not see how much the fare will be in advance?? All I see is where I'm picking them up at. This results in me driving 18-20 minutes for a $3.50 fare which pisses me off.
Almost every ride they offer is below prop 22 guarantees. Even rides starting next to where you are. That's in San Diego a strong market. If you're relying on prop 22 you are accepting 36 cents a mile and 120% minimum wage and tips. No point to high paying rides relying on prop 22 as they only subsidizes the crappy paying rides. And if you are not relying on prop 22 then every low paying ride is losing.
If you accept every single ride, you’ll be out there for five hours and you’ll make $35 minus your mileage and your gas. You made 10 bucks. You have to cherry pick the old days you didn’t have to but now they’re taking 60% or at least half you should be encouraging people to quit.
They just advertised a incentive which specifically stated do 60 rides for $610 or 100 rides for $1000...the wording was very deceptive and knew it was too good to be true...what it meant was if you do 60 rides you could make that amount.
Sergio more reliable. Harry works for ride share. The drivers who agree with his views are the ones won’t honor driver protest. Drivers who use driver protest to enrich themselves.
It's tough out here like Harry said you have to know what you are doing. But I agree sometimes you can't cherry pick, whatever comes. Still, even in that time you have to be careful, because you could end up wasting time on a $4,$5 trip and end up loosing time and money. I say depends on the time of day, mood, and what may be happening in the area. Is not easy. Is a hustle for real.
No comment is worth anything without telling us if you are refering to online hourly OR booked hourly. If your car is turned off waiting on the side of the road for a ride is that included in your hourly evem though you have no gas or wear on the car ?
I have set my acceptance rate at 20 an hour, and at least a dollar a mile, but I also am able to see $.95 a mile and 18 an hour for when I have to stop cherry picking because I’m not hitting my quota which comes at the end of my shift which varies because I work only when needed. It’s like an extra job now, years ago it was full-time. there are apps out there to help you see exactly what you’re getting and I suggest everybody use it and Cheri pig as much as possible.
There's not a simple answer to this. If demand is low, you might need to take everything. But it also comes down to which platform you are on. Uber is the predominant platform in my area, but they aren't paying, which is unacceptable. If they have the market there is no reason why rides should not be priced correctly. Lyft is paying better but there are fewer available rides. I recommend multi app strategies and of course, know your market and when demand will be high.
Another thing to consider is that there are select drivers that’s partaking bonus quest/challenges. The best strategy is to take those short routes to fufill those bonuses.
Every trip isn't the key imho but accepting mostly the ones that pay about $1 a mile back to back usually work for me. Hate those days I look down to see 140 miles $70 earnings.
I wanted to add for the Houston market. We don't get a dollar a mile. Rides over 5 miles... Are paid at 60-65 cents per miles. The only ones that pay that dollar a mile are the $3 to $5 fares.
Idk how you can be fighting for the drivers, but go then sleep with the same people we're fighting against. Sergio plays both sides. Chris is cool,I never watch the other white guy, but Harry is definitely the Shill for Cooperate. 🤷🏿🤦🏿🤣
Its like a crop of grapes, the winemaker wants the sugar level to be at its best, if they wait to long its not prime, if they pick early its not prime. you strive for the optimum, you are the winemaker. Pick for the best but don't end up with sour grapes. Put parameters on your picking, mine are 6 minutes or less to get to, unless its a surge market and then its a sliding scale, if there is bigger surge near evaluate your odds. I have found that the least I drive to people the more I make, in all cells of the spread sheet!
I'm in a smaller market with top rides now paying 16 to 20. I cannot make a profit on 3 to 6 dollar rides when I may only get 2 rides an hour and pick up is consistently 10 minutes away.
This contest works better with a few factors constant. Have the same amount of gas and online hours. Factor in your driving mileage and the see compare how much you make relative to your expenses. Cherry picker always wins. I believe that if you rush for the average rides you miss out on the good one when they come. I would rather wait.
I dont accept rides that aren't in a surge area. I haven't received many tips in a few weeks now. The downside is that I have to drive in the more dangerous part of town.
Who in Bridgeport CT, do 75 miles trip fo $45.00 or trips where the payment is way less than the mileage. Any trip where the payment is less than the mileage Uber drivers are the losers, but that's what most of the trips are. I do them when l can't do any better. Being as we are paid less or roughly more than 25% for each trip. My approach is the less of some trip l do is less l will be short changed and ripp off. The changes they made only discourages me more and more to do some trips. In comparison to before 2021 even Uber surge prices does measure up to payment of a $1.00 per mile or what it use to be few years ago. After 8 years l am sometimes ashamed of myself of some trips l accept and so upset.
Hybrid is definitely the way to go. Personally I try to constantly mentally filter to position as best I can (and make sure I am not going someplace that will be really crappy), and try to not take anything where they are bending me over a barrel.
What I have experienced is the cheater the ride the more they take , what ever happen to the peak rate during rush hour traffic I thought it was suppose to go to the driver's still get these losey 4 and 5 rides during rush hour.... what a joke
Is anyone else having difficulty on Lyft getting the bonus pay? I reserved a scheduled ride for $11.46 and then drove into a $4 bonus area and they reduce the 11.46 buy the $4 to account for the bonus
Yo! I do have screenshots taken I can show you where some rides are a little bs for the pay, and most regular ride requests that default to the toll road are underpaid. I do believe you can still cherry pick rides to earn a little better vs just taking every ride fed to you, depending on location of course. At least where I live in Denver area. I do put in around 65+ hours/week on average, and earn plenty
Here in San Diego i can make over $30hr and $2000 a week cherry picking. There are still good rides here. I also average around $25 a ride and around $350+ a day.
Do you drive all over the entire county or stick mainly to the city core? I've driven in SD and know others who do as well but they still have to take those $5-$6'ers to earn $2K.
I drive about 65-70 hrs and I'll go anywhere the pay or time and miles are good. Never take $5 or $6 orders unless it takes me to the airport during busy times.
Always cherries. Don't expect anything under $8. $200 in a weekend that Is a joke, I'd quit driving if that was the case. I can get that in 4 hrs. It depends on location. Location is key.
I admit that I cherry pick my rides. It’s not fair to the driver who’s using their own vehicle and gas to pick up a person who’s going less than 7 minutes away for $3.50 when lyft probably charged the customer $9 and Lyft keeps the difference
If you cherry pick, and decline too many rides, the Lyft algorithm will stop sending you trips. You are not officially deactivated. It just stops sending you trip requests. I spent a day, accepting every trip. It was a 10 hour day of nothing but $3 to $5.00 rides. it was my worst day ever! I made less than $100. Now, for every 3 rides, I complete, that pays over $10, I accept one low paying fare, and give the rider 1 star, just to reset the algorithm. It seems to be working better, but pay, now, is so low, the Uber and Lyft drivers are operating at a loss!
I expect atleast a dollar a mile for anything under 10 miles. 10+ its 20$ minimum. Im doing you a favor. Not the other way around. And if you tip after the delivery... well, sucks to be you. We know how that works out.
On UE, literally half the orders they send me would cost me more to deliver than they are paying. Another 30% the profits are so slim that I would net $1-$2 per hour profit. If I took everything I might end up with more total pay at the end of my shift, but I would actually be operating at a net loss. I'm more concerned with how much profit I am turning than how much in total Uber is depositing in my account. If I gross $100 in a shift and my operating expenses are $25, and you've grossed $200 but your operating costs are $175 then I've beat you by $50, and I haven't sent Uber the message that it's ok to ask the uneducated and undereducated to operate at a net loss.
Some of us have reasons for taking every ride. Therefore it's worth it to us. I have a 89% AR and a 1.6% CR. I do this so I can get the perks. Mainly, free college. After 2000 trips, if you're a Diamond Class driver, you get full paid tuition to ASU Online. My wife, and possibly myself, will be taking advantage of that soon. That's worth 10s of thousands of dollars in the end. So while cherry picking seems like it would have some monetary advantages to those that are not interested in the perks, those of us that are planning to take advantage of the larger perks definitely have our reasons. And, honestly, I like the idea of being a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Class driver. I don't think there's anything wrong with being proud of that. Love the show! Have a great day!
At this point in my opinion cherry picking is dead because you'll probably make less money than if you took every single offer back to back to back because of all the downtime
You can only cherry pick when you're in the right place at the right time; ie Airport during big rush days. That said I pick rides that get me into a good flow; living in Florida this isn't too hard. I can't however see Uber/Lyft, etc being profitable for drivers in most states these days, at least year round like Florida, or Las Vegas are.
Please stop calling it 'Cherry Pick" that is uber and Lyth's word to make it sound bad. It's called making a good business decision and we should all be using that term and insist during any media event they call it that too!
This is all seasonal fluctuations, just like every single previous year. Cherry picking is most beneficial, or even critical, during the slower seasons of the year.
I can see the rationale in cherry picking, but sometimes a cheap ride leads you to a big $$$ ride. Also, when you need to get X number of rides, you need to take everything. There's no ease answer.
Well i do cherry pick most of the time but when i need time to make up that 325 hours for me to get that $1365. I have to take the ride and work for 6 hours for $300 a day
I rent a car with Lyft. To keep the rental, you have to complete a minimum of 20 rides a week and the weekly fee (mine is $297) comes out of your earnings first, so I accept all rides Monday through part of Wednesday to get both requirements met, then I cherry pick the remainder of the week unless there's a ride challenge.
@germanandreu1472 but if you don't have a job or a car, this takes care of both. Is it a long-term solution? No. Does it serve an immediate need? Yes, and for now this works...for ME.
I have no idea who this dude is. But him saying driving is an easy job. I thought that too until I did my first day of Uber. I did about 7 hours with no breaks. My shoulders and neck were tense AF. I think people like him is the reason that drivers are paid so low. They think Oh it's such an easy job. The other thing to taking consideration with this job you are having to be on 100%. Most low-pay jobs, It doesn't need your attention 100% of the time. You can be on your phone you can talk to people etc. here you have to be very much "on." I'm in the Houston market and I guess I learned my lesson that making two grand a week for 80 hours just really isnt impossible here.
There should a distinction between what is more important to people.. For example let's say from hour x to z we both have our apps on & after we're done you net $250 & I net $175. Did you make more $? Well, yes, but context should be provided. You drove for 8 ride hrs & I only drove for 4 ride hrs while I sat at home (possibly doing other things, etc). Taking all rides that come to you may result in an overall higher $, however cherrypicking is by far more effecient (also with the added implied theory that if drivers are more selective & efficient, then ultimately Uber must inevitably offer drivers more $). There is no right or wrong here,,,, for me, cherrypicking is absolutely the best way to go. Good luck
Hey did you know Uber Lyft drivers are 1099 contractors? This the reason they don't any medical benefits or retirement plans bc they are not employees. Because of this Uber Lyft charge for every trip half or more than half in fees to drivers for using their platform. So when they choose not to give someone a ride they are in their full right or why else pay Uber or Lyft to get rides if u couldn't choose?
At this Point drivers should be quiting Uber and Lyft cause nothing is gonna change is just gonna keep getting worse now them cutting promotions bonuses and cancellations fees.
Hey man. People like you are making every driver's life more and more difficult. What do you think, for 20 dollars you can drive your own car, get your own insurance, get your own car repaired, 20 dollars, you think that's a lot of money, shame on you, you brag about every trip, but do you think a four dollar trip is worth taking and then you have to wait for the guy, shame on you, you're on youtube saying don't cherry pick everything, whatever you get from Uber, you look like an Uber agent
Additionally, in my market with an acceptance rate below 85% I get no trip info aside from distance to pickup. I can't afford to gamble on the algorithm. I do airport rides only.
I do the same and follow the flight schedule. I'm in a smaller mid-tier market with usually no more than 5 drivers in queue, but a ton of business travelers, and plenty of surges. Passengers aren't drunk or sketchy, tips are pretty much guaranteed, and the trips skew longer and pay well. I live about 5 minutes from the airport, too.
Hi guys may be noob asking this info here but maybe some of you would think like me. Why dose Uber and Lyft just create a membership for Driver and Raiders then have the two come up with the prices for driving you to the destination you need to go. We know thar our great boss Uber and Lyft would mind if we profit all the full ride and tips from the customer. This would make more sense faster pick up for the Rider and driver don't need stay still for so long at Airport and other palace that we can be in danger.
It comes to point that we lose money literally drive 15 miles to pick up and drop off in 3 miles and get paid 4 dollar in Ny Buffalo This driving job is a trash abusive
I’ll say put the hours in, soon or later you’ll know your earning performance. Uber drivers got screwed long time ago ain’t no way we go’n recover from it.
Harry - you need to do this! Get a real feel for the current environment. Sure you can get that lucky break but are few and far between- do it - do it - do it 😃😃😃

How much did they pay you to ease up on the, “cherry picking?”
At least say, “this is a paid ad.” 😂😂😂

It happens everywhere
THIS IS THE WAY
Exactly
That’s called self destruction
$2,$3,$4 trips not worth the time, then they make you wait the 5 minutes …
Agreed if the rider makes me wait longer than the trip duration that's garunteed 1 star rating for the rider.
Exactly:
I automatically cancel the ride if I show up, and they do not come out within 1 minute. And I do not take rides less than $5, and I rarely ever take those...

Absolutely correct
The losers and criminals that can't drive shouldn't be allowed to use it. They need to have a separate score for drivers only seen by other drivers
U can’t do just comfort I have a Toyota Rav 4 eligible for comfort and it’s inside Uber x combined with it. So how exactly are you doing it
They only accept comfort rides or higher... which pays more per mile...
I cherry pick. Will not take a trip less than $7 or multi stop trips.
I follow this 💯
I have a question here.
Harry, he represents Uber/lyft. I don't trust him after interviewing Dara.
That what I said they are just fooling us.!! Don’t Trust in people everybody is on this world to FF everyone nobody is truthfull this day everything is about money!!! Or what you can get.

CHERRY PICK BECAUSE, THESE LOW TRIPS WHEN GAS IS MORE COSTLY THEN THE ACTUAL TRIP IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!
Base driver pay should be $6 point blank period just for the convenience of having access to a ride. Idc if a person is going from one end of Walmart to the next. Rideshare is a convenience and it’s not cheap for the operator of the vehicle. Base pay of $6

They are distributing the money amongst the drivers. Whether you are more skilled or not you are going to make the same.
That is what I noticed at SF.
Switch to another App
@darrenhoefler4447 Really, good job genius. I already do that. Point is uber is slowing people down when at or approaching 200$
@Infoismylife glad I'm not the only that notice

Uber is getting terrible for drivers
Cherry picking doesn’t control earnings, the algorithm does.
Oy de eveels dat algorithms do!
How do you cherry pick fast enough when 3 rides show up and you pick one then the app takes forever to match you and by that time someone else took it and they force a ride on you what's the best way to handle that?
I drive in LA for lyft. i take all rides but I am watchful of day and times. I try to drive “when there is demand” not “when it’s convenient for me”
Harry has lost touch and doesn't deserve the title "The Rideshare Guy".
Why do I not see how much the fare will be in advance?? All I see is where I'm picking them up at. This results in me driving 18-20 minutes for a $3.50 fare which pisses me off.
Just take everything. There's not enough options now to cherry pick especially in nyc

Well said brotha
Cherry pig ? Lol
But what if I don't know my market but know when I'll be high?
Every trip isn't the key imho but accepting mostly the ones that pay about $1 a mile back to back usually work for me. Hate those days I look down to see 140 miles $70 earnings.
I also do a hybrid strategy. Not Cherry picking but definitely selective
I wanted to add for the Houston market. We don't get a dollar a mile. Rides over 5 miles... Are paid at 60-65 cents per miles.
The only ones that pay that dollar a mile are the $3 to $5 fares.
Is this channel sponsored by Uber and lyft?
Yes
That is what I am thinking. They teach us how to work. 😊
yes
Looks like this channel is owned by Uber now😂
Idk how you can be fighting for the drivers, but go then sleep with the same people we're fighting against.
Long pick up and short drop off for $2or $3 you guys what you talking about .this slavery job.
It's not slavery if you can quit!
Its better to make something then sit for a long time bills still need to get paid
Drivers like you are the problem.
Hybrid is definitely the way to go. Personally I try to constantly mentally filter to position as best I can (and make sure I am not going someplace that will be really crappy), and try to not take anything where they are bending me over a barrel.
Can you discuss and breakdown the "Intercity" option in preferences page on the Uber driver app? What is this option?
So you're doing 80 hr/week.
I drive about 65-70 hrs and I'll go anywhere the pay or time and miles are good. Never take $5 or $6 orders unless it takes me to the airport during busy times.
Pretty cool. You're doing exceptionally well. Perhaps the difference is Comfort/XL? I'm on X only.
Are you on UberX?
As I'm watching your video I'm commenting. 100% in Houston there isn't any surge or promotion. It's just a gray map doesn't matter the time.
Always cherries. Don't expect anything under $8. $200 in a weekend that Is a joke, I'd quit driving if that was the case. I can get that in 4 hrs. It depends on location. Location is key.
Do it! Accept all vs Cherry Pick in tiday's market. I wanna see results. Hours/miles the results, too.
It needs to be a mix. Im in the most oversaturated market. So a Hybrid stategy is essential.
How can do uber accept if the more i ccept the more gos to the uber campany .it dosent make sence .
Neither does your question.
0% chance this guy not on uber/lyft payroll
@sergioSMTMC1 who says anybody is miserable?
I think it needs to be 2 parts one during a weekday and one during the weekend. Different scenarios on different days.
At this point in my opinion cherry picking is dead because you'll probably make less money than if you took every single offer back to back to back because of all the downtime
I have been doing a hybrid strategy for months.
Okay… Now tell us your conclusion.
@MeneHuneUSA it's has worked better. Better than sitting and waiting.
I have 97% acceptance rate. At $1.40 per mile, .30 cents per minute I take all rides.
I won't take anything less than $20 anymore, unless it's close by like within 5 mi. Then I'll do $15 but no less. XL
I have had small sub 7dollar rides lead right into bigger rides. I think hybrid cherry picking/accepting all is the move
You guys should do this in mid-april. The sooner the better. So any weekend after the 7th of April?
$ 1,188 A Month😂 rent for a car
I think the right chair guy is a full-time employee of Uber and Lyft and all he does is talk about getting out there to work for the company
I call my strategy "apple picking", because I pick rides that pay a healthy enough rate, not waste time waiting around for the best.
In Phoenix its busy spring training baseball
Doing all the ride
You must be in Portland, Oregon
Cherry Pick! I'm not taking a trip for $2.95,not going to happen
I tend to accept trips $6 and up. Seems to work well so far.
Is the shut down still on for April 1st
It never was.
Yes ride share professor was promoting it
@@chrisd6053 oh nobody really follows him because he's a TLC guy, different industry
It comes to point that we lose money literally drive 15 miles to pick up and drop off in 3 miles and get paid 4 dollar in Ny Buffalo
This driving job is a trash abusive
I’ll say put the hours in, soon or later you’ll know your earning performance. Uber drivers got screwed long time ago ain’t no way we go’n recover from it.
$1/mile minimum. If you're not averaging $10-$20 per ride you're going broke.
I can roll 10 hours straight and not make what I make by going back and forth to the airport
Each market is different. I do better with cherry-picking where I'm at. Also, I dont think any ride for 3 or 4 dollars it worth taking.
With the exception of bonus quests/challenges.
Harry - you need to do this! Get a real feel for the current environment. Sure you can get that lucky break but are few and far between- do it - do it - do it 😃😃😃
I do all ride, I average $25-40 hours or more
