Thanks. In future, all dialogue will be indicated through the AHIT speech bubbles when I can, so that it's easier for people to understand what the characters are saying
When you think about it, Mustache Girl is quite the tragic villain. The mafia kicked her out of her home, she probably lost her family on that day and was now homeless. Her anger against injustice and "bad guys" is justified, but it led her to become the worst of them all.
Exactly! And it's so frustrating to see the game *never expand on this concept beyond the very surface level understanding of "Tragic backstory" and "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"*

Let's just say there's a very good reason why Hat Kid is wildly out of character in this

She seems to be looking out only for herself and no one else given that she doesn't really want to get involved in something like this that she could play a key role in
It's a fascinating piece of character writing, I just wish they used this for either a character who had to overcome that as a character flaw or a game where that was tied to the main theme
Instead, AHIT's final story configuration is a bizarre, jumbled mess of "Power corrupts", "The world is cruel, suck it up" and "Sometimes your self interests are more important than the world around you" and I don't know which one to focus on
Bright Torch Productions actually handled this really well by giving Hat Kid and Mustache Girl a conclusion at the end, where they calmly talk things out at the end of everything, but they also had to alter Hat Kid's character to make her motivations both clearer and more understandable
I planned on including something like what they did but ultimately scrapped it, as I wasn't satisfied with what I was writing
- Fannon HatKid: "These criminals *can* be redeamed. Also, don't mess with the fabric of spacetime!"
- Cannon HatKid:
"Man, I just want to go home. Also, don't touch my stuff!"
Ah, yeah, had to take a lot of creative liberties when it came to Hat Kid's character
Issue with Canon Hat Kid is that she's not nearly as like- Interesting to write about to me, like it's so much better when the two characters are contrasting than when one has no incentive to stop the other aside from "Get the macguffin"
If I wrote the lines around the idea of Hat Kid just wanting to go home and have her stuff not taken, they wouldn't work nearly as well. Admittedly though, I could have done without Hat Kid's part. I'll rectify that if I ever feel like redoing this and might either give Hat Kid her own song or give her an alternate, B-Side variation of Bad Guys

As for the voice acting and sound quality:
1)This is a notoriously difficult song to sing to.
2) It sounds like it was made by children; just like the source-meterial.
3) I interprate the cracks in Mustache-Girl's voice as her crying from all the stress and trama she's experienced.
Hat Kid was recast, partially due to Chara's lack of experience doing voice work and her mic quality. Her new VA, Allevant, features in Clock Towers Beneath The Sea, alongside Chara @@agsilverradio2225

I would recommend checking out their Songtober variation of You Are All Bad Guys though! It's very good and does Mustache Girl way more *justice* than I did

I covered this in a community post, but some of the older AHIT Lyrical Rift (then-called AHIT Boss Package) songs have been shifted to a secondary playlist. This is bc I kinda wanted to keep them around, but I also wanted there to be a distinction between the final-final tracks and the older tracks that were replaced
Think of it as sort of a "Beta" for Lyrical Rift before the finalised castings and such
