Own many Sigs, Kimbers, and Smith and Wessons and just bought a Canik Mete and I am so glad I did. Very accurate, easy to carry, great capacity, and easy to maintain. 500 rounds with no jams nor misfires. Canik is going to be my choice moving forward and they cost significantly less than the other brands I generally buy.

I carry the Canik Elite SC, which is the big brother to the MC9, and I absolutely love how controllable it is, due to weight and barrel length. Id recommend Canik to any responsible carrier.

I went with the MC9 kit for 419.00. It looks the same as yours and came with a 12 and 15 round mag and a nice holster which can be made for inside or outside the waist carry. I was pleasantly surprised at how really good this gun is. I added Tritium night sights to mine as it is my carry gun and my night time on the stand next to me gun. I like the ease of removing the slider for maintenance. Canik has a number of parts and accessories on it's website to purchase which is where I got the night sites. I am totally satisfied with this choice.

@@marvnation924I actually tested the MC9 vs Shield Plus by renting them at the range. Shield Plus had a little more snap, I liked the trigger in the Canik more. Ultimately the plethora of issues with the MC9 returning to battery and how much the frame flexed in my hand convinced me to go with the Shield Plus.
Unfortunately after buying the Shield Plus, it tried to shake the locking block pin out after 100 rounds. Smith wanted it back for warranty, I have no idea what they did, but when I got it back I started having failures to feed. So I would recommend the MC9 instead, or get a Glock 48 (or a 43x if you want to stay short) like I did. It carries well, shoots straight, and runs perfectly.

Interestingly I am 6'4 with long fingers but the P365 fits my hands great for such a small gun. I don't know what witchcraft SIG used, but P365 shoots incredibly accurately and doesn't recoil as much as I was expecting. I own multiple handguns, most of which are full size and wasn't expecting to shoot so good with a micro compact. I live in Florida and wanted something that I can easily conceal under the t-shirt so I went with standard P365. Anything bigger that that wouldn't do the job for me. If I had to buy a concealed gun now I would go again with the P365.

I think for those who want night sights, the P365 is a no brainer.
If you're a trigger snob, the MC9 is a no brainer.
At the end of the day, I don't have to work near as hard with the MC9 for tight groups, while the P365 requires just a tiny bit more concentration.

Everyone should be a trigger snob. A bad trigger can make a bad shooter even worse. A great trigger, which every Canik has from the factory, won't make a bad shooter better, but it will definitely not make them worse. I like both guns. As a certified Sig Armorer, I can make a Sig trigger much better. The Canik, I don't have to touch. Out of the box, the Canik walks circles around the 365.

  • @timconrad2585
    @timconrad2585 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Something rarely mentioned when reviewing the sig is that the grip length can be different by changing the mag. I have an xl with a standard 365 grip and at work I use the 10 round mag because it is super concealable. But in jeans and a t shirt I wear the 12 round. If I have a hoodie I can throw in the 17 round mag. I like the option of having a super small gun or a 17 round gun and it be the same exact gun. I don't have to have different guns that I have to train with depending on the setting. I have one gun that can be as small or as big as I want and all it takes is putting in the appropriate magazine. Having one gun that could fit any concealed carry situation was important for me.

I now own both the Canik MC9 and the Sig P365. I've owned the P365 for over a year and it is my main carry gun. I think the 365 with a 12 round mag is the perfect size for me. Now that I've had the MC9 for a month or so and have run several boxes of ammo through it, I agree that it is easier to shoot and easier to hit with. I need to put more rounds through the MC9 before I depend on it but I hope it checks out and if so, I will be adding it to my everyday carry. I have put in a lot of practice with the P365 and it took me longer than I had hoped to become proficient with it. That doesn't detract from the pistol, I think it is a wonderful sidearm. But, for a concealed carry, I love my XL, and what I love most about it is that it fits my hand perfectly, like a custom made gun for my hand. That being said, I’m not a real big guy (5’10 180) and my hands aren’t huge. I don’t know much about Canik but it looks like Sig Sauer may finally have some real competition! As far as I’m concerned, Sig makes the finest weapons in the world, but I might have to check into getting a Canik or two. On another note, thank you! If a 9mm goes through your heart, game over. If a whatever caliber you think is better goes through your heart, are you more dead?
If either round goes through your lungs(which is more the case) you will have a hole in your lungs.
Do you think trauma surgeons can tell the difference between 9/40/10/357 wounds? They can’t and it doesn’t matter. We are not gel blocks.

@@HWG-wm8ld no, never said bigger was better, simply expressing my preference for something with more energy than 9mm (IE 40, 357, 45, yes 44 mag) I don’t want to get shot with a pellet gun lol, but if I’m in a situation I want some serious stopping power on my side. That being said, 9mm is a good option considering gun size, conceal ability, mag capacity, etc. shot placement is key. If I have all my guns laid out in front of me in my living room though, & someone breaks in my house, I’m not grabbing my 9. Or my 380, which I have due to the tiny size of the gun (LCP). I’ll likely grab my favorite gun- my P226 in 357 Sig. You can have a BB gun if you want, but it’s really okay for us all to have different opinions lol.

Grabbing a pistol over a rifle shows your ignorance. No such thing as stopping power. Dudes get hit with 300wm and keep running. You either hit something that matters or they keep shooting back. Definitely gonna miss a month after the pain kicks in.
The 226 was made for the military and police needs, hence amateurs with poor gun skills. Get some real education and experience.

Dude- calm down- seriously WTF? Why you trying to start an argument over my preference for handguns? Why would you even care about my opinion? And why would you think I care about yours? 🤣 I’m an idiot because I would choose a handgun over a rifle???🤣🤣 that doesn’t even make sense as it’s completely irreverent to the conversation- where is this coming from? This video (and my opinion) aren’t even talking about rifles! We are talking about handguns. Your assumption that I have no education or experience is simply you getting defensive about something you know nothing about. In fact I’m very well educated on the subject of ballistics, and have 30 years experience in the business. So, let me rephrase my comment so you may understand it better… take rifles, hand grenades, rocket launchers, F22 Raptors, & even shotguns out of the equation- if I’m sitting in my living room and I have 2 guns within reach, that both happen to be handguns, one is chambered in 9mm & the other in 357Sig, & someone breaks into my house, I’m grabbing the 357 because it is (ballistically proven to be) a more powerful round. It’s as simple as that- that’s all I’m saying. That being said, for concealed carry, I favor my P365 because it’s smaller, lighter, & more concealable, & 9mm is a decent round. Not my favorite, but decent. There are guns, handguns & rifles alike, chambered in many different calibers because none of them are a “one size fits all solution”, and they all have strengths & weaknesses, pros & cons. Even more to the point, people, like you & me, have differing opinions on their preference of firearms and guess what- that’s okay! You carry what you want & I’ll carry what I want, there’s really no need to go around trying to start an argument because someone expressed an opinion that’s different than yours. The whole idea of this video, and thousands more like it, is to get solid information out there & help folks understand the differences & limitations of guns. And to help them make decisions on what is right for them. It’s supposed to be fun & informative & allow people, through the use of the comments section to ask questions, express opinions, share experiences etc. It’s arrogant, obnoxious people like you with a know it all attitude that ruin it for the rest of us. Feel free to express your opinion, and by all means, help educate others in the safe & proper use of firearms, but seriously, there’s no need to be confrontational and try to argue with people over their personal preferences. If you would like to educate yourself more on the subject of ballistic science, the Oehler Research model 35P is the very best ballistic chronograph on the market, but we do offer less expensive models that are very good too. Have a good day, & please note that I have much more important things to do than further this futile conversation, so feel free to express your opinions on guns, ammo, anything you like, but if you are just looking for someone to insult & argue with, keep looking because I’m not wasting any more of my time-

I personally went with the MC9 due to ergonomics and the trigger. I went to a handful of different LGS and held all the P365 variants, HC pro and MC9 multiple times to really see which one I liked more. I have no real complaints about the MC9 besides wishing the grip texture carried all the way up. I’m 1700 rounds in on it and have only had one failure which was a light primer strike, so could’ve been ammo related and not even the fun.
I still find myself wanting the HC pro though hahaha so I have a feeling it’ll make its way into the safe soon 🤙🏼😁

I keep hearing this and its worrisome.....I was psyched about this gun and wanted to purchase but stayed away because I wanted something out of the box.
I have a friend who is a gunsmith that works at a shop he told me this is what he has done to his:
-Recoil spring issue is a stock spring that overlaps itself, replace it.
      - Magazine release finishing issue where excess plastic snags where the magazine locks in and needs to be de-burred. (can cause feeding issues or magazines that don't drop on release)
-Polishing the ramp and the circumference of the feeding chamber will de-burr them
-Battery timing issues are from not de-burring the frame slides, polish/remove burrs.....
My own conclusion after he told me this and his is that they do not consistently sand/polish finish the burrs off the gun after the cuts in production (come on QC)....there maybe be better copies of the gun out there but I've heard a lot about these problems.

MC9 shoots amazingly well for the size... it is very comparable to the M&P shield if not identical in size. Return to dot with a 507k is easy and quick. It is my pick. Only wish more companies made light bearing holsters for it.

You can’t just point your gun at someone. They can see you but you can’t see them? By the time you identify the guy coming at you with a weapon, game over. Hand held light for concealed carry. I know it’s a cool factor for you guys that have ever even been in a fist fight. All good bud, carry a light.

I can't shoot the little guns very well, they just don't fit my hands. I've handled the max9, shield plus, hellcat and 365 and ended up just going the cheap route to see if I could learn to shoot alright with it. I've never owned or shot caniks before but after the great reviews the mc9 got and handling one with the large backstraps I said shut up and take my money. Couldn't be happier either. After putting it through its paces it easily found its way into my edc. I've lost track but I'm getting close to 1000 rounds through it and I've only had a couple ftf and that was with the 18rd full size mag. Flawless performance with the mc9 mags. Awesome gun and I'm pretty damn accurate with it, hopefully it keeps it up! Thanks for everything you do, your reviews are invaluable!

Crazy how Canik is now competing with sig - 2 years ago it wasn't even a thought. That said, I've been buying all the cheap Tukish guns I can find, and most of them are extraordinary. The RIA TM22 and Ermox X Fire are formidable examples.

Canik beats them across the board (striker fired vs striker fired). I was a fan of SIGs until I had the 365 and 2 320s (XCompact, X5 Legion). It was very frustrating to have to put several more hundred dollars into each one of them to make them acceptable sidearms. Meanwhile, all 3 Caniks (TP9SFX, MC9, Rival) consistently outperformed them across the board. I was relieved when i was able to sell the Legion and 365 w/o losing much money. I only kept the XCompact to forego a huge loss.

People like guns the same way they do cars. You got people who are brand loyal, and then you have those who prefer a brand but will venture to another brand if they have something more appealing than what their preferred brand has.

Both the Canik and the Sig are "micro-9's" as opposed to the "sub-compact" range of handguns which include the PPQ SC, Glock 26, etc. They're both significantly lighter/thinner than the PPQ SC.
