    Sold my 365 that I carried for the longest time and picked up a Shield Plus bug out bundle for $540 altogether including shipping and transfer fee. 5 mags, night sights and optics ready. I don’t regret my decision at all

    I’m getting the shield plus for the value pack at my local gun shop. $530 comes with interchangeable holster 1 10rd mag and 4 13rd mags with a first aid kit and zip up bag and lockable case. Can’t beat it for this bundles overall value.

      That's a smokin' deal dude. How does it shoot? I'm planning on heading to the local outdoor store/shooting range provided they carry some of these newer micro compact pistols. I love the Smith but I also like the Sig since it's smaller and would hide better on my slimmer frame

      Never heard of an issue with the hellcat; it's also smaller, holds same/ more ammo, better sights, mounting system. Also, the Hellcat was the number 1 selling micro of 2020/2021. I don't find it any snappier than the 365 or the shield plus. Could just be the way it fits my hands; it's pretty subjective. I like the 365 and the plus, I just feel the hellcat is a step above both. Especially if you put the apex trigger in it.

      I have a p365xl and I love it. It shoots great and feels great but if you are planning on concealed carrying every day I'd say get the regular 365 or the shield or a similar gun. The Kimber R7 Mako is also a great gun as well as the Ruger Max-9 and Mossberg MC2sc or Canik Tp9 sfx, all great guns that are considered top of their class. To me the 365xl is just about big to concealed carry comfortably. I have the Ruger LCP Max 380 and I love it, it's so small it makes the 365 looks big and still has 12 rnds of 380.

    365 owner here, had mine for a while. Due to the shape, I find it to be the most concealable ccw I've ever tried. I have the standard model, and I use the flush mag as well as 12 round mags. With the 12 round mag, the grip is great and easier to handle with the 12 rounder and it's still extremely concealable. At night it gets the 15 round mag for nightstand duty. I haven't tried the Shield Plus yet, but have certainly tried the original Shield. I never got along with the grip on the Shield, it just felt awkward and I never felt comfortable with it. The 365 just melts into my palm. You seriously can't go wrong with either though, these are both fantastic. ****EDIT as today I bought an optics ready shield plus. After testing it out, I really liked it, and my current 365 does not have an optics plate. Rather than buying the 365 all over again just to get an optics slide, I decided to grab the shield for a lot less money. The Shield is getting a Holosun 407k GR mounted today. I'll be carrying it with the 13 round mag, and the p365 will be used for more deep conceal with the 10 round flush. As I said in my original statement, you can't go wrong with either.

It came down to both the P365 XL and the Shield Plus for the finals. On the last range trip I spent over an hour testing them both side by side shooting many rounds. While I really liked both of them, I ended up purchasing the Shield Plus for all the reasons you talk about in this video. I would shoot both at a range were you can rent or borrow. You will find a wide range of difference in what you can grip well, shoot well and which you are more prone to creating shooter induced malfunctions.
      Me - .45 Shield
      Friend - 9mm Shield Plus
      Wife - Springfield Hellcat
      Twin Boys - 9mm Shield 1.0 (Apex Trigger and Stippling)
      Daughter - P365
      I've been carrying a Shield Plus more lately but still feel more confident with the. 45. I have big mitts and the extra grip frame length front to rear (.45) really helps but the slight extra width on the Plus does make it roomier than the standard 9mm. The P365 is extremely cramped for me and I'm not at all confident it wouldn't lead to a poor grip and user induced malfunctions under stress. Yet I can handle an LCP .380 with zero issue, go figure.

The rest of the time it will be a compact semi auto of revolver. I find that the savings in weight isn't enough to give up the feel of a heavier gun...the are smoother shooting and are back on target faster. The gun I choose will depend on where I am going and what I am doing.

    Great review Chris. I have large hands. I own the sig p365 & the p365xl. I loved shooting the M&P shield plus. It is an excellent shooting firearm . It mitigates recoil well. One of the difference’s that sold me on the sig was the larger trigger guard. Which allowed me to shoot with gloves on. The other factor were the sig sights right out of the box. There was no extra cost as I was rhyming to stay within a budget. I also think a closer comparison would be the 365xl & the M&P shield plus. I was undecided for almost a year as to which firearm to purchase for concealed carry. Your thoughts & analysis on the sig p365xl & M&P shield plus will absolutely help someone make their decision much easier.

    Excellent video guys!!! Both are solid weapons with the biggest difference being in size. I don't do the appendix carry and have larger hands so the Shield Lus is my choice...also 13+1 further seals the deal. But my smaller "better half" would either go with the P365 or my original shield due to hand size...probably the Shield due to better recoil control. Even though I have large hands I'm really happy with the P365. It's so comfortable to carry appendix style inside the waistband and I love the night sights that it comes with. I had the original Shield and bought TruGlow TFX Pro sights and installed Apex trigger parts to get it to be acceptable. While the trigger may be better now I would still have to spend a couple hundred dollars for night sights and their installation. So that makes the Sig a better value. BTW. All the controls being the same and being able to use the holsters I already had was a huge plus. The original shield trigger never bothered me like it did most people. Perfect video to start off the weekend. I'll personally go with the Shield Plus. The Shield Plus' ergonomics fit my hands better (P365's grip is way too small from the front to back of the grip), has a better trigger, better grip texture, fits most of my original Shield's accessories, and has less felt recoil for these snappy little pistols. I do recommend spending the extra $25-50 for the Optics Ready version even if you don't plan on using a red dot because that one comes with night sights. You also don't have to remove your rear sights and severely limit your optics options with a RomeoZero if you want to cowitness.
    The P365 does come with better sights by default, is smaller, comes with a case, and has the removable FCU modularity going on.

      Wilson Combat grip module will fix the gripe with the grip. Also takes a minute to swap the grip module to longer XL/X grip module

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xtreme4stringbass read what I said again. You're limited to the RomeoZero if you want to cowitness since the ones Sig sells have the rear sights built into them when you have to remove the rear sights to mount an optic on the P365x/xl. The different grip module is great but the size is still too small for me even with hogue grips. I heard the Wilson Combat grip module provides more bulk to fill out the hands better, but it doesn't really change the footprint of the grip as much lengthwise from front to back to fill out my hands more. The straight x trigger feels like it's more of a shape change since it still feels squishy to me before the trigger breaks (at least that's how it feels on the P365xl). I'd rather get an ArmoryCraft trigger and install that instead.

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ph00ny1 I understand that but from what I can see the Wilson Combat grip module adds more size to the width of the grip than lengthwise from the front to back of it which is what I prefer instead for my larger hands. Even with the x/xl grip module that's almost the size of the Shield Plus' grip with the flush fit mag. The smaller size could be a benefit to others (more rounds in a more efficient design) but I can't really get as great of a grip purchase/full grip compared to the Shield Plus with its extended mag. That's just me though. If the P365 works for you then that's amazing.

    • @ph00ny1
      @ph00ny1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JacksonWalter735 I just compared the two and WC grip module is wider and longer front to back. As for cowitnessing sights to optics, RomeoZeros aren't the only ones with rear notches and newer variants are all coming out with detached optics plate from the rear sight. If you're happy with the shields plus that's cool but just putting out the right information. Are you sure the shield plus grip with flush fit mag is same or longer than the XL/X grip? I was looking at the 365 XL with the included red dot against the Shield 9 Plus Performance Center 4" with the red dot. Based on overall size and feel, I went with the Shield. The only issue I have with the Shield is the lack of availability of additional magazines. My issue with Sig is the price they charge for their magazines. All in All, it could be worse. :) Both you and your wife are good shooters. Do you both compete in USPSA or IDPA??

      Damn. I just commented how S&W should come out with a longer barrel Shield Plus. I'll have to go look at the Performance Center 4" version. Thanks.

      I know I had issues getting magazines for the Shield Plus to begin with but recently just called S&W and was able to put in an order on the phone for more magazines

      Totally agree! Too many of the former reviewers mistakenly feel they know all the answers to every issue on the planet and lecture everyone on everything, and their hypocrisy and for-profit patriotism makes me vomit. Add to that the lack of integrity and getting paid by the manufacturers and Leviathan of their "reviews" (see Mrgunsnshill and MAC) and I'm down to 6 subscriptions on TH-cam.

      @@DA-rm5bh I've unsubscribed from many of those guys when their reviews turned into commercials.

      Democrats always hate hearing about politics when it effects REALITY. Y'all just keep voting like idiots. 🤣
