I agree. Just has to be done right regardless. The last 2 iterations were not done right. Single player co op is always great, can’t really miss on those two. They just don’t last long in any genre or game of this matter.
How do you improve or make PvP better. They obviously think if rumors are true 1st person will. Imo, it doesn’t matter if the gameplay loop isn’t there. They should learn from PUBG. Simple yet great whether in FPP or TPP. No drones, marking etc. Simple tactics and great maps. Is all GR PvP needs.

I've laid out the overlooked reality of the original GR and RB6 games and how they provided a true tactical simulation that needed today's technology to make it next level. I've played all the GR games and love them all, but there is a MASSIVE difference between the original GR and the causal GR (Breakpoint, Wildlands, Future Soldier, etc.). The current versions are perfectly suited for consoles and works on PC. However, a tactical sim is perfectly suited for PC and that is what we need for the next GR game. They should make 2 versions of the next GR game, one for PC that is more of a tactical simulation based around complex missions and the other for consoles (and PC release as well) which is a bit more of a arcade style with 3rd person and is open world.
It is beyond the 1st or 3rd person perspective and that is what is being ignored in this discussion. The original GR was a far deeper experience which is sorely missed in today's tactical games. They can either make 2 versions of the game for PC and console, or make one game that offers OTS (Over the shoulder) view as a compromise.

Preciate all you do bro. I don’t know why they would deliberately alienate the fans that have supported this game for so many years. Making the game switch between 3rd and 1st is clearly the route to take giving the best of both worlds. I’d hate to not be able to buy it if it’s only 1st but I’m more than prepared to.

  • @AndrewJamesStringer
    @AndrewJamesStringer 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +42

Spot on brother! This video is perfect, I hope the devs watch this and understand what the us, the fans, want. You are totally right about the squad management in Ghost Recon 1, like if we want anything from that game, it's that, and being able to switch to different squad mates, all those mechanics were clutch. Going back to a reticle sight?! Lol naw, pass, but everything else about Ghost Recon 1 is what made me fall in love with the franchise back in 2001.
If they can take the squad management and player change ability from 1, the life from Wildlands (human and animal), customizations from Wildlands, game mechanics like conquest in breakpoint, upgrade the graphics, allow us to do both 1st and 3rd person, give us 6 squad mates so we can do 2 groups of 3 or 3 groups of 2 like we could in Ghost Recon 1.
I was really hoping we would be able to do that in Wildlands, and was really disappointed when we only had 3 squad mates, and even more pissed when we had zero in breakpoint lol. 6 man teams were truly the best, split off into groups of 2, and completely surround an enemy, attacking a base from all sides. We could move our squad mates in Wildlands and Breakpoint, but it was just never enough. I wanted them to be able to hold different positions, not just tag along by themselves, while I'm all by myself. My opinion they GOTTA bring back the 6 man squad to enhance the immersion, and expand on the "tackle the mission how you want" that they touted in Wildlands.
They will have a perfect game if the bring back some of those core elements, while holding onto the great things they've done. Breakpoint they got rid of the life. It was a locked down island with a bunch of lame scientists. Bolivia felt REAL, they have to bring that back. I loved the story of Breakpoint, just wish they had executed it a little better. I even liked the crafting a little bit, gear score was obviously garbage, but it was a REALLY good game once they fixed all the issues.
I know this rant was a little all over the place lol I am so passionate about this franchise, I really just want Over to be perfect. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up too much though.

I need the ability to put any type of attachment on any gun. To decide where I put my laser/flashlight or where my forefrip sits on my weapon and any scope. I should be able to decide how far back I want the scope/ red dot on the guns as well. No more silly airsoft gear in their games (cough cough Breakpoint cough cough) they have the money to get real equipment and put that in their games for customization. Also if they make you keep the tac belt on the character at least let us customize the gear on that as well make everything have the ability to be customized. Different holsters and pouches too would be cool.

Great breakdown. GR is a primarily TPS franchise at this point. To say going back to FPS is good because it's going back to roots is just nonsense. Not saying the new GR will necessarily be bad if it turns out to be FPS, just debunking the so call "roots" of the franchise.
Also spot on about why 1st person mods of GRW and GRBP are good. Those two games being made in 3rd makes 1st person mods look so special.
Personally I don't hate FPS, it's just that because most everything else is FPS, it really sucks to lose a TPS alternative in the military shooter genre. The canceled Frontline and the FPS mod prove it's not that hard to make a 1st person option in a 3rd person game, while the opposite isn't true.

    • @twentytwo138
      @twentytwo138 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Naah let's not go that route please, Helldivers is like Warframe or Avengers. The only thing similar between Ghost Recon and Helldivers is the animation, which is exactly the same as Breakpoint, it's almost like they took the same files. But overall it's not even a remotely close game, besides being a 3rd person shooter.
They need to look at older Ghost Recon games first, especially Future Soldier and Wildlands. But also Splinter Cell (Chaos Theory and Blacklist), Metal Gear Solid (Snake Eater and Phantom Pain), Escape From Tarkov, Arma 3.. Actually if we could have Wildlands with MGSV:PP quality, that would be great.
Also they need to look at Red Dead Redemption 2, Death Stranding, God Of War, Control, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn etc. to see what a proper AAA game looks like, because it seems like they forgot they're supposed to be professional devs who make games worth 60€, and not indie devs who release Alpha/Beta/Early Access crap. Breakpoint truly feels like an indie game made on low budget, and that's what's killing the franchise. Even after all those updates it still looks like an indie early access game.

Thank you for addressing and explaining the "fps vs 3rd person" argument. People seem to forget ghost recon 2 was the one that made the switch to 3rd person and that one was much better received. You could argue the pc and ps version of graw went back to fps but those versions also did not do as well as the xbox 360 which was 3rd person version. Which debunks the whole "people want first person back" argument. What we really want is the gritty tactical mil sim aspect. Idgaf what perspective it is. I would prefer 3rd, but it is what it is. Maybe do what R6 vegas did. Fps with a 3rd person cover system as an option, maybe? Idk

But I do feel that they can really do something cool with immersion in first person. I would love if they continued the third person perspective because of the customization but I'm not mad at it being first person IF they make a good Ghost Recon game. The game series needs to be a 3rd person shooter. The toggleable FPS mechanic when ADSing from Breakpoint was cool and didn't hurt the game.
Ubisoft NEEDS to stop chasing trends and stick to what makes the Ghost Recon unique from the other games in the shooter market, in which it is the only "mainstream" 3rd person shooter on the market. Just combine the best aspects of Wildlands and Breakpoint, with no BS corporate decisions, and the game will sell.

If Rockstar could find value in having both in GTA, then Ubisoft shouldn't need to strech a single braincell to come to the same conclusion. It’s a big reason I play the series at all not to mention replaying them. I think again just one guy talking here there’s nothing to fix in the modalities of play.

For me as a PC player I can see where the "Make it like the first ones" comes from but I agree, the biggest differentiator with the original GR games (and the original R6 games) was the ability to control your teammates, the tactical planning, the more thoughtful pace to the games. That was always the big difference between the Tom Clancy games and the CoD/Medal of Honor crowd, not whether or not it's 1st or 3rd person.

I’ve never played a game that has both 1st and 3rd options available that didn’t treat one of them as an after thought.
I do agree that having both (properly implemented) would be great. And I’m sure at some point in the future of video games, a company will finally do it correctly. But if you ask me, it won’t be Ubisoft, and it won’t be the next Ghost Recon.
I also agree with you that I would love the return of a military style game. I want a team based game. A game that I can properly issue commands to AI teammate and for them to act compatently. I want to be able to stack up and clear rooms, to issue and perform simple flanking maneuvers with the ease of a button press or context menu. I want to feel as though both I, and my team, are elite operators. I never felt that way in Wildlands. (Never even bothered playing Breakpoint)
As someone who has been in the military for 17 years, it annoys me that I can’t pull off these simple tasks with my Ghosts.
Additionally, I’d like a campaign where there is a large scale conflict going on. I want to be doing special forces missions amongst the fighting. I want to see bombs going off in the background from dropped aerial payloads. I want to see fighting in the streets by normal GI’s. I want to avoid or help these situations as I see fit best to fulfill my mission.
What I don’t want is to feel more like a thug with three friends wandering around huge area of land and killing other thugs. I don’t want to have any futuristic nonsense like turning invisible or have robots all over the place. Ya know what? I would actually love a game set in the Cold War. I think as per the lord the Ghosts were formed in 2008? I may be wrong with that…

3rd person is the way to go! We already have a ton of FPS games, and if Ubi changes Ghost Recon to that, it will just be another run of the mill FPS game that doesn't really differentiate itself from the competition! Being in 3rd person isn't what hurt the initial launch of Breakpoint! What hurt Breakpoint was they tried to make it a loot box game with RPG gear scores, and they went away from the cartel story that everyone wanted to continue with Wildlands and replaced it with generic soldiers on a fictitious Island trying to stop Skynet reject drones. As the games life cycle progressed and they started listening to what the fans wanted the game drastically changed and morphed into a decent tac shooter with some of the best 3rd person animations out. All Ubisoft has to do is take what they learned from the reception of Operation Motherland and the positive praise of Wildlands and build on it!

Everyone absolutely shit on Breakpoint and complained how bad it was... understandably. Ubisoft cleaned house and are trying something new, and are trying to appeal to the ready or not style of hardcore tactical shooters(which I and hundreds of others left Breakpoint for) and everyone loses their minds. Ready or Not, made by a small group of people has sold 4.9 million copies... that's half of wildlands, without the powerhouse publisher. Breakpoint had ten times less revenue than wildlands. I think its safe to say that the tactical shooter community, wants a Ready or Not, Gray Zone, Arma type shooter. I love Ready or Not, and the cover system is up to me. The option to lean around walls and heavy lean are your cover system, the system is you. I play on controller by the way. I don't think its a bad idea to have both options, but when it comes to multiplayer, it cant be. Third person adds a peak advantage over first person, and that's why the more tactical guys play first person royals. What irritates me the most is everyone wanted breakpoint to be different than what it was, and now they're making something different, and everyone is already bitching. These devs can't win man.

I feel Ubisoft is a marketing driven game company, the dev might not be as important in the decision making process as we hoping to be.
The decision making behind using FPV over TPV might be both ridiculous and simple. 1, there’s a lot of similar themed games who are successful in the market are FPV (it’s a safe card) 2, BP and frontline wasn’t received well (so management felt something needs to be changed), 3, the company has a lot experience making successful FPS (R6S,FC)
And they always want to expand their player base, Third person -PVE-tactical shooter games is a super niche/small market (GR only)
How small? small enough for them to ignore voice from their fan base until the sales is fucked.

Honestly I don't mind First Person Shooters but Ubisoft is again chasing a fad because they see how well games like call of duty and Battlefield etc. are doing. The reason why those games are so popular is because they have always been FPS, if Ghost Recon Over doesn't have an option to play in Third Person and being able to switch between Third and First person then it's a deal breaker for me, the reason ghost recon is popular is because it's built on being a third person shooter, it's what makes it original. If ubisoft is trying to make this game like call of duty or Battlefield trust me it's going to be another flop because they are chasing fads again like with breakpoint being a looter shooter and Live service, they also had to cancel Frontline because we don't want a GR battle Royale, we already have fortnite filling that role. Lastly, Ubisoft needs to stick to what makes it's games unique and original, not trying to copy other games and trying to chase fads.

Ok, after watching the video again, I want to say that I believe most of us thinking of the new GR game in 1st person would be from the perspective of current FPS games where you would see the weapon, player arms, and if you look down, you would see your plate carrier and part of your feet. It wouldn't be the original GR 1st person perspective where none of those things exist and I don't think anyone are saying that when we say that we prefer the new game to be like the original. Now, I will say that playing the 1st person mod for Wildlands was amazing because it truly fit the environment. The map of Bolivia is one of the (if not the) best maps that I've ever played for an open world game and shooter. If they had designed Wildlands as a FPS it would have been truly amazing, especially if they included OTS view as an option.
I had a blast playing it in 3rd person as well, but that 1st person perspective felt so right and it would have been even more amazing if it were designed to be played that way.

I never played it in first person. I was a die hard SOCOM fan. I played GR as a TPS. I only played GR because it was in 3rd person.
I know I stated I don’t like the change in a previous video, however. If single player and co-op is in 3rd person I’ll be extremely happy and if PvP is in 1st person I’ll try it out. Not happy with it but I’ll try.
Does this mean there will not be drones marking, hold my hand kills in PvP because for what it seems, they added all the marking and spotting by drones because it was in 3rd person(I could be wrong just what I feel) BUT I rather it be 3rd person with out all the hold my hand kills and drone marking which is not needed features(now I think they will eliminate all that stuff if it’s in 1st person).
As with the option of choosing either or, maybe:
Cover system has to go imo. I really dislike restricting animations gameplay in PvP. Add a lean, left and right hand grenade toss.
PvP is going to keep the game alive. Restricted animations, marking and spotting, drones killed GR and its replay ability, imo.
I want a gritty, almost brutal, hard core PvP GR! Out the gate, no messing with settings to have a hard core match. Let those that can’t handle PvP play coop or single player. I want a competitive GR. Could not have that with last 2 iterations.
Same beautiful game, amazing customization, just hard core elements in PvP. Be free in SP and CoOp, make players work in PvP!

Me personally I would like first person but I do agree that it should be a option to switch from first to third person, like I wish breakpoint had that as a option especially on console cause on computer there's a mod that gives you first person in the game, like for the point of the camera first or third person they just need to make the takedowns work for both first and third, but again it should be able to switch from first to third or third to first cause everyone has a different play style like for me I person prefer first person in video games that deals with shooting, or military, now if it's a mmno rpg game I'll be more prone to have the camera for 3rd person. And speaking of rpg games when are we going get a one that doesn't need souls I hate soul games we need a game that's has the fighting combat of the Witcher 3 , level up from black desert and the stats from fallout and a way of choosing passive perks like fallout 4 where you level perks up and but there passive and you can use all the perks we want. Anywho that's what I think about 1st and 3rd person and having a great rpg game

100% agree with what you’re saying. Plus, for Ubisoft to include and option between TPS and FPS, they wouldn’t necessarily need to add micro transactions because the option (TPS & FPS) would appeal to a much larger market thereby inflating game sales. Ubisoft like all businesses wants to make money obviously, so why not expand the playing community by giving them the option. More players equals more money surely. Great video mate! 👍

  • @twentytwo138
    @twentytwo138 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I fully agree with everything, especially on the argument about modded 1st person looking good only because the game was built on 3rd person. But i would add one more thing, if the game has both 1st and 3rd person which you can toggle whenever you want, the 3rd person wouldn't look that great because they would surely build the game on 1st person and add the 3rd person later. It's cheaper and faster, and it's Ubisoft. Basically in this scenario, the 3rd person would look like it's modded and it would look clunky. Ubisoft already struggled with Breakpoint's animations and it's only 3rd person. Now imagine if they had to put twice the effort to make 1st and 3rd person available. Both perspectives would be half-baked, neither the 1st nor the 3rd person would look great. If anything, 1st person would look mediocre and average, and 3rd person would be underwhelming. So i would encourage only the 3rd person, let's not give Ubisoft a bigger bite they can chew. They put very little effort in their games, they downgraded to an indie company. I'd rather see them allocate all the effort and budget into 3rd person only, instead of dividing it. I mean, if this was Rockstar or Kojima i would also ask for 1st and 3rd person because i know they could do it. But with Ubisoft, let's just be grateful if their game even launches properly lol..

Yeah with the rumors surrounding the game being first person if they decided to do a third person camera later it wouldn't be as good. From a business perspective going first person is a strategic move that will increase longevity of the game especially if they want to incorporate PvP and grow their player base from the tactical gaming community.
There's a lot of new features that need to be incorporated into the next Ghost Recon that will determine if it is successful and I don't feel first person vs over the shoulder is one of them.

Respectfully I disagree with your thought of switching back to FPS is a good business decision.
      Plse allow me to explain.
From the original Ghost Recon and all the way up until the last two versions of WL and BP, character customization-"kitting out"your character was not a "thing"
However, now it is. That's undeniable.
Both WL and BP offered customization options. Those cosmetic options became microtransactions, which ofcourse means additional $$$ for Ubisoft.
The customization options in BP were not well received. There were numerous complaints about gear selection, gear relevance, and non milsim gear being heavily featured.
The disappointment with the options available led to extensive modding in the pc community.
Those on consoles were left with just having to accept there were no options.
Gamers will gladly pay additional real $$$ in game, in order to customize their character / operator as they see fit.
Switching to FPS completely removes the gear customization aspect. Which in turn removes the possibility for additional$$$ for Ubisoft. And that is not good business. It's tone deaf. And would be harmful to Ubis bottom line. Dare I say it would be criminally negligent.
As well, I think profit margin for gear/weapon customization options would by far exceed the additional newcomer tactical milsim gamers you speak of to the Ghost Recon franchise. What they would gain from that market would be far less than what they lose by switching to and FPS only model.
Lastly,Ubi has cornered the market in the 3rd person milsim space. Stepping into an FPS arena with the likes of cod, battlefield, and countless other games would be a huge mistake.
Ghost Recon would lose its niche position. It would fade into obscurity due to the highly saturated offerings in that space.
Ghost Recon in that space would have to resort to selling weapon skins and cheesy perks, which would further push them into the abyss.

    • @TacticalCyberpunk-fo8hi
      @TacticalCyberpunk-fo8hi 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@johnedwards6124 "Dare I say it would be criminally negligent". Seriously? Give your head a shake.
It has been statistically known that first person has always been prefered over third person in shooting games especially in PvP. Those who prefer third person are a very small yet highly vocal minority. First person is a strategic decision becuase it will attract a large portion of people from the tactical shooter community as well as set up the next Ghost Recon game for PvP if they choose to go that route.
As for your character looking pretty. As long as they have photo mode to showcase the players drip then first person won't take away from those who like the visual stimulation from customizing their characters. Again those who want third person just becuase they like how it looks is a small yet vocal minority. The vast majority of the tactical shooter community all prefer first person.
Ready or Not and Escape from Tarov are two great examples of first person tactical shooters that offer full gear and weapon customization with functional gear. Players love it.

      @TacticalCyberpunk-fo8hi
No head shake here yoyngman. It would absolutely be criminally negligent in the highest of degree to revert back to an FPS only format for Ghost Recon amist such strong opposition.
U say 3rd person proponents are a minority? Are you sure? I'm not sure of that at all.
Infact how could you be sure? I'm only going by what I've seen on these forms strictly in regard to GhostRecon making a change. I am not claiming to have any insight into what milsim gamers as a whole prefer.
But I assure you there are far far more gamers advocating for a 3rd person or dual view, as opposed to solely FPS.
As well, who wants to play GhostRecon as a PvP offering??
When has that been its featured selling point?
I'm asking sincerely. Not in a condescending manner.
Here is another genuine question for you in the spirit of discussion and dialogue.
What makes a game "tactical or mil-sim" to u? Just curious. Name a few things.
Would viewpoint be a key determining factor? If it is for you that's fine. But overall, you think viewpoint set some sort of standard for milsim vs arcade-like non milsim?
Lastly, and respectfully,I think the point I made of Ghost Recon going FPS only and entering an oversaturated FPS market is perhaps the most valid. COD has that cornered! There's not a space for GhostRecon there. The brand recognition is too strong.
Sure you can make the argument for Ready or Not, Tarkov, or Ground Branch, or Squad, or ARMA. But would you agree those are niche brands on CPU?
Those games market share/ fan base combined could not equal even a fraction of COD or Fortnite or perhaps Battlefield market.
If they go hardcore tactical FPS, it certainly won't be on the level of the other hardcore games such as Ready or Not etc... It wouldn't be appealing and generate the type of sales I believe they are looking for.
Ghost Recon has been 3rd person for over a decade!!
How's COD 3rd person mode going? Does it exist even anymore?
We probably will disagree on the popularity of fps v 3rd as far as it applies to Ghost Recon.
I truly want a hardcore tactical mil-sim game. I'm just not convinced it cannot be delivered in third person view.
I guess we all will see what happens here in the next year or so.
I do not think switching to FPS solely would be in the best interest of the franchise.
However, I certainly am not saying Ubisoft will not do so.
Infact believe making such a tone deaf decision will be the course they go.

I love to see the movement on the characters in third person, also it being first person means that the terrain movement and tripping over from breakpoint won't be in the game, pretty much any fps games you feel like a superhero jumping around with no risk of falling over. I AGREE a 100% THE GAME HAS TO BE DEVELOPED FOR THIRD PERSON FIRST, might not be relevant but there is a FPS mod for resident evil 2 and it's the exact same thing, since the game is developed for third person, you get a lot more of that natural movement and feels much more immersive.
Leaving it with that driving any vehicle with the fps mod feels really good with the way the camera moves. Ubisoft don't mess this up PLEASE!

Spot on i agree should be similar to how arma does ir you can choose at any point between 1st and third and due to this the animations are made in 3rd and look cool in 1st

Me personally idc if its first or third pov. Would it be cool to add a toggle for the pov like pubg? Yes. But im hoping for gameplay to be on point. Long range snipes. Ai doesnt know exactly where your at. Just make it feel natural with patrols that go missing. Another patrol looks for them to figure out what happened.

3rd person (when not adsing) gives you a feel of the enivorment (senses you still can't even get in vr) and gives you Peripheral vision you don't get in first person view unless you have an ultra wide screen. I do believe, in PVP at least, to ads (sight) you do so only 1st person. Maybe even if you start shooting from the hips you slowly get to first person as well.

i would prefer it being a swap between 1st and 3rd person. and realistically that's probably what they're gonna do. these are just leaks, so at best we're getting half the story of a game that's most likely barely getting into alpha.
after 2 failures, one of them straight up getting canceled, i think (or at least hope) they learned their lesson about straying too far from what the players want.

    Tactical First Person Shooter games:
    Call of Duty
    Battlefield
    Rainbow Six Siege
    ARMA
    Apex Legends
    Farcry (ish kinda)
    etc...
    Tactical Third Person Shooter games:
    Ghost Recon Wildlands/Breakpoint
    ............ That's all folks!
So when they announce they are going to do FPS and jump into the very over saturated market while they were the ONLY shooter in the 3rd person space since Metal Gear ended is kinda shit.
Oh well, i guess i am just waiting for Kojima to return to stealth action after Death Stranding 2 for a GOOD 3rd person tactical stealth action game....

I mean there is a bit of hypocrisy here in my opinion. Cause your retort to those saying first-person is a return is that "first-person wasn't the defining characteristic of the original Ghost Recon." But that's true with third-person in the later Ghost Recons. That wasn't defining characteristic, or what made it good, either. I understand if you'd prefer 3rd person, but I really don't think going to first-person should be a dealbreaker, when as you say, it's not whether you are in 1st or 3rd person that makes Ghost Recon good, but the tactical style and environments. If they make it first-person, but make a great Ghost Recon game in every other aspect, there is no reason to complain at all.

    Another great vid 👌🏽
So here's my 2 cents on this very drawn out matter...
Have u guys seen all the recent modern warfare 2 and 3 3rd person gameplay?
That game was built fps from the ground up and I'll be damned the 3rd person animations would make u think the game was designed as a 3rd person shooter.
That being said, I hope that they include a 3ps mode for the folks who can't do without it... but don't think that a game that's fps primarily can't have 3ps secondary mode that pretty good animation wise.
I personally and the majority of my fellow GR fans don't mind a fps primary ghost recon game.
What where concerned about is the tactical realism aspect of the game and a strong narrative direction.
Idk how u guys do it but breakpoints dialogue and narrative was so bad is the reason I still play wildlands over it.

Just keep it like wildlands and breakpoint, 3rd person with the option to go 1st person. Everyone is happy. 3rd person is ace

    PVP matches.
    1st person only matches.
    3rd person only matches.
    Story mode.
Toggle friendly for the player to choose.
it should be a basic option on pretty much any game to switch.

Very well GhostLead. Literally exactly wat ive been sayin. But ya know wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft fuked it up an made it first with a later down da line 3rd person mode added after becuz Ubisoft haz bad habit of fukin up games. Only thing ya forgot ta say waz how they tried ta release a first person battle royale an the fans went batshit on it cuz aint *NOBODY* asked fer it. Hence why game waz shut down. All in all as a veteran of this series since ive been around wen it first dropped, I would like it ta remain 3rd person. Got enough of these CoD an BattleField in 1st so let us keep our *3RD PERSON Tactical Shooter*
Catch ya in next one GhostLead✌️😎

I love the OG ghost recon. Island Thunder is one of my FAV. but even I understand that a fully true First Person for the next installment wont be that good unless they bring back all those other mechanics from the OG and thats pushing it for a modern ghost recon. Ghost Recon, "besides the first one" has always been Third person. now me personally like you stated in this vid I think it would be a great idea to implement both first and third. And I would love to see the old squad base mechanics return too with permadeath. It can work in a open world setting. Considering the missions in OG ghost recon felt kinda semi open, I think it can work well if handled properly. They can even bring some rainbow six mechanics when it comes to doors and windows like the OG had. All im saying is that i still go back every so often to play those OG ghost recons, "mainly Island Thunder" just for those squad mechanics

I agree to go with 3rd person just bc I liked being able to see my character in wildlands\breakpoint be a badass in a rainy night, stalking some poor enemy. That feeling really gave me that “I’m the ghost” feeling. That being said, first person is also great but there r other games that do that more specifically like ready or not. That game is fantastic if I want to feel how cool it is to be in those shoes but for the ghost recon, I believe it should continue on its current course and try to learn from previous games and make a great 3rd person ghost recon game with a story to keep the player attached to.

It needs to stay a simple transition of third and first person view. If people want it to be first person there SHOULD be an option but it shouldn’t be forced upon people. I like seeing my character and their outfits

Maybe if they introduced first person if you completed the game on a new game plus mode . The customisation of the character would be huge . They need to have more character conversations or diff voices / characters have diff skills you play as . Character class selection so you can play differently from the beginning would be great .

The fact that we have seen so many games do choice pov well. It should just be a base thing for this series. The Elder Scrolls, the later GTA update. I get that game dev takes some decision making but this early in they shouldn't be trying to kill player choice with something like this.
Also crazy the gameplay from the old games unlocked a core memory for me. Cant believe I would play this game on a gamecube.
