The fact that you go Birdie on 7 is miraculous in itself. I love the encouragement to push for something that isn't comfy!!

I think it's funny/ironic that I paused your video to respond to your comment on my video :-)

I’m 56 and primarily a forehand guy. I’ve been playing for a year, having a blast, and didn’t even think about throwing forehands on hizer until about 2 weeks ago 😂. So perfect timing with this video. Thanks for the videos and I agree… lifetime learning is the best.

Hey welcome to the craziness of Disc Golf :-) keep having fun and don't get so uptight about score and keep working on growing and this will be a sport you will love for many years to come :-)

@@ogdiscgolfer - thanks Pete. You’re preaching to the choir. I already agree with your overall view on disc golf and I plan on playing until I can’t play.

I need to work on going for the @RobbieCDiscGolf "Needed" shot. I have "perfected" the greedy shot. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Pete good for thought. How about RHBH Turnover throw?

Thanks buddy, yes that is what I am doing with my Flippy birdie and It is my go to shot for the hole, but because it is a shot with a specific break that heads downhill... anything faster like my Uplink tends to try to fade past the basket...(it is in that in-between distance that makes it tricky... my Birdie is at the very end of its flight so I don't worry about going too far, but any other hyzer-flip or turn-over runs the danger of pushing too long or swinging too early into the tree jail which is the name of the hole.:D) that is one of the reasons I think the flip up pushing forehand will match the distance and the terrain better for getting the disc to fade and stop on the downslope versus matching the terrain and keep flying. I hope that makes sense. :D

I have a shot for my local last hole (10 on Berhampore, Wellington NZ)..
Its a 230ft down hill under a low branch ahead, open on the left but an ob green to the left of the basket, trees on the right... and a 30deg uphill under and behind the basket...
(oh and a boggy long grass over the last 80ft mid and right....)
Its a RHFH but I don't have a side arm so I've been throwing a RHBH diamond on Hyzer so it flips up and crosses back to the right.. and if it misses (hopefully over the bog) it can cut back to/past the basket...
It's a bit hairy, but avoids hitting that low lying branch...
nearly 2 years later I finally realised...
I can throw better now... I can throw under the branch... Gram a Wave and throw it hard into the bank behind the basket...
And I dang near chain it.
I guess where I'm going with this is,... If your game is changing... remember to try different shots on your 'This disc for this basket' holes, because you may find you have a better shot now.
    (or even a better disc)

Maybe keep the hyzer angle with your arm (since it’s comfortable), but change your posture to be more upright when you release? Net result might be the flatter shot you are looking for without having to change other mechanics.

Oh, there are plenty of changes I could make for that particular shot, but I am wanting to be more comfortable throwing flip up forehand in general. And let's face it, it is hard to demonstrate and work on a throw on video... so many elements that come into play and I am just happy when I don't look like a total goofball when trying to explain these things. :D Thanks!

I’m 65. I avoid any fh over 150’. I would love to have a 200’ fh, need to dedicate some field time to it.
