TO ALL: Just in case you didn't know by now, Yes, there will be a reaction to Stargate: The Ark Of Truth. It's coming to TH-cam next week on the 25th of December, 2024. Yes, Stargate: Continuum is also coming to TH-cam. She watched it last week after watching Atlantis 5x01, those edits are done and will be posted at the proper time using the Gateverse Watch Order she is following. For a look at what she's currently up to regarding the Gateverse, check the link below. Gateverse: www.aftershowreactions.com/Patreon-content/gateverse-patreon-reactions And to find out what's coming to TH-cam next, here you go, A.S.R. Continuity & Schedule: www.aftershowreactions.com/schedule Please don't mention any information regarding things beyond the episodes she's watched, let's try to give her the best experience watching the remaining episodes of the Gateverse. SG-1's journey may have ended, but there are still plenty of planets in the gate system left unexplored. More is coming! Thank you and we hope to see you again, Shan & Tony 😌✌
16:55 he can see she's actually, honestly emotionally invested in him - her tears say as much - Ergo he can afford to take a chance with her, it's not just "fun and throw away" like he thought she was aiming for.
The unfortunate thing about that is thinking how could it happen again for the two of them. Vala has spent so much time playing with Daniel and not being serious that it took something like this where they were both trapped for Daniel to finally unleash and then realise that she could actually be vulnerable. I suppose there might be another opportunity forcing them together, but organically it seems impossible.
That scene between Daniel and Vala where they finally talked about their feelings is absolute gold and amazing acting. Why Daniel decided to give it a chance? Because he saw that Vala was actually hurt. He thought she was playing, she wasn't. He recognized it. Brilliant scene.
I agree. I originally hated that scene cuz it seemed so OOC for Daniel but upon many many rewatches I think it’s more that he’s already in love with her and he thinks she’s messing with him and he doesn’t want to get hurt. As soon as he realizes she’s not playing he goes for it.
I wonder how many people put it together that Vala balling her eyes out with Daniel on the floor was probably learning that she couldn't bear children again...
I believe there was an interview somewhere with one of the creators or writers of the show where they did state something about that but that it was deemed too dark so they left it up for interpretation.
To be fair I believe the producers and show runners were originally planning to end the series after season 8 with the mobius episode but the Sc-Fi channel surprisingly renewed the show for a 9th and 10th season. I think in the middle of or close to the end of season 10 The Sci-fi network announced they had cancelled the show. During an interview the producers said they would have written a proper series finale for season 10 had they been informed about the show's cancellation early enough. But fortunately, the cast, and crew got the opportunity to follow up with a movie. That tied up some loose ends storyline wise.
Long series, I don't think I found anyone that finish this on TH-cam other than this channel. I honestly hate when series don't get finished so I have to give you props since you are the type that likes to finish what you started.
Yeah, I can agree with that. One other person I know is very easily "distracted" in that way. They'll start a series or franchise and then on the day in question, when you are expecting the next season or the next movie, they'll mention something about people screaming in the comment section to watch this or watch that and so they do. BUT they end up doing it so much that you come to realise that 8 months have gone by and there's STILL missing franchise or series' content. So yeah I gotta give props to those who finish what they start. Shan watched a fair few shows that I had to just stop because all my enjoyment was gone. Flash (after season 3; Batwoman (lost me in the first 5 minutes though); Supergirl (After season 2); Legends (after they killed off Stein); But Shan stuck it out with all of those so congrats to her for that.
A Matter of Time, Window of Opportunity and Unending. My three favorite episodes. Unending was a very deep and real dive into their personalities. Daniel is not interested in Vala because she is a flirt and a tease. Not one for serious commitment. They have been brewing for two seasons and she is finally ready to be with him body and soul.
Congrats!!🎉🎉🎉 You made the journey many of us took a (sadly) long time ago. Also happy to have been able to tag along your journey of this show. Glad you've enjoyed it and stuck with it, and even going for SGA and the movies.
Well done on making it to the end! That's some commitment. Honestly, this is a finale that's grown on me over time and is now one of my favourite series finales. SG-1 was always an ensemble show of found family type characters who were better and more capable due to each others differences and the hope that gave them. This episode showed us one particular future of what that meant to them, that montage with Have you Ever Seen the Rain kills me, the good times together, the sadness (with what I take as a miscarriage), the frustration of Mitchell and losing it, Sam keeping working at it. It's so bitter sweet and with such heart. The undoing and then the feeling that this is just the end of the stories we saw and not the end of SG-1 did feel a bit of a cheat to me to begin with but now, it kinda feels right. It feels very SG1 as so many episodes ended leaving at a place where it was left in your mind to imagine the after-effects of a story. It is a real shame they couldn't get Jack back but they were over-budget and no money, so I think they did a great job at capturing the spirit of SG1.
The implications of what The Tau'Ri do AFTER these events is kind of frightening. I mean Asgard ships cross Galaxies in Seconds - Remember Thor showing up to help those people after the Goa'uld invaded them (the Norse planet) - He was at that point in his own home Galaxy and made it in time to stop the Goa'uld. Or the episode where Jack goes undercover to find out that Melbourne has been running a black ops site with the second Stargate. The Asgard ship showed up pretty quickly. So with The Odyssey already upgraded, it shouldn't take all that much time to upgrade the Daedalus, right?? No more waiting 3 weeks to GET to Atlantis; they could be there in minutes. Also now that Humanity has Matter/Energy conversion technology they can BUILD at a very astonishing rate. They could have a serious fleet of ships in under a year, that will easily rival the Lucian alliance. But then ONE ship alone would be able to decimate the entire Lucian Alliance because their ships are ONLY Goa'uld technology. Their entire combined resources would be NO match for the Odyssey by itself. lol, a frightening and interesting idea to think about.
That IS a good Question though. BUT since Teal'c was isolated in the time Bubble HE was not reset. He was removed from time By the Bubble that kept him older. The old Teal'c IS THAT Teal'c. Time reset except for him. It's like The movie Star Trek: First Contact. The Borg successfully assimilated earth in the past and yet because the enterprise was "protected" THEY were still alive even thought NONE of them on the ship SHOULD be alive; seeing as the Borg assimilated their ancestors a few hundred years earlier.
Luckily I speak fluent Shannanese, "And then the development of that bish is not happening oh my gawd" referring ofcourse to the ship between Vala and Daniel.
My problem with this episode has always been: "If you can do it once, you can do it twice." In other words, there was no reason for Teal'c to have to "lose" 50 years of his life compared to the others. Instead of stopping Sam from activating the time device the second time, he could've let her do it again. This time, however, they wouldn't have had to wait 50 years for her to figure everything out; all the instructions would be on the crystal. So after a few days or weeks of setting things up again, they loop for a second time, but choose one of the others to survive the loop. Now, instead of a team with one member 50 years older than the rest, they'd have one team member a few days or maybe a week older than the rest.
But if a 2nd person would go back just a few days or weeks after the time device was initiated just to bring the solution back to the present and not have anyone age that much, it would likely erase everything that happened during the 50-ish years SG-1 had been on the ship, meaning it would also erase Old Teal'c causing him to never come back with the solution to their problem, thus creating a time paradox.
im happy i was watching with you, 3 years wow, ive seen the show over 20 times, yet certain moments get me every time, that daniel/vala moment was touching, teal is op... im glad you'll be doing also the movies for a proper conclusion, thank you, such a special show for me
I've said it before and I'll say it again; I think THIS ship design is an infinite improvement to the Prometheus. lol. It doesn't look completely different and the design looks as though the Prometheus was simply upgraded. The same basic design and color scheme is still the same; it's just that this new design is wider and things are moved around and modified to look more aesthetically pleasing. whoever the ship designer is (in real life - not the show) they did a hell of a job. 👏👏👏👏 Not ALL the ships "looked" all that great. lol.
This is a good episode but it's a weird final episode. Usaully this type of final episode happens when the show has already had the big threats defeated and the last episode is the goodbye episode. But the bog threat still exist. And now they got a film to rap it up
As the pinned comment already stated, Stargate: The Ark Of Truth will be posted to TH-cam next week on the 25th of December, 2024. As for Stargate: Continuum, it was watched after Atlantis 5x01. They are both edited and are currently scheduled to be posted to TH-cam on the 26th of March, 2025.

Daniel's comment on how to tell the Asgard apart, "it's the voice" was an inside joke,. Michael Shanks does the voice of Thor.
I wonder how many people put it together that Vala balling her eyes out with Daniel on the floor was probably learning that she couldn't bear children again...
I put it down to Vala properly facing her past trauma, but but I could see you being right.

S9+10 was supposed to be a spin off SGC followed by S11 which turned into the two movies.

The show finally giving us Daniel and Vala and then immediately taking it away from us was a satanic move.
Amazing! Never seen anyone react to the entire series before 👏

Indeed!
Been a long time coming! Decent enough ending for a show whose cancellation came out of nowhere and they had to scramble.

19:06 Come again:) Gonna need subtitles for this one:)

@@TonyWasHere Riiiight! Thanks :)
Congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Sadly only one of the movies is good- ark of truth.
Teal'c looks pretty good for a 157 year old Jaffa
The Asgard are going to suicide themselves.
Audience: they are going to -
BOOM
Audience: ?!?!?!?!

"Wasn't a good series finale" because there was supposed to be SG1 season 11 but it got cut down to just Ark of Truth.
I agree, it's a fun episode but a bit meh as a series finale.
