    I can't believe that I learned how to do this beautiful join! You are a wonderful teacher. I am so excited to be able to join all these pretty squares that I worked up over the last few months. Thank you very much!

    Thanks! I hated joining grannies or any motif (& forget about mile a minutes) because all I knew was slip stitching the pieces together. Your technique is much more elegant.
    I signed up for your newsletter, too! 😁

    I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I was making a couch cover using Mile-a-Minute strips but that pattern called for a join that left a very distinct ridge which I didn't like. So I had all these strips and no way to connect them until I found your video. I used your instructions and connected the strips together and it is beautiful. It is flat which is exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much. You have a lot of great videos.

    This was SO helpful! I'm "reteaching" myself to crochet after years and years so made a bunch of granny squares to practice on. So many of the printed instructions aren't clear (or use the same color yard to join as the squares :( ), and too many of the videos aren't very clear. This one was great.

    I would like to tell you that your the best person that i can learn from & understand your tutorials. Thank you ..
    but i was searching for a new joining squares method that I can't find a good video for it, nor in you lovely channel. It's called " Joining with slip stitch " i guess it's the same as normal joining method, but using a crochet hook & joining in the back loop on the edges of the squares , so it becomes very neat & invisible.
    I would ask you if you know this method, would you please create a tutorial to demonstrate it ?
    Thank you in advance dear :)

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can still do the flat braid join - I would recommend starting off with the same border as I show in the tutorial. Just make your double crochet stitch, chain three and then skip three stitches before making a double crochet in the next stitch. You'll then be ready to start the flat braid join 😊

  • @lisjvv

    • @bellacococrochet

      Yes absolutely; with the flat braid join you can both increase and decrease the number of chain spaces 😊

    Can you mix regular crochet stitches with Tunisian Crochet stitches. I have really taken to the Tunisian Crochet but i can't do the other stitches yet.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As they are both made using different methods I'm not sure if you would be able to mix them as such, but it would certainly be possible to creates squares in Tunisian crochet, and in regular crochet, and join them into a blanket or afghan 😊

    Can we use this join for any type granny square like a solid granny square or sunburst granny square

  • @chikkime
    @chikkime 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, newbee here just starting to learn... I have a general question. I've been trying to find a technique to join squares together, but the size of my squares isn't always the same size as the one in the tutorial. After watching your video, I wonder if the "rule" to this is: add as many stiches for the "loops" + single crochet as there are stiches on the side of the square. I see you have worked with 3 double crochets and then a chain one in between, so that makes 4. Then you add 3 chains for the outer "loop" and one crochet to attach the chain. That makes 4. Is that the general rule to follow? So if my square is made of 5 stiches and a chain, I would need to chain 5, and then attach with a chain? And of course, increase the corners? I didn't see you make an increase of the corner in this video though, but maybe that is why your work curls a bit?

    • @ceciliaschleicher278
      @ceciliaschleicher278 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The squares already have the extra stitches which are counted for. So, when joining no extra stitches are needed.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, although you might find it helpful to add a plain border of double crochets to the squares before you begin. You would then work around in exactly the same way as I show in the tutorial, just skipping two or three stitches at a time where you make your chain stitches. I will certainly add this to my list of possible future tutorials 😊
