Martin Garcia Garcia is the only pianist in this Competition able to transport listeners to a unique, unchartered musical universe opening hearts & minds to Chopin’s true genius. Sadly, the police of minor mistakes/inaccuracies could never comprehend such artistry nor do they deserve to.
Bravo Maestro.
I couldn't agree more. In fact, the mistakes are the very reason he stands out, because they are evidence of things like spontaneity, creativity, risk taking, making music in the moment and providing a few pleasant surprises for the listener. Alfred Cortot was like that.

Sad but true. The second theme was introduced in such a wonderful and authentic way and the Coda was outstanding I haven't listened to such a honest interpretation of this piece for a long while. Especially in competitions. Funny you've mentioned Cortot... he came into my mind as well.

He got everything literally perfect up until that last note 🤣 A sprinkle of bad luck amidst all the perfection.
Well at least it didn't hurt the rest (as in what followed) of the performance. Imagine getting the first note wrong, and then trying to mentally shake that off for the rest of the piece. Also - BRAVO!!!
@@yurowitzit was deff not all perfect. 7:52 is an example of another mistake. The last mistake is just extra noticable cause it is so naked
The only competition in music is to exist in that world between the body and soul where only the heart communicates, and every listener is crying in joy.
Bravo! He is an acceptional pianist. He really tells a story which is shown on his face, and is not afraid to make a mistake. This should be the standard. Hope he will play the Spanish piano music too in future, like De Larrocha did!

Przeciętny człowiek z przeciętnym słuchem nie jest w stanie wychwycić różnicy pomiędzy grą pianistów w tym konkursie. Wszyscy wydają się wspaniali. A jednak czasami zdarza się, że przeciętne ucho usłyszy coś wyjątkowego. Dla mnie pan Martin jest wyjątkowo delikatny. Bardzo pięknie oddaje ducha muzyki Chopina, zachwyca nie tylko profesjonalnych znawców.
А для меня то был Верчиньский, мечтала услышать его в финале!
Do tego konkursu myślałem identycznie w 100% jak Pan ! To był mój trzeci konkurs a drugi odsłuchany w całości od A do Z . W podstawówce 3 lata grałem na flecie prostym utwory typu "Wlazł kotek,..." czy kolędy . Nauczono mnie nut. Po chorobie prawego ucha 10 lat temu mam słabszy słuch tzw. szumy naczyniowe np. w nocy . ale udało mi się publicznie na profilu konkursu Ch.I jeszcze przed werdyktem jury wytypować wszystkich finalistów i zwycięzcę co w tym konkursie o rekordowo wysokim poziomi graniczyło z cudem. 4 miejsce Kobayashi źle wytypowałem bo u mnie dostała 3. Gadjieva nie widziałem w pierwszej piątce a dostał 3 . Wstyd się przyznać ale trafiłem na pana komentarz który mnie zaintrygował szukając powyższego utworu Chopina Ballade in G minor, Op. 23 którego nazwy nie znałem do dziś a usłyszałem go ponownie ( po konkursie) wczoraj w filmie "ANTYLE CHOPINA" Więc chyba nie trzeba być profesjonalistą drewniane ucho też ma szanse🤪 . Co do charakterystyki MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA zgadzam się z Panem w 100% choć można by sobie zadać pytanie o którym z finalistów konkursu z uwagi pandemię stojącego na najwyższym w historii poziomie nie można by powiedzieć tego samego ? Ja takiego znalazłem ! Ale irytowało mnie ,image tego artysty więc trudno o obiektywizm tak jakbym słuchał bez wizji z TV KUTURA . Pozdrawiam serdecznie .Szczerbiński Rafał

Astonishing playing. This may now be my personal favorite performance of Ballade in G minor
Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser romantischen und fein komponierten Ballade im relativ langsamen Tempo mit anmutigem Klang des technisch perfekten Klaviers und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach genial!

@@robertocarvalhodemagalhaes3648 he was the first competitor in chopin competition history to not get a single failing mark from one of the judges. his expression is very good in my opinion. Though i do love this rendition of this piece a lot

Not the first pianist to not hit that final note cleanly. Tiffany Poon also did it th-cam.com/video/N76cJqdjUjA/w-d-xo.html It must be so frustrating after what was a great performance of this iconic piece of music; measured and unhurried through the slower sections, exhilarating through the dramatic sections. He went on to place 3rd in the competition and won the prize for the best Concerto.

9:09 we all know why that part is more replayed than the code itself... Im just wondering... how? how one note right after playing the hardest coda?
Its actually not aa strange as it may seem. Its a very real human psychology thing. Now, there could be many reasons why he could have played that note wrong. But one very plausible reason could be the psychological trick played by the mind where the idea of playing a most basic chord just after several minutes of playing a piece of great complexity, feels.... just weird. It can come with a sense of awkwardness. That is the most plausible reasoning behind this that i can think of.

This is the best performance I ever of this piece
A key detail of a pianist greatness is how pleasant he is to watch. How much the audience enjoys being captivated by a certain persons playing. If I want to watch an asylum inmate hallucinate for 10 minutes, I can find it elsewhere, hopefully not over music im trying to enjoy.

Naprawdę proszę popracować nad pisownią i ortografią.
Po drugie:
Martha Argerich to pianistka światowej klasy i cytując Stefana Wysockiego: "[Argerich] by bez niego [Konkursu Chopinowskiego] dalej miała wielką i udaną karierę"
Po trzecie:
Jeden błąd w wykonaniu Koncertu f-moll (i tak rzadko wybieranego w tym konkursie przez jego trudność) nie wpływa na na wynik całego konkursu. Sędziowie oceniają, jak pianista/pianistka grali przez wszystkie trzy etapy i finał.
Przepraszam za błędy , właściwie za brak liter bo szybko pisałam , szanuje Marthe Argerich , mam jej pierwsze płyty , ale na tym samym poziomie szanuje Martina Garcia Garcia.

García is a very common surname in Spain, thus both his parents must bear this family name.
In Spain and some other Spanish speaking countries people have two surnames. First surname is the first one of the father and second one is the first of the mother.
