I was on the staff when Medieval Times opened in 1986. We used to ride the bus all the way down Beach blvd to Huntington Beach in the mid 70’s- for a quarter. Knots Berry farm had the best bands in so cal every summer. Missing Persons, 20/20, Whitesnake, and many of the best local bands.
My uncle was the 5th person hired by Disneyland Inc. in 1954, see "Three Years in Wonderland" book from 2016 by Todd James Pierce for documentation of many not commonly known stories of the making of Disneyland! My uncle had 1,100 people under him, and reported directly to Walt Disney during his tenure, as a manager from 1956-61. He later on picked the site of, and named Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, when he was one of the Vice Presidents at Sea World. I went to MM on opening day, May 28, 1971. The logo on my hat icon was the first MM logo, designed by my cousin, and is the actual hat that my uncle wore during MM's construction! Great Vlog!!!!!
After we moved to Georgia in 1968, my Dad took me back to California on a vacation in 1969 to see stuff again (Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, etc...). We went to this Hollywood Wax Museum. One exhibit I remember was they had Fred MacMurray in his flying car from the Absent Minded Professor, flying around a tree in a huge room (actually flying around it). Being a huge Disney fan, that one was awesome to me, and I was 12 that year. Sad to see it is gone! Thanks Jordan!
The white house use to be a doll museum. And hobby city was cool back in day. Had a candy shop cabbage patch doll shop .indian and cowboy shop a lil train u could ride for 75 cents and that brown builing was a bear shop nothing but bear stuffed animals
Tony Brito It was fantastic! I got my first Cabbage Patch doll there at the nursery AND my Furskins by Xavier Roberts Cabbage Patch Bear at the Bear Tree.
😭. I didn't know they closed down the wax museum! I used to love that place when I lived down there. How sad. there was a guy that would jump out at you. You would think that he was a wax figure, but he wasn't! Oh did I scream.
OMG! I used to go to Knotts and the movieland wax museum all the time as a kid. Last time I was there was in the 70's but first time was in the 60's. Your vlogs bring back so many memories. Love them.
😂 🦁 says to 🐒, “Jay, are we in NY and didn’t know it?” 😂 It is Awesome that you are being Blessed with extra donations!!! You deserve it. Another, Great Video! 🦁👍👏🦁
Wow! I loved Hobby City. They used to have a Cabbage Patch hospital/store there in the 80's where you could buy/adopt Cabbage Patch dolls or even bring in your own Cabbage Patch dolls for a check up. Brings back so many memories. Thanks for that trip down memory lane.
Wax Museum, closed.. What a loss! But, that theme park, with the roller coaster, that is awesome! I cannot imagine an 'ordinary' day, there. There is adventure, everywhere! Thanks, Jordan, for the tour and💜Jah! 👍
Awesome video Jordan, I didn't know this place existed, looks like a bygone era. Jah is looking at fit as a fiddle, and he's always so happy, what a trooper!
When I started watching your vlogs I thought of you as a historian, documenting the interesting before it's gone. I appreciate that places and stories will live on in your vlogs. Awesome hats ! oh yeah VIKINGS !! My team.
I used to work at Movieland. The wax figures were auctioned off. Some where moved to the Fisherman's Wharf wax museum. The footprints were destroyed. Very sad.
Hey Jordan I'm one of your big fans from Michigan. I love your adventures it's a vacation for me every time i watch your vlogs. Things i may never get to see your knowledge of all your trips is amazing. Keep up the great work i totally appreciate all your hard work safe travels 😊
Jah you little love bug❤. Can't wait to see the interview with David Arquette! !!! So sad that the wax museum closed. Thank you for the history update Jordan!! Much love to you and Jah ❤ ❤
I hope noone destroyed the hand and foot prints. It be a shame. One thing in life that is guaranteed. Change. So it's good to record now . Everything changes so fast . Jah is happy to have daddy home. Peace to you and Jah!
Great locations to show. We went to a medieval times in Orlando and had so much fun. I actually watched the movie after the previous vlog you mentioned it in so I’m ready. Lol.
I wish you could have seen it. It was one of the most spectacular things I've ever experienced. Not only did they have a wax figure of every famous star, but they had huge, elaborate sets that recreated their most famous films. There was a huge set of the chariot race from Ben Hur (1959) with chariots. They recreated the scene where the man gets run over by the chariot!
Hi! Jordan my friend, thanks for fliming another part of Hollywood history that will so be gone. At least the future generations will get to it through your brilliant videos. Thanks for keeping the memories alive.
I used to work right down the street on Beach and Chapman back in the 90s. I have been to Adventure city multiple times as well as Movieland, Knotts, Medieval times, Ripley's etc. Used to be a great restaurant called Po' folks between Movieland and Knott's.
Thanks Jordan and Jah...always entertaining and great..love seeing and hearing about the places I will never get to travel to. It's like I'm right there too...thanks Jordan 👍
As a kid in the 70s loved Beach Blvd grew up in the valley and seeing Beach blvd on the Golden state fwy was exciting. We'd go to movieland and Knotts and also the alligator farm which was across the street. When I saw Harbour I knew I was going to Disney
👍 vlog Jordan. It kind of reminds me of the old I-drive in Orlando and the surrounding area. Good capture for posterity. People will also "thank that great vlogger" in the future. What a life! You are blessed. What can I say Jah, you make me 😃
I grew up in BP and I’m glad you shared this great town. My first house was right across the street from Knotts. You should study the Knotts story it’s so much more than what you shared.
As a kid in the 90s when visiting Disneyland we used to stay at Embassy Suites next to Medieval Times such a rad hotel! I would read my bmx magazine w the window open watching and hearing people screaming at Knotts! And we went to that wax museum I was little I cant remember much but it cool. Theres a cool McDonalds right near there and in the 90s it had the radest arcade and themed really well itd be awesome to see today! I love arcades theyre just awesome! Thanks Jordan bringing back memories.
Great vlog. Sorry to see the old attractions disappearing. Seems to be the way of the world these days. It's really sad to see yet another Starbucks takes over the Hollywood Wax Museum. The Excalibur hotel in Las Vegas has a Medieval dinner show too. I went to it many years ago and quite enjoyed it. The Pirate dinner theater looks like fun too.
I am but a OC Bus ride from here. I used to work in a hospital in Huntington Beach on Beach Blvd. I never went the opposite direction to see what was down there. After this Covid-19 is over, I think I will plan a day trip and go see if these places are still open. If so, I would like to treat myself to Medieval Times &/or The Pirate show.
Thanks for the Vlog today. I haven’t been to CA since I was 14. Loved it. Great memories of that trip. The building that looks like the White House is a wedding/event venue. And it does have a mini rose garden in the back.
Reason for Pirates to look like Buck Owens Crystal Palace is because before it was Pirates it was built western style for a Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley show.
Jordan 🗣 en Jah. Jah 🐕 en Jordan. Who wld'v thought i would be a junky on u both an the vlogs u do. When i see the Hollywood sign thankz to you i know places that surround it. Enjoyed taking a walk with you today. ATAHUA (beautiful ) 💕
Love Hobby City and Adventure City. Use to go there once a month to buy hobby stuff. Was a really cool hobby city when I was living in area. Sure can't believe that wax museum is gone instead of the Hollywood Wax Museum. Loved that wax museum. Sorry you did not get to see it. I still have my brochures, view-masters and postcards of both places. Oh, the White House building use to house a Doll and Toy Museum that I really dug.
That was an interesting little jaunt! Lots to see and do along there! Can't wait for you to take us back to the Medieval Towers and the pirate dinner theater. Thanks Jordan!
Another day in Paradise. Beach Blvd looks great I wish I had of known about when I was there. The lens was ok but hopefully you get the new one soon. If you go to Vegas the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur is excellent 3 course dinner and show.
Ow, He OC? My neighborhood. I spent my youth riding the OCTA bus 29(beach Blvd) from my house next to Knott’s to Huntington on Beach. I worked at Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park in 1978. They’re putting in a Butterfly thing in it’s place. They used the building for The Titanic & Bodies Exhibit there for over a year. Oh, try Rock N Brew next door. Great food, lot’s of flat screen tvs showing 80s videos, posters on the walls, and when you walk around the outside, you’ll see old 33s from just about every rocker ever made. It’s really cool. We pass by the Stanton Swap Meet all the time.
😇💙Hi Jordan, I know that this vlog, was a year ago, and I had NO IDEA that, The Movie Land Wax Museum, isn't there anymore, my Aunt Salley used to work there { She's a twin } and when I think of the Wax Museum, I remember that Nancy Sinatra was near or on a motorcycle in the museum. It was years ago, that I visited the museum, so SAD that it isn't there anymore. I would like to, one day go to Medieval times, and maybe to the Pirate restaurant. Thank YOU for sharing this adventure with us.
So sad to see the museum torn down and the missing prints. This was a fun vlog though. Jah is just too cute!❤ I already did my homework and so ready for tomorrow's vlog!
"Rewind Racers"... that is the best tongue twister I have heard in awhile... Try this one my Grandpa and I came up with when I was 10 (3 times fast) "Herbert Hoover Hubert Humphrey"... lol
Wonderful vlog! Brought back childhood memories of seeing all the Hollywood stars. I remember taking a picture with the was figure of Mr Spock. I remember seeing the wizard of oz characters, and Kirk Douglas as Spartacus! So many memories. I can't believe it's gone! I took my son there in 1996, and it was a shadow of its former self! They had a Huge statue replica of Michael Angelos David, outside. If you would have seen it in the early 70s as I did, you wouldn't have believed how beautiful it was! Another thing that's not there anymore is a restaurant called Po Folks🙁 Best fried chicken, hush puppies, and sweet tea anywhere! The white house used to be a doll museum not too long ago, and they used to have a reptile zoo inside of Hobby City.
Movieland Wax Museum was Awesome! I grew up going there. You would have loved the Posiden Adventure exhibit with Shelley Winters in it. It was incredible!
I know this is an old video Jordan, but Boston and the history there would be great for you to vlog. Old Iron Sides, Bunker Hill, the Massacre in front of city hall, Union Oyster House with JFK's favorite booth with plaque. The freedom trail! Let me know!! Jeff
Can you do a vlog on the Willard Mansion in Hancock Park? The house was featured in the movie Willard. Dr. Arnie Klein use to own it and I believe has sold it. Dr. Klein was the doctor that Michael Jackson was friends with.
I live about a mile and a half from Hobby City. Sadly, its nothing like it used to be. Adventure City started out as a petting zoo then grew from there. Hobby City used to be just that, a city of hobbies. The White House, at one time, was the office and a doll museum. They used to gave a full scale, HO train layout and a large scale slot car track where Prestige Hobbies is (if theyre still open). There was an aquarium/exotic fish store, baseball card shop (i worked there), a flintlock musket shop, an indian depot, a sea shell store, a Barbie Boutique, stamps & coins, retiles, a baking shop dateddy bear tree, uh, i mean store - all sorts of fun things. But sadly rents went up and the internet took most shops w/ it. I have pictures of the closed Wax Museum. One us of the memo posted in the box office window that said they were officially closed as of 31 October 2015. And i have photos of the Graman'sesque foot and hand prints cement slabs. Elvira, Deforest Kelly, the actor that played Scotty on Star Trek, Vincent Price and a few others. There used to be a Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum but it closed about 10 years ago. And the Pirates Dinner Theatre was originally a western, cowboy, wild west-themed dinner experience. But Midievel Times took all its business. Next time youre back in OC look me up. I can be your tour guide.
MT's is in Orlando. Still haven't been there and I'm only an hour away.......way too touristy for me. The Ren Faire Jousters I know DID NOT start at MT's, they are highly skilled horsemen and work a year long circuit of Ren Faires around the country. Though I have met one who does occasionally work at MT's as a side job during the weekdays.
GREAT ONE,,PLEASE DO MALIBOU LAKE CLUB,Frankenstien ,Must love dogs,The love bug Herbie ,Parks and recs ,Coneheads, tons of commercials, reality tv, The burning bed,and so much more was filmed,,,,I fish there and love the people who live there.
So interesting!Wish they knew where are the footprints/handprints are....probably in a storage facility someplace, like many other iconic Hollywood things! Just sacreligious that places like this are just torn down, and the trail of where the foot/and handprints and props end up are unknown! I haven't been to the MT, in MCO or LAX. Love that every corner, is something iconic...being at the park you can see the old apt of WH and Iconic Sunset Blvd! Such an awesome vlog!
Awesome vid!!! I need to play catch up. I was on my own adventure..Supernatural PittCon baby! Woo. lol I'm off to Lisbon w/you now! (ps. I live in Lisbon, OH! lol)
That is sad that they tore down the wax museum. Looks like there were a lot of fun things to visit on Beach BLVD. I know we have a mid evil restaurant here in Ga. too . A friend of mine took her boyfriend there for his birthday a few years ago . Except the one that's here is inside of Discover Mills Mall . I have always wanted to go . I remember when you were in Rome ...I thought about the Mid Evil restaurant . I would love to see you make a vlog at night time there at the Pirates Restaurant some night too . Jau looks like he was having a great time . He is so...cute and so are you Jordan !! Oh I meant to ask....does Jau ever bark ? I don't think I've ever heard him bark . He's always so well behaved I just never realized that until now . Thanks Jordan for another great vlog !!
Thanks for your vlog Richard uk Coventry if you came to uk you are welcome to stay at my family home very near Stratford upon Avon Warwick and Leamington spa love Richard uk Coventry

I love the sound of ‘Daze With Jordan The Lion’, in the morning!
So sad about the wax museum, great vlog today and Jah was as gorgeous as always.
Hobby City was very cool back in the day, there was a full model train set up a doll museum and many more very neat shops.
Yes! What a fun place.
I used to go to the model shop there. Also Hot wheels convention at hotel next to Knott's.
😂 🦁 says to 🐒, “Jay, are we in NY and didn’t know it?” 😂

I remember road racer, if I have time I’ll give it to rewatch. I’m looking forward to this awesome interview. Great video
City ordinance’s always seem to interfere with fun. What a bummer about the video games.

Love your show and your dog. Thank you for taking us to places where I / us not able to go.
I remember Movieland I was there when I was younger I barely remember it. It was one of my favorite things to do there. So sad.
Hi Jordan and little Jah, another great volg! It's like being there with a personal tour guide, without all the hassle. Thank you!
Sad that the wax museum closed down. Viewing from Cape Town it is really great to see the streets, shops etc of LA.

Buster Keaton days was great -- I felt like I was there with you~Thanks for the vlogs, Jordan! :)
Jah is so much fun to watch. Speed demon! lol Cool vlog! Justin Scarred did a vlog about that adventure place.

Thanks for sharing. I went to Knotts Berry Farm in the early 60's. Nice memories.
When I saw the Medieval Times outdoor corrals I thought of Norco, CA. Have you been there? The town has a western theme.
Thanks for the Vlog today. I haven’t been to CA since I was 14. Loved it. Great memories of that trip. The building that looks like the White House is a wedding/event venue. And it does have a mini rose garden in the back.

I remember that the Wax Museum was a big deal in the 1960s. Also, the Hobby City complex had slot car racing, which was also a "thing" back then.
It's fun to do the touristy things sometimes.

I hope you can find out what happened to the footprints etc. What an interesting vlog. Lots to view with information. Thank you Jordan

There is Adventure Park USA in Frederick County, Maryland. It is similar. Very family oriented.

They destroyed them
