The first 3 cinematics are a prequel to the events of the MMO, they are nothing but setup for the story lines of the game. I love all of the cinematics of SWTOR they have such good story telling and emotion in just 3-4 minutes.
You missed one of the trailers, "Sacrifice". It's events occur simultaneously to "Betrayed", but it has better context for the events from the perspective of the twin brothers and the father. The story surrounding the father (Emperor Valkorion), mother (Senya Tirall), twin brothers (Arcann and Thexan), and the daughter (Vaylin) are part of the Knights of the Eternal Throne storyline in SWTOR. The Eternal Empire of Zakuul is not part of the Republic OR Sith Empire. They are a third faction from the Unknown Regions and stronger than both of the other two factions combined owing to their absolutely massive fleet of powerful starships called "The Eternal Fleet" which is operated entirely by sentient droid commanders. In fact, they are so powerful that the Sith Empire and Republic even joined forces in a temporary truce to defeat Zakuul and they still got crushed.
Wow, that sounds soo good. I now a bit about the Unknown Regions from the "Legends" content, but it sounds pretty badass. I am a bit sad that they do not adapt stuff like this. Like, most of the stuff is "old with a new paintjob". Perhaps we will stuff like this in the future, that would be amazing =)
The third trailer where Malgus sacks the Jedi Temple. That was the first to come out for these games. And I remember as a kid watching the original E3 trailer release on TV and they had a theater audience there for the EA press conference I believe and when this trailer first came on… Oh My God.. nobody knew what they were in for. Everyone was so shocked at the presentation that the audience cheered and the reporters for the channel G4TV at the time who did E3 coverage back then were so shocked and excited. The feeling and momentum for the game and story was just felt in those minutes after the release
I agree, the trailers are super cool. Remind me of how much great potential the Star Wars universe has (had?). I just love Jedi fights, they are so dope =)
Kao Cen Darach, Satele's Master in "Return", was a Zabrak Jedi Master and Battlemaster of the order. Darth Vindican, master of Malgus in "Return", is a pureblood Sith (the actual race, who returns to his race's home planet, which you've seen in Kotor as well, that Sith Academy of Revan's/Malak's Sith Empire on Korriban, which was not the true Sith Empire that returns here). In "Hope", both Satele and Malgus have become seriously powerful, but the first three trailers are pre-game and establish the storylines of the game (where Satele is a Jedi Grandmaster and Malgus eventually tries to establish himself as the Sith emperor at one point). And the trooper in "Hope" is the surviving trooper from "Return", named Jace Malcolm. After the Battle of Alderaan him and Satele get intimate and produce a companion character for the game character :D So just like her ancestors Bastila and Revan (she is a Shan and a direct descendant of the two), she got it going, in defiance of her teachings. The fourth and fifth trailer are trailers for game DLCs. Oh, and the events of "Deceived" are still felt in the Jedi order in-game. And the Twilek waltzing into the temple with Malgus was his wife, whom he eventually kills since he feels she's a weakness, which he needs to destroy. And in between "Deceived" and "Betrayed" you skipped "Sacrifice", you need to watch that to understand who "that guy" is ;) They are neither Republic nor Sith ;) Yes, it's a disgrace that they've got stuff like this around and give us films like Rise of Skywalker. Eww.
That all sounds so amazing! I don't understand how you could throw this away and give us that stupid trilogy. Thanks for explaining this, though =) Is this a solo game or multiplayer? I might play it, feels really nice =)
@@storieswithstyle yep, it's an MMORPG, though I personally prefer to play solo (I'm not much of a guild person, and thanks to your companion, you can manage without a guild). You can choose between 8 different classes (4 classes on either side which mirror each other), with 4 force-sensitive classes (Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior and Jedi Consular/Sith Inquisitor), with each class offering specializations later on. You get to choose your species, like Zabrak, Togruta or Sith Pureblood, though some can only be obtained by buying them through the in-game cartel market and some are Republican- or Sith only (would be weird to have a republican Sith Pureblood). Each class has their own class missions and storylines, with some great storylines and some not so great storylines (I haven't played the non-force-sensitive classes, though). Story-wise, I love the Sith Warrior storyline (I love the light sided Sith Warrior), and gameplay-wise nothing beats out the Sith Inquisitor (just zap 'em all, loving it). You visit many planets with their own planet missions, as well, and visit some places you've already seen in Kotor or the films, like Taris, Coruscant or Nar Shaddaa. Oh, and if you'd like, you get to unravel the Shadow of Revan in one of the expansions.
@@DandrebBernardes Ah, thanks for the explanaiton. I might look into it then, seems to be a lot of fun and if you can do it alone, it might be something to try out =)
There is actually a Jedi that I forgot the name of his species but they have 4 arms and he uses 2 dual-sabers also the girl named Satele the reason she is so strong with the force is cause she is a Shan meaning she is a direct descendant of Revan who is probably the most powerful force user in the extended universe
A film during this era would definitely revive star wars popularity a time in which the Jedi, Sith, and Mandalorians, numbered In the thousands at their peaks in strength that would be awesome!
@@storieswithstyle the mandalorians also had large numbers as well, and if you've heard of the Mandalorian Wars the Jedi and Mandalorian armies faught each other the Jedi however eventually won the war.
It looks like my favorite passtime is watching youtubers react to these trailers 😅 Especially Satele catching that Lightsaber. Personally, i love swtor. Its got a good story, millions of lines of voiced dialogue, and wonderful NPCs.
And thank you for deciding to watch the trailers separately. There is a combined cut in which the dialogue in "Hope" and "Deceived" is changed, and not for the better. The original dialogue, which you can enjoy here, is far better in those two trailers.
The Twi'Lek with Malgus during the assault on the Jedi Temple is an Imperial Agent, not a force user of any kind. All the main characters in the first 3 trailers correspond to one of the eight playable classes in the mmo.
that twelek was not an imperial agent she was Malgus lover which later on he killed because of lust for power and saw in her a bit of a hindrance because he loved her as well and saw it as a weakness
In legends there is a red skinned female Twi'Lek sith lord called Darth Talon. I think Lucas wanted to include her in his original idea of the sequels, before he sold Star Wars to Disney. She can be seen in the 4th cinematic that you have missed called "Sacrifice".
@@storieswithstyle She can be seen in the 4th Old Republic cinematic that you have missed called "Sacrifice". That one takes place before the last one that you have watched.
