Leap/Landing encourages understanding that to experience the peaks of life to their full, we must also endure the lows. The song tackles a fear of positive feelings when eventually, they all come to an end. Despite how these struggles can narrow our field of vision, support can be found in the people around us - people who will follow our leap and cushion every descent.
At Ōtepoti SongHubs listening party, the incredible creatives Keira met during the week harmonising to the song’s ending brought many of them to tears. That moment encapsulates the song’s meaning - the power found in connection when you shed the fear of living. For a long time, it felt safe to disengage from emotions to protect themself from the extremes. Leap/Landing embodies recovery and values the people who helped Keira reach the place they are in today.
