      Feel like I'm gonna be watching this a good few times to learn to setup my shocks, in order to get rid of this torque twist that my rig has, still want it to have flex 💪🏻 but just need to get rid of the torque twist so it will crawl a lot better. 🤟🏻

      After doing quite a few builds with them, I have realized, this is the best setup I can do to prevent torque twist, and body lean!!
      I am actually really surprised at how good this truck performs with its high stance!
      And I'm happy that the videos are helping.
      Thanks for watching and I hope to see you again on the next one ✌️😁

    Got the same truck, I painted the inside of the shell black to stop all the light bleed from general sunlight and the led lights, this has actually toned the red down on the outside of the truck
    I did purchase the traxxas tinted windows but that looked a right pain to get them out so I used Tamiya smoke spray and tinted them myself makes a big much better than looking at wires, I dechromed the roll bar too and painted it satin black bit too much ‘chrome’ will probably get these shocks, have the injora links, diff covers and Alu bumpers.
    I also had some of those inner fender covers, that looked great and closed off the underside of the truck but they make what is an easy way of removing the shell a total pain to put the body back on, I actually took them off again! Shame I can’t put a pic on here be easier to see than read about.

      It's an awesome little truck and looks even better once it's been customized, if you follow through my upgrade series you will see towards the end I also painted the inside of the K10 body, but I gave it a layer of white before the black to make sure the reds still stayed vivid.
      Amongst that I have blacked out the front grill and the rear panel, I never tend to Windows as I ended up fitting inner fenders and an interior.
      Find me on Facebook if you use Facebook, there you can share some pictures with me 😉
      Sounds like you're build is coming along nicely, and I would love to see it.
      Continue watching through my K10 trx4m build videos I'm sure you will find some cool things along the way.

      Hello OlderDadKid

      And I'm really glad to hear that you found the video helpful!!
      I looked up many videos to do with shocks and found that the explanations weren't great so I thought I would do this video! And at the same time explain how to reduce the torque twist a bit by increasing the pressure of the rear right shock!
      Let me know how it works for you!?
      So far e does being working great for me!!
      I have got a friend that is working on a sway bar to prevent the torque twist especially on the load when pulling a trailer!
      Hopefully soon I will do a video on it and if it works well I will put you in contact with him so you can get one for yourself.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      If you are referring to the ball joint on the bottom of the shock or the upper part of the shock the flat side should be facing outwards to stop it from falling off.
      Even though it does look like the flat side should go to the inside!

    Back watching again, curious what is the stock shocks length

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think from hole to hole it is 51mm
      But seriously the original springs on these shocks run really nice!!
      Really helps with the torque twist and if you set the shock up with a little bit of preload pressure, it drives really nice and flat.
      And you still get all the articulation!
      This is definitely the best setup I have found so far for these little rigs!
      With this setup they do 60° incline climbs no problem, and can go down near vertical obstacles!
      Great performance from such a tall truck!

    • @rcfungames

      I have never had an o-ring fail until today and so far not one shock has come off!
      I know they are supposed to go the other way but I like having the flat end coupled to the vehicle as it gives a much better surface to tighten on.

      @rcfungames  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good afternoon, my name is Ryan please don't call me sir! 😅
      If you're talking about the ring that is to adjust the pressure on the springs?!
      It is entirely up to you really depending on how much weight you've got on the upper part of the truck.
      But if you set them up just the way I did in the video, it has been working really great with this setup.
      I only have about five full turns on the rear right shock and four on the front left shock.
      Just to provide a bit of extra pressure on those two springs to prevent torque twist.
      I hope that helps bro anything else just let me know.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks bro I really appreciate it man, 😊
      In my opinion I would definitely start with the upgraded transmission that is complete with the reduction gears bearings and the 48 turn purple motor from Injora! Excellent value for the price
      Then I would definitely go for the complete 4 mm extended axles with the stand-up Servo setup
      3 I would then definitely pick up some high clearance links in stainless steel so you can adjust the angle of your axles and also get some more weight down low.
      4 get a servo 7 kilo or the 11 kg from Injora are great.
      5 a set of brass rims and tires from Injora.
      Just with these five upgrades you will save a lot of money upgrading everything individually and you will end up with a way better truck.

    Love your videos! I tried installing the 59mm shocks on the high trail and it doesn’t work with the factory links. And I know if probably doesn’t matter but shouldn’t you put the ball joint for the top of the shock go other way around?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much, I really appreciate you watching my videos, and leaving a supportive comment.
      No with the factory links you will definitely not be able to use the 59 mm shocks you will need the high clearance links and even then it still doesn't really want to use all the articulation available from the 59 mm shocks.
      Regarding the ball joint in the top of the shock, I believe this is the right way to fit it as the flush flat side goes to the mount.

    Have you run 53 mm in the front at 59th at the rear? I’ve been thinking about wanting to try that on my bronco. I’ve done the measurements and I should be able to keep the body nice and low where I have it now I get that extra travel on the rear with the 59s, but I don’t know if it would actually be beneficial

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I have run 53 mm in the front and 59 in the back which makes for a really good setup, the reason I went back to 53 mm in the rear, is because it just looked more realistic!
      But overall I can't say it isn't a good setup!
      So give it a try I think you will quite enjoy it.

      Yeah you should have no problems running to 59mm
      Many people use them but I didn't go for them on my high trail.
      I find they've got enough articulation with the 53 mm shocks.

      @rcfungames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe! hold to hold on the stock shocks is 51 mm just a little bit shorter than the 53 mm shocks from Injora.
      You gain a tiny bit of articulation with the 53 mm shocks.
      If you're thinking of running the 59 mm shocks on the front it's going to cause a couple of issues so maybe just take a set for the rear and the 53 mm set for the front.
      I did that set up on the Bronco and the defender and worked really well.

      53mm front and back,over the stock setup

      @@rickbarg3980 in my opinion I prefer it set up with the 53mm in the front and 53mm in the back! it gives you a more realistic look when filming.
      But if you're looking for that extra Flex!! And you don't want to hit the overall performance, I would say order a set of 53 mm shocks for the front and 59 mm rear

    I have the same drive shafts as you but mine splines are showing more than yours by a 1/4 inch or so.Not unless theses are for the Bronco or Defender

      Are you sure you ordered the right ones for the high Trail?
      They are a couple of millimeter longer than the Bronco and Defender.

    Are you running foams in those tires?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I am, if I add any more weight I'm going to have to find different foams, on side hills the tires fold over!
      But for now they are performing great the way they are with plenty of grip

    Why not 59mm on front?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The reason I don't like 59 mm shocks on the front of the Traxxas TRX4m is that it causes too much problems due to the angles of the drive shaft.
      You can run them it is not a problem! but I really do think they perform a lot better with the 53 mm shocks and an LCG chassis then the 59 mm shocks which unload when trying to climb obstacles causing you to roll over even easier.
      And the scale look is lost when using the 59 mm shocks.
      The way this rig is set up I am actually blown away by how capabilities and how seated down it is to the ground on side healing and on steep climbs.
