Kids today hell even my generation will never really understand the talent - the pure talent and perfectionists these old musicians are. You didn’t hear a difference when you heard them live they sounded just like the record - better even. Martin was a true craftsman
This is so awesome. Dean's show premiered in 1965. Sadly the eldest sister Laverne (the middle one) passed away two years later of cancer. I think she was just 52. She was the peacekeeper as the sisters didn't always get along. Yes indeed memories are made of this.
I grew up with the Andrews Sisters, saw them in the movies, and heard their hits in real time. Thankfully, we don't have to say good-bye when we have their albums and videos like this one.
So much talent on this stage. Patty, the mezzo, was the leader but all three were incredibly talented. And enjoy the greatness of Dean, who always made it look easy.

Dean did drink and sometimes on camera!! Janet Leigh said people thought Dean was drinking and was drunk but, a lot of that was for show she said a lot of times he had water or ginger ale in his glass and pretended to be drunk a lots of that was his stage persona coming from the rat pack era. He did drink but, Dean was Class!! much Class!! I love Dean!! much respect!! Mr. Martin you are missed!!

I don't know how I never knew about this before today in 2020 but the Andrews Sisters have been my favorite trio from that era since I was very young and Dean Martin has been my favorite crooner for many years and this was a dream to see them together. Wow.

Tremendous. Very sad news about Laverne, incredible professionalism and ‘team work’ -from everyone. The sisters have a heavenly blend appreciated by generations.
Laverne was very sick here - terminal lung cancer. Maxene was holding her up the whole time. Laverne died just weeks after this. This was her last performance.
I really enjoyed the Andrews Sisters and loved their music in the Early Fifty's and song I liked is one I can't remember the name one song's chorus line was "I don't know where I'm goin' but I'm off to somewhere, I'm on my way ". That song still irritates me as I wanted to know where they were going. I was only about 8 or 9 years old when I first heard it. I would be so grateful if someone can remember the name of the song especially you people in America as they came from there. Many thanks. I'm in Australia.
