Still coming back after all these years.. I met my wife playing ME3 multiplayer on Firebase Condor, I heard her voice in game chat and just thought wow! We became friends but lived across an ocean from one another and took 4 years to meet in person and finally in 2018 we got engaged and married and we're no longer lost but found together and all thanks to Mass Effect..
There are. I've meet tons of them. There's two main issues as to why it seems that way. Bad news sells better then Good news. So the Media, focuses on that. Giving the perception, bad far out weights the good. For the most part humans self preservation is high, and we tend to shy away from situations that could be dangerous. Those same situations are what made these memorable characters. They were defining moments. Take for example the Boston Marathon bombing. Tragic, horrific, use any word you want. But from that one event sparked love and Brotherhood that was forged in fire. Specifically the nurse that saved a young man's life. Their now married. Little unhinged of a response, sorry.
@@jonwebber607 Unfortunately, things like the Boston Marathon bombing also sow incredible prejudice and hatred. Which in turn leads to more discord. Look at how many shootings we've had in the last year, all related to white supremacists.
@@GothicElf68 "Look at how many shootings we've had in the last year, all related to white supremacists." Shit. I must be a white supremacist. I'm Polish. So I am white. That's a sin!
@@GothicElf68 You cannot have a positive without a negative. It is a zero sum game. And it is up to each and every one of us to accept that, regardless if we like the outcomes or not.
@@hadeseye2297 I'm a white male too, of German decent, no less. I never said that being white was wrong. What I said was a problem was people thinking they are better than others BECAUSE they are white and the others are not. Which is what supremacy is. I mean, it literally says it is the name. The Boston Marathon bombing made a lot of white supremacists feel justified in hating all Muslims, all Jews, and all people of color. Never mind that most of these were in no way connected to the bombings, and even most Muslims despise what the fanatics do. That is what my spot was about. It had nothing whatsoever to do with white people being bad.
"I need you to make it out of here alive... go back to Rannoch, build yourself a home" "I have a home..." That was the most heart wrenching scene in the entire game for me... damn you BioWare...damn you!
A scene in ME:andromeda reminded me of this, one of those mages/sages said that maybe home isnt a place but a person. The only reason I liked andromeda were those references
I cried the first time I saw that scene and I still tear up every time after. If I could have a girlfriend one 1/4 the amazing girl Tali is I would be the happiest man on earth.
+Stealth Bobber wont judge ur choice of career; just hope all your service was to the betterment of mankind not to bring death and destruction for the sake of the few...
Rabih Chatila Good and it's not your place to judge what I do. But if you really want to know, most of the people in my job as a helicopter crew chief end up doing humanitarian relief all over places like southeast asia or africa. Of course I train to kill people, that's part of what a military does but there are other parts too.
It truly is impossible to pick a 'best moment' from this series.... There isn't one... They are all so special in their own ways, bringing both tears of joy and sadness. Not since I saw Mufasa die in the lion king have I ever cried like I have in this game... Why Mordin!? Why!? Legion... you DID have a soul...
I teared up when I lost Thane.... Then Tali died, and I started crying a little. Grunt died shortly after, and I felt even worse. Jack dying sent me over the edge, and I had to pause the game to grieve.... To think of how to honor those that gave their lives.
"It would be easy to get lost up there, wouldn't it? To find someplace very far away, where you could spend the rest of your life in peace and happiness." "Right now, there's no place I'd rather be" "Neither would I"
Easy for a ship to get lost out there, among the stars... That was a poignant, bittersweet scene, knowing how it all ends for Shepard and Liara. Playing FemShep in my case gave the scene even more impact, thanks to Jennifer Hale's voice acting, and I'm a guy who's played FemShep exclusively throughout the series. I would have never thought a video game could bring tears to my eyes but this song and its accompanying scene hit hard.
Liara is the best LI imo. It's very sad how shepard parted with her when running to get to the beam (if you have Liara in the party). When Liara said "I am yours", ugh...
At the risk of being *THAT* guy and reviving a LONG dead comment - It's like the end of Final Fantasy X every time I beat ME3, you find out your best friend is actually just a dream and doesn't actually exist... only there's no FFX-II coming (...for better or worse depending on your opinions there...) lol
Dude replay it. Im in the middle of the trilogy and i havent played it in years. I actually forgot how good it is and i also forgot a lot of it so 100 percent pick it up again
"I am always with you, Siah. I would not trade the time I had with you for anything. It was a good fight." "A great fight." "Then go and finish it. And when you go to the sea, I will be waiting for you at the shore."
its amazing how you can establish such a deep connection with someone that isn't there. then they get pulled away form you and it hurts just like losing a loved in the real world. I'll admit it... I cry whenever I hear this and you know what I'm proud because I know that my comrades, my friends, that bled for me and my character are smiling down at me saying"we did it Shepard, we did it"
That is the sign of a good, no, great story. I've found myself distraught after reading some stories. People and places you've never been , but woven into a tapestry that you can touch, see, and taste. This was the same for Mass Effect. Such a great story with so many different characters, able to pull you in and make you genuinely care for them. I'm sad this story is over, but I'm so glad it happened
More than that, I think it's a result of having basically full control over your character. Hence it feels like you are the person falling in love with, and having a relationship with Tali, Garrus, Liara, etc.
+HandsomeRanger If Mass Effect 3 ended with Shepard surviving, the reapers killed, I would want it to end with Shepard and Garrus drinking, like they said they would
Because Shepard died I at least hoped that at the end There Will be scene where Shepard and Thane reunite across the sea .. I loved him so much .. It was terrible when he died .. 😢😢
That is the only acceptable ending, killing the murdering machines, anything less is failure, the ending was a fraud! Nothing you busted your ass to do in the previous games made a difference, you could start me3 fresh, no import or genesis and nothing would be different!
I think they dropped the ball a little on that. I mean, if your Shepard picked Liara as love interest, there should have been a little blue kid in Liara's end scene - they did have sex, and it would have made the end more symmetric.
You know you love someone when you find yourself alone with them and you can just forget about everything going on in the world, work, school, stress, it all goes away when your with that person and in those moments its just you, them, and beauty. Nothing can harm you in your little world and for those moments all the pain you feel just disappears and nothing matters but the person beside you.. in your arms with their head on your shoulder and your hand in theirs. You don't have to hide who you are, you can just let it all out and not worry about the consequences. This is the closest thing I have found to peace in my life.
+Mike Jones omg that's sooooo beautiful it makes me cry.this is sooo how i feel when i'm with my boyfriend. your description of the feeling is sooo good!!
This game is the best game I have ever played.with all of the roles, characters, and opportunities. This game has had such an emotional impact on me.I will remember this game forever.
It's been a little over a year since my first playthrough, as of today I've had 2 more playthrough's and currently going through a fourth....there's just something about this game that I think will never fade, such a special journey and wonderful time, it is hands down my favorite form of entertainment I've ever been through....Mass Effect was not a game, it was an experience
Collegeboi3132481 For that very reason... I can't get myself to play it a second time... I have had one playthrough with one shepard from beginning of the trilogy in 2010 to end on the month of ME3's release... I haven't forgotten a single moment in that and get a nostalgic feel from it constantly, yet I cannot play again, it is like a memory and not something I can tamper with... however much I try and want to.
First time I heard this music was in the scene where Liara brings you the capsule for your opinion on Shepard's entry, and when the scene ended, I physically choked and demanded aloud that the game bring the music back. The combination of melody, emotion and the moment I'd just witnessed made it one of the most beautiful pieces I'd ever heard.
Especially when you romanced her in ME and choose Tali in ME 2 and ME 3. That's what you call "chowking". She can aonly keep her love to him for herself and be nothing more than a friend.
Mass Effect is the only game that can make me feel emotionally connected with every character and really care about how everything turns out.. Such a beautiful series.
Gorgeous, really beautiful piece of music - so moving. Really brings back the feels, really do care about my squad and genuinely miss them. World became a little emptier when the trilogy concluded. It meant something.
This video is now 8 years old... I'm sitting before my notebook and could cry again, after I remembered all the good and sad times I had with these games. There wasn't any other game, which gave me the same feeling again and again... All the characters, from Shepard to Liara and Tali (who are in my opinion two of the most beautiful women of vid games ever) of course the marvellous Mordin, who just wanted to collect sea shells, so he could have them tested... I salute you BioWare for this experience...
Love this song. Along with "An End, Once and For All" and "I'm Proud of You," it's one of my favorite tracks in the series. And I also love the romance that goes with it. While there isn't actually a canon version of Shepard or his/her choices, for me, it always felt like the story leaned towards Liara (whether intentional or otherwise) as the intended/suggested romance. Like, if they were to novelize the game or something, she would be the one I expected them to select for a relationship with Shepard. I mean, she seems like she has the most vital role to the main story. She's the one who decodes what Shepard learned from the Prothean beacon, who recovered Shepard's body, who discovered the Crucible, who made the time capsules to ensure future civilizations would have a chance if they failed, and so on, and all of that regardless of whether or not you chose to romance her. Other romance options had significant roles in certain portions of the story (Garrus for Palaven, Miranda for leading Project Lazarus, Tali for the Geth-Quarian War, etc), but very few of them seemed to have the same consistently significant impact on the story as a whole. And to me, that's the kind of thing I tend to attribute to a lead female character and/or love interest. On top of that, she's kind of a unique romance option in that, of all the main romances, only she can be romanced across all three games, romanced by both a male and female Shepard, and is the only member of your squad who absolutely cannot be killed until the finale of ME3, regardless of your choices. All of the romance options might have one or two of those attributes (Kaidan can be romanced by both male and female Shepards in ME3, Samantha and Steve can't be killed prior to ME3 because they don't appear until ME3, and so on), but none of them have all of those attributes. So...yeah. She has some of the most direct significance to the story arc of the entire trilogy, you can't kill her off even if you wanted to, and she's the only one that can be actively romanced in all three games. There might not be a canon romance, but I can't help thinking that the story really seems to favor Liara as a romance option.
I totally agree with you. Also to add this argument is the fact that as a character in general she is the only one of the companions who's personality significantly changes throughout the trilogy.
congokong87 Wrex seems to be jolly in ME3 because he is finally doing something to save the Krogan. He's bitter in ME1 because he thinks his race is doomed, and the last time he helped he was almost killed by his dad.
+alsenar2 Damn for reminding me about Mordin's death during that tune. :( That was probably one of the saddest gaming nights in my life. First I saw Mordin die, then I continued playing hoping for some thrilling mission to get my thoughts off and next I saw Thane die.
I have like 4 different version of this song and every time I hear one of them I can't help but smile and remember all the wonderful times I spent in Mass Effect alongside my crew, by far the best game series in history.
Oh, my GOD! THANK YOU! I've been trying my hardest to find JUST THE PIANO section FOREVER now! Thank you SO much- it's so much more beautiful without the strings and such... Just a simple... quiet, somber little piano piece. That's all it ever needed to be... Thank you.
I don't see why people don't like the ending to me 3. It's tragic and meaningfull, and really maks a point about technology and the chaos in all of our hearts because of it. Mass Effect to me is one of the deapest and most beautifull stories ever told.
dexter wilson I played without the extended cut. For me, the game was perfect untill you hit the beam. When I got hit, the first thing that came on my mind was "Where is Liara and Garrus?", they weren't there, they've simply vanished. That was the most raging fact for me, and then later, we don't have answers, and the catalyst tell you lies which you could not argue with because there was no option, like peace between organics and synthetics, wich you had just acomplished with the quarians and the geth. Another thing, according to the catalyst, the reapers were created to save us from the destruction by synthetics by destroying us, that doesn't make sense. When I came to this part, I was already angry by not knowing what happened to Liara, I killed the Illusive man, and when I came across that dialogue, I just got even more mad. This is why I didn't like the ending. The only thing that keeps me coming back to mass effect is liara and gamer poop.
Daniel Lima Ya, I also played the game the as soon as it came out and finished it without the extended cut and it was horrible. But it got a lot better after that and the Leviathan DLC. And I do want to say that I kinda understood the Reapers reasoning. So basically, this so-called "intelligence" came to the conclusion that organics will always create synthetics for the purpose of making their own existence easier, and that eventually, these AIs would rebel and unavoidably win the resulting war. At the end of all this, organic life will eventually cease to exist because the synthetics would not find any purpose for our existence. This cannot be stopped, no matter what they tried. They figured the only way to, and I think this is the best word for what the Reapers are doing, PRESERVE organic life is to "harvest" said life, its genetic material. Basically the prothean culture, ideology and so forth still exists, in Reaper form. Of course that is fucking stupid from our point of view, that is not the definition of living, any being can see that. But this created "intelligence" does not understand this. The mission it received was to preserve organic life, and it is doing what it was created to do, that's what it thinks it is doing.
Daniel Lima Yep, it's absolute bullshit, want to hate it more, replay ME1 and talk to Sovereign, he says nothing of where he came from, gives no reason for the death at all, other than because they demand it, skip to ME2, they are building a human reaper, yet for who knows how many cycles only the Leviathan reapers existed. I keep going back for the team, your friends and love interest, word on #4 is Shepard dies, further proving everything as futile, because they told you you would survive, other than that, they avoid all mention, why, so people will pre-order it.
For me, the best romance was with Liara or Tali. Tali is so inocent, so cute. Mass Effect has the ability to make you conect with every character. So perfect
Fresh out of my first playtrhough of the entire trilogy. I loved Liara and Shepard together.. man I just wanted them to end up and be happy together. Maybe ME4 will make up for that.
This is one of those stories who get inside you and is all magick, but then when the end comes, when the final comes, it is all like they rip that feeling off from you, and that is the moment when you want what that happened and you will be with those characters
I have only cried two times because of a game and the first one was at the ending of halo 3 and the second one was after i playd mass effect with the Citadel dlc that just broke me down so much so i could not hold my tears back. ;(
"I’m gonna fight like hell for the chance to hold you again." "No matter what happens today, know that I love you. Always…" Dammit Kaidan you make me feel things I’ve never had in my real life.
You see this is the epic thing about Mass Effect. You don't see every video about action and war etc. Some are about love or hope basicly im saying its awesome how there is different medias to how they see Mass Effect, like this one, so good.
It's funny, you'd think out of all the songs in the game (the galaxy map/citadel are good examples) you'd think you'd remember those the most, but for me it's this one.
You really did that? Wow...... I don't know if it would be sadder to play this as the casket is getting lowered or while everyone is talking about the memories they had with that person.
ME Andromeda was a big let down. They only cared for a stupid plot fille with political correctness crap instead of creating something as good as this.
From Earth I went away wandering the stars - to Earth I return with a gasp of breath of the air I haven't smelt over light years , as I relax covered in Earthly soil. Destruction ending , the Shepard legacy.
The saddest dialog has got to be "And if I'm up there in that bar and you're not I'll be looking down, you'll never be alone."
you obvi never did the femshep playthrough we're traynor tells you about the life she wants when it's all over. So sad
Garrus man... god that's epic how the devellopers created that big friendship with one badass guy in a game...

Лучшая трилогия из всех что играл! Перепрошел много раз за эти годы, эмоции вызывает оболденные!
Концовка Иры до слез
everyone's talking about how they recconnect with their romance and I'm thinking about Shepard meeting Thane across the sea.
I will await you across the sea.
+Go'el this made me fold over in emotional pain. ughhh it hurts
I wish that at the end he would be really waiting at the shore ..
This song always reminds me of Kaidan. I wish you were real... My dear...
Yep, I noticed that to. But I think of all romances, this one seemed the most genuine.
!
I thought the best story arch was romancing Liara in the first game, then Miranda in the second, then Liara again in the third.
What a beautiful melody, it almost fills the void mass effect has left behind.
"I want more time." -Tali Zorah vas Normandy
Liara I'll never forget you..."
^_^
I miss her :(
"it would be quite easy for one ship to get lost up there, wouldn't it?"
this game will forever be my favourite...
Steak, Liara, I think about all that Steak. I fucking love Steak...
- Shepard from Gamerpoop
We'll bang, ok?
I know
Shepard i'm a Reaper doomsday device.
George Vega oh shit!
I still care about you ash miranda DAMMIT
Always reminds me on Liara... the virtual lady that really touched me..
"But there's one entry I wanted your opinion on."
"Which one?"
"Your own."
Still gives me chills!
Paint me liara, like one of your French girls
"Steak liara, i can't stop thinking when there's so much steak..."
My dear Kaidan, this musical piece reminds me of you. I love you so much.
Always cry as soon as I hear this
+alsenar2
Damn for reminding me about Mordin's death during that tune.
Man the people who composed this music must've put so much in it even just listening to it I can feel the emotions in the song
It's Clint Mansell. Genius composer.
In my last playtrough Sherpard and the crew survived.
But it was sad nervertherless.
Oh, my GOD! THANK YOU! I've been trying my hardest to find JUST THE PIANO section FOREVER now! Thank you SO much- it's so much more beautiful without the strings and such... Just a simple... quiet, somber little piano piece. That's all it ever needed to be...
Thank you.
One of the few good things about ME3, it had an outstanding soundtrack.
"I believe in you, Shepard. I'm with you every step of the way"
Sobbing
Maples01 Yeah, that's the sad truth, I'm not even looking for Andromeda, I think they'll do the same thing.
Daniel Lima
They pissed off fans, so the fourth goes to another galaxy to ignore the other 3
"This vid FTL-jumped me into puberty. And who doesn't love a good cross-species romance?"
TheGuyWithTheSniper me
TheGuyWithTheSniper *feels*
"Oh, come on now, I know you, you'll find a way to win and when you do, I'll be waiting for you"
- Miranda Lawson (The best romance in ME)
Such a beautiful, emotional, wonderful soundtrack could ask for nothing more and nothing less
I want this to be played on loop at my funeral
nearly 1 year after finishing the game i am still touched by it and its soundtrack...
"And if I'm in that bar and you're not, I'll be looking down, you'll never be alone!"
😭😭😭😭
For me, the best romance was with Liara or Tali.
Tali is so inocent, so cute.
Mass Effect has the ability to make you conect with every character. So perfect
No matter our feelings for the game it still went down as the best series in gaming history in my book.
Fresh out of my first playtrhough of the entire trilogy.
I loved Liara and Shepard together.. man I just wanted them to end up and be happy together.
Maybe ME4 will make up for that.
Everyone's talking about how emotional this song is and I'm just thinking about all the Gamerpoop scenes that have used it.
This game was something else. It was more than just a game.
i think this the only game series that really got me attached to the characters.. :)
On my next playthrough of all three games, I'll have this ready to play to enhance any sad/meaningful scenes that aren't already playing it.
Reminds when Tali sang. Both versions are beautiful to listen to
Mass Effect is pure nostalgia.
This is one of those stories who get inside you and is all magick, but then when the end comes, when the final comes, it is all like they rip that feeling off from you, and that is the moment when you want what that happened and you will be with those characters
Same for me, what got me was the recording of Mordin singing Amazing Grace. Heart Strings pulled.
I have only cried two times because of a game and the first one was at the ending of halo 3 and the second one was after i playd mass effect with the Citadel dlc that just broke me down so much so i could not hold my tears back. ;(
"I’m gonna fight like hell for the chance to hold you again."
"No matter what happens today, know that I love you. Always…"
Dammit Kaidan you make me feel things I’ve never had in my real life.
You see this is the epic thing about Mass Effect. You don't see every video about action and war etc. Some are about love or hope basicly im saying its awesome how there is different medias to how they see Mass Effect, like this one, so good.
Music creates such strong emotions. I decided Liara is my queen above all because of this song. Dedicated to her and her alone.
Damn, i miss this universe so much :(
its like 2 in the morning and im crying to this song just remembering all the good times on this amazing trilogy :(
It's funny, you'd think out of all the songs in the game (the galaxy map/citadel are good examples) you'd think you'd remember those the most, but for me it's this one.
This is a great song to let yourself be a little bit sad and nostalgic...
So simple, and yet so powerfull with emotions
muzyka ,gra magiczna ,niezapomniana ....
Garrus, Tali and Liara, the friends and lovers who were too real
How come there is always that ONE FUCKING GUY who dislikes?
Yeah...there is always going to be that one asshole to dislike such a beautiful video. WHAT THE HELL!
CRIMSON STUDIOS PRODUCTION He's just pissed because he wasn't the first one to upload this
***** i see
EKSPERTproductions There must be some indoctrinated sleeper agents among us, working for the Reapers.
+feco91 Or maybe cerberus is mad Illusive Man Died.
This song is that feel.
God I can hear tali singing when the tune plays, damn i forgot how much i miss this game.
Oh I just dreamed about a longer version of this beautiful song! Thank you for making my dreams come true :)
this beautiful song give me chills.
Whatever happens, you mean everything to me Liara, you always will.
I am yours.
I wake up to the original version of this song and it is fucking glorious.
"Maybe I never found - what I want - is something deeper with somebody that I already care about. That's what I want, what do you want?"
Try playing this at a friends funeral, it was heart breaking to keep myself together while playing this. I miss you so much Carly
You really did that? Wow...... I don't know if it would be sadder to play this as the casket is getting lowered or while everyone is talking about the memories they had with that person.
Its been years and yet im still here depressed af
I never knew a game could've had such an impact on my emotions.
ME Andromeda was a big let down. They only cared for a stupid plot fille with political correctness crap instead of creating something as good as this.
You came back to me...
From Earth I went away wandering the stars - to Earth I return with a gasp of breath of the air I haven't smelt over light years , as I relax covered in Earthly soil.
Destruction ending , the Shepard legacy.
"you are the only tentacled creature inside my mind now"
Shepard if only he survived
Yes that one was just so heart touching sens Mordin was such an awesome pal. :,)
"Come back to me..."
This is a dance goodbye...to the long goodbye.
To find some place very far away where you could spend the rest of your life in peace... and happiness...
I love you for uploading this!! :)
The end of an era :'( 2012
